It's ok for villain characters to have all their powers tied into that One Object Of Power. A hero can stop the powerful villain just by grabbing it and yanking it away (or disarm, or actually attacking the focus and damaging it...). Whilr certain comic book superheroes have that One Object Of Power (Iron Man's armor, Green Lantern's power ring for examples), they are usually not bought as Focus (or eventually buy off that power limitation so the tactics used against him in his early career no longer work).
Heroes can still buy focus limitation powers, just as everyone said don't put all powers in one focus, even if the special effects are part of the whole Object Of Power.

Charlton Comics (though they forgot about Peter Cannon, Thunderbolt apparently and let him lapse), Fawcett for the Marvel family, Milestone Comics, and now these guys. Hope they do more with them!
You forgotten Wildstorm, which was originally part of Image Comics.

DC has a nasty habit of buying old characters from defunct comic book companies and incorporating them into the DC Omniverse. Which is actually a good way to save an obscure but favorite character (The Question, for example).

I didn't know (but not surprised) that DC owns THUNDER Agents now.

Don't forget, adults speak their own language.

Yestercycle is dead and gone
Tomorrow cycle is out of sight
It's to sad to be a clone

I still wish the "build a martial arts style" rules were in the main books instead of Ninja Hero.

I had my own concepts for the WITCH organization--basically they're an all-women group; no uniforms or supertechnology, but lots of women working underground or under the radar, being led by a core team of superpowered women. Would you be interested in seeing them?
Well, I wouldn't say no.

I had thought it to be a combination of the Illuminati and the quintessence in DC. But okay, that would exclude Doom…
Would it? I honestly don't know of the Quintessence. Who are they?
Just made a quick read of them. I can see it.

On the magic side of things, I would also look at including Tim Hunter (from DC), the Scarlet Witch (Marvel), the Shadow Pact / Justice League Dark crew, and perhaps the occasional Doctor Doom…
Well the Council is ment to be like the Illuminati of Marvel, but for Magic. Or at least that's the idea.l

T9Ok. Let's create a Champions universe version of the Dark Champions villain Penny Dreadful.
Genius (170)
The Educator (15)
The Expert (option 2: 10)
The (Ex-)Criminal (15)
The Hacker (25)
The Socialite (20)
Gadget Pool (uses gizmos based on whatever book she based her crime after. 65)
Executive Armor (20)
Neural Static Frequency Wall (10)
Nightstick ("Heavy Book" 20)
Nightstick (5)
Throwing Stars ("Ultimate Paper Cut" 30)
Wrist Darts (50)
Grapell Gun (5)
The Hero Cavern ("The Secret Library" 20)
Complications
Arrogant (20)
Driving Goal (Stealing Books and things related with famous books: 10)
The Fugitive (all but Psychological Complications: 25)
Penelope Ann Dreadful, as she insists her real name is, is a thief obsessed with books. She is a good friend of Tenderheart (they met when they both wanted to steal a batch of Hero-quin romance novels). Penny knows Tenderheart's secret but won't tattle on her criminal bestie.

Zatarra and Zatanna do make sense.
Clea partnered with Amethyst? I think Amethyst might be more powerful that Clea, or is sometimes a force of nature than a person.
The question is -- is Billy Batson still a kid by this time?Up to you.

In case your wondering why Dark Snyder in my example group...all groups need that one glorious bastard character. The one guy the others only let in because they are afraid if what he would do unsupervised. He is also the one to tell the council to eat ship if needed (he would of probably add "and die", but half the members are technically dead already, and Clea is a sentient bunch of magical energy in a living body herself...)
Had to change something to be able to get it published...(originally the word wasn't ship...)
-
Humm. I can see a Wizard's Councle operating out of the Rock Of Eternity. The councle members are technically retired from the "protect the Earth dimension", but they use agents to kinda continue the good fight.
Members/Agents
Doctor Strange/John Consitine (they really hate each other, cause there magic is so different)
Zartana/his daughter Zantana
Shazam/Billy Batson
Dark Snider (from the anime Bastard!!!)/???? (He never tells who his agent is, and knowing him he might not actually have one and is just messing with the councle. It might be Raven...)
Merlin/Jason Blood - Entergin the Demon
Nabu/Doctor Fate
Clea/Amathess of Gemworld

Finishing up the campaign section of Sanctuary heading for the character section. Was wondering something. In the case of normal NPCs, doctors, nurses, and cooks. Would you like stats, skills, and complications, or just the skills that matter for the position and complications?
No need to waist pressure paper on doing full seats on what is just normal with personality. Give us a paragraph on history, personality, and the skills they are noted for.

Good luck guys.

Basically for the cost of the character's STR the character has access to the martial maneuvers in the book. That was how 3rd edition Martial Arts operates under. I believe thors things are Martial Block, and the kick.
I'm a 4ed BBB baby myself, so I never encountered the pre 4ed martial arts rules except in the more vague means.

This build is a recreation and Champions upgrade to the Dark Champions villain Tenderheart. Enjoy.
Combat Expert (170)
The Actor (20)
The (Ex-)Criminal (15)
The Weapon Specialist (30)
Blade Fighting (Fencing) (30)
Nanofibers Suit (Fencing outfit/various Victorian style dresses) (30)
Neural Static Frequency Wall (looks like various hair ornaments or ribbons or earrings) (10)
Sword, Light (15)
Sword, Light (5)
Taser Gloves (50)
Spring Boots (10)
Earpieces (usually disguise as earrings) (10)
Monoline Slinger (60)
Safe House (15)
Complications
Driving Goal (get protental lover to notice her) (10)
Driving Goal (get rich by stealing things related to romance) (10)
The Fugitive (all except for the Psychological Complication) (25)
Honor Code (Code of the Gentlewoman Thief) (15)
The villain is still a transgender woman, and her goles are to attract her crush and surround herself with objects of romance. She drops into and out of love at a drop of the hat.
What do you think?

Oops. Double post.
Saved it by making it a review.
Anyways, it's a relatively short book designed for putting together quick basic heroes for starting play for players who don't exactly have the time to do a fine tune build. The builds are not exactly balanced but don't exactly look thusly either (no 15d6 blasts or 8d6 killing attacks). It's good for a beginning character which can be balanced later on. Steven W. Otte isn't a bad writer for someone writing his first rpg book.
The sample characters are ok (The Amazing Connor: a street magician turned the real thing, Blue Streek: a female reporter turned speedster, Dragonflame: a trained martial artist and legacy hero, Ergo: an energy being who was dying but gave his energy to that one person he could merge with, Golden Eagle: bird power armor user, Huntsman: an Australian Spiderman homage except he is also an employee of business who lones him out, Midori: a female alantian warrior, Sirenna: an Empyrean sonic wielder, and Stonehenge: a midevil son of a Miller who was changed into a brick by witches). Some are more creative than others. But the backgrounds don't sound bad really.
If this book gets a sequel, would I buy it? Sure. $20 isn't a bad price for 91 pages. Do I expect a Heroes In A Hurry 2? Not really.

I just got this last night and think I can use it to do a Champions Universe recreation of the Dark Champions villain Tenderheart quite easily.
Let me see..

Tenderheart is still a transgender woman who falls in love with superheroes at the drop of a hat, and her crimes are designed to get the attention of her current crush.

Hmm.. I believe you mean Scourge from the Deep, and the Aquans villain team. Could be a good team for tiger to update, although personally I wouldn't categorize them as an "organization."
Only if they have a agent arm with guys in the same uniform standing side by side. This is what makes an organization an organization. If they have an agent arm. And if they can still exist without their founder.

Totally forgot about them, Have to take another look, been awhile
Atlas and Promethean? It is an odd thing that a villain has two organizations active at the same time, both two different sides of the same goal. But Piecemonger can do it.

True. The Island of Doctor Destroyer has the first appearance of what will become the second home of Sanctuary. And who is to say that the wicked Doctor didn't build a few of them?

Sorry about poking the bear there. I suggested Quebec because I didn't want to leave them out of anything.
As for the Brigadoon thing, it might just be a utopia...but to whom is it a perfect place? Even Pleasant Valley (from the Two Thousand Maniacs/2001 Maniacs series of films) is considered a utopia to some people.
