  1. Re: Ekatrina, tips for the character Yes she is. The character she's ment to rival is also 500 points, and 500 points is low in this game. Adverage individual mook is about 100-150, with the heavies wheighing in at over 1300. It's a very high powered game. Oh..... and she has rapid attack and two weapon fighting, it's in the skill list....hehe But if I had forgotten it (which I almost did since she's only the 3rd character I've built) I would definately have apreciated you pointing it out ^-^
  2. Re: Ekatrina, tips for the character heh thnx. I'm tired of the human faced "furries" I like the more animal features. And I love the kilrathi! Glad you like it ^-^
  3. Ekaterina is a rival for my upcoming game. She's about 6 feet tall, a humanoid tiger (don't think furry, think more like kilrathi) She's a mercenary. I want her to be an effective 2 weapon fighter. Anyway let me know that you think.
  4. Re: How would you simulate this? plus, you do have to give up a half phase getting back up, and unless you're super fast this will hurt you if you're forced to do it a lot. I've failed dex rolls too, in fact about 26% of the time a character will fail a 12- dex roll. And at 14- it's still a 10% fil chance. And besids if you have a high dex roll, then by all rights you should be able to get out of the way. That's the point right? Isn't that one reason why dex is so expensive? The way I figure, if you make them roll enough, eventually they will fail. The best way to ensure that your opponent can't get out of the way is to drain dex or use luck to reroll thier dice to make sure they fail. Anyother way to make them fail is also acceptable. You could even limit it more if you want so the drain/luck is only applicable to DFC dex rolls, that's pretty cheap now then isn't it?
  5. Re: Children s'ok roy, and thnx for the praise. I'm also with yamamura, this is comic book/cinematic reality. You shouldn't have to pay double for your stats just to be a boy genius rather than his grown up counterpart. But a boy genious would still be effected by being young, which is where the physical limitation would come in. I think it solves the problem quite nicely
  6. Re: Children ok, I can understand the reasoning behind not having them be little adults, more than expereince is needed for that. But if the game allows for animals to have the same intelligence score as a normal person but with the disadvantage "animal mentality" I don't see why children can't be modled the same way with the disadvantage "child mentality" Maybe that's just me though
  7. Re: Herophile Fantasy art yeah honestly everyone's really talented. I'm a fan of mech pencil too...but I love ballpoint pen!
  8. Re: Herophile Fantasy art awsome ^-^ I look forward to seeing what anybody has to add. New stashes mean more fun! I need to find my cable so I can use my digital camera to upload some more pcs, most of these are from the past year or so.
  9. Re: Herophile Fantasy art oo another elfwood person! here's my site too ^-^ http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/art/o/n/onyxclaw/onyxclaw.html
  10. Re: Children I think I agree with Yamamura. As a child a lot of people are quick witted, sometimes I think maybe I was smarter when I was younger. The main reason we view children as having alower intelligence is because we've been brought up to believe that...or so it seems. Frequently children i'm around come up with better solutions to problems than adults, regaurdless of experience simply because they tend to look at the world differently. I would agree that a child can have the same INT as an adult, with lower INT for slower kids, just like adult stats. But a slow kid doesn't grow into a quick witted adult..well not normally. I think that as a player or a GM you should limit what a child knows, not how quickly they process information. The other thing is, usually when a child doesn't understand something it's because of the symbols (language or choice of words) being used, not lack of ability to understand. Most of the time the difference between adults and kids are behavioral and societal anyway.
  11. Re: Herophile Fantasy art wow, I wish I could sculpt like that. I'm not a bad painter, but my miniature work needs, well some work. Most of my experience with miniatures comes from playing warhammer, and that's about it other than ceramics for my dimensional painting. I'm alright with water color though.... This is Fergel, he's an infantile green dragon, his mother is a maid on on kilsanth, the setting for my next game.
  12. Re: Herophile Fantasy art thnx ^-^ My people aren't really that bad I suppose. I have had a figure drawign class. Just less interest I suppose.
  13. Re: Severed Limbs... What About Heads? hmmm. That would make sense. But I don't think people have it work that way because then OCV or penalty skill levels just for targetting would be overused for instant kills... There are some body tables that include neck. I often had the same worry about that one. realistically they should be beheaded...but for balence purposes I dunno
  14. Re: Partial BoECV? you could always toss on "does body" if it didn't
  15. Re: Herophile Fantasy art Oh, this is another pic I did for my lithography class. I'm now using it for one of my NPCs in the fall. His name is Koshken, and he's a leviathan. A rather dangerous but benevolent king of the deep ^-^
  16. Re: The Great Finality In the campain I'm running in the fall, the permanency of death depends on the character. If the player's tired with the character than he's gone. If the chracter has no one to help him come back, he's gone. But there are creatures, spells, and people that can reverse the effects of death or even bring him back as a ghost. A lot of the time it's also circumstances based. A beloved character who didn't come back might even make a return as a plot device after his original creator has made himslef a new character, but only for a little while...
  17. Re: Herophile Fantasy art wow, these are awsome. I'm not too good at drawing people...But I'll humbly submit my first roleplaying character...which happend to be made in herosystem Her name is Zekari and she's a young electrical dragon...makes for a fun game ^-^
  18. Re: Gimme a cool challenge... wow, I'm impressed, never was too good at drawing people myself. I'm more of a monster drawer. I did do the eye on my avatar and the critter on the signiture though. Great job!
  19. Re: Person of Steel, Significant Other of Tissue paper Roy played a half fire elemental that had problems with his love life due to the fact he was (searing heat). Unfortunately for them he was also so damn hot that most of them couldn't say no (no pun intended). His partners took damage from being with him. But he always took care fo them after they did and never continued past thier tolerance. He also usually healed them before he went on his way. I think it mainly depends on the gm honestly. The most interesting thing we had was when our catgirl psychic (benajeserit from dune...don't ask) went into estris. That was interesting. We did have her roleplay mind controlling people, but os of us really didn;t want to go too much into what she did with them....
  20. Re: Special Powers in Power Frameworks
  21. Re: How would you simulate this? actually indirect only keeps obstacles from being in the way of the attack. I'm pretty sure that dive for cover, especially on a non AoE attack would still work. Since it actually represents just getting out of the way of the attack, not actually getting behind cover, and can be any kind of movement even flight or teleportation. Just cause the fireball comes from behind you when your enemy is in front doesn't mean you can't get out of the way.... All that they'd have to do is make the dex roll and it would miss. OCV CSLs would be helpful for making sure you hit, but again diving for cover causes a problem. You need to get them to fail dex rolls.... I think roy might have been on the right track But then maybe there's something I'm missing about the DFC manuver
  22. yes roy, thnx ^-^ Have fun visitng with nic!
