  1. I'm wondering if it is possible to create a power that gives you extra phases with an activation roll? I'm thinking of a potion, sword, item that will grant an extra attack on a roll of 11 or less or some such. What do you all think? Any ideas? Is it possible in the rules framework? (I also posted this in the Champions and Fantsy Hero threads)

  4. You probably want to take a look at the Free Stuff page --> Hero Designer --> Export Templates. I believe there are some updated templates you can use there. Specifically ExportTemplatesKS.zip. Killer Shrike has an updated Hero Boards Export Template that include the background info. See his various posts above to see what they look like.
  5. LOL Which ones?? I am in the midst of about 3 different ones. Everything is on hold for the moment. I am building a database for a processing plant, writing a character creator for an RPG (not this one), and have a day job. Needless to say, the templates got moved to the back burner until I need a break from trying to make a living
  6. Ah, yes I see that. Might still be easier to read though. Just a thought.
  7. Instead of listing War-Man Form over and over could you just make a list with that title and put the powers under it? It would be easier to read. Other than that, I like the ideas.
  8. Ok, I have to post one more off-topic I was working at KublaCon Memorial weekend, and we sell OGL Soap (It's a gag thing), anyway, this lady comes up to the booth and asks for a bar for her son. I say yea it's a great gag gift, and she says you got the gag part right. She said she was buying it for her son in the hopes that he would actually bathe... is that sad or what? Ok, now back to the character posting!
  9. lores... low res! I get it. Finally... LOL
  10. Yes. Yes you do. I will mention that there is a planned version 2 coming out in December, but I would buy the current and that one. We want to support Hero Games and Dan Simon the programmer after all.
  11. Woo there Cowboy! If you have the picture you can simply insert that into HD without getting another version of the templates.
  12. That is truly incredible! Considering that you are doing the coloring and everything! We used to have an artist in our group that would draw characters and such from time to time, but it would take him about a day or so. He was a serious perfectionist as well which might explain the slowness. He is currently working as a commercial artist. At least he was the last time I talked to him... Thank you for the insight Storn!
  13. Storn, Just out of curiousity, how long does it take you draw a character to the point that they are when you submit them to the board? Is it a sit-down-one-afternoon thing, or does it take several days? As a non-artistic type, I am always amazed at the speed at which some individuals can crank out drawings. Your work has always impressed me as top notch so I was just wondering how quickly they "flow from your head to paper".
  14. I would prefer the bigger better resolution pictures because "standees" are easy to make if you have good quality images to begin with so they don't lose too much detail at reduced sizes. It would also be fun to create several versions of the pictures showing them slowly getting beat up!
  15. Re: opinions of hero products I have it on very good authority that The Dragon's Gate is approaching completion. It is an excellent suppliment for the San Angelo: City of Heroes world book, but would also be useful for coloring any Chinatown in any city that has supers. The majority of the characters are martial artists which would also fit them into a Ninja Hero game as well. In a fantasy setting a little bit of GM adjustment would be required, but it could easily be turned into an oriental village. There are several teachers, apothocaries, and temples that could be used for a monk character's background. In summary I would highly recommend it:D
  16. You make a valid point... sort of.... For what I'm trying to simulate it was a tough call. I don't want him to be invisible as much as hard to find... Hmmm... I wonder if Change Envionment or a Penalty Skill Level vs. PER would be better than going the invisibility route. What do you think? I'm thinking of many possible genres. I tend to GM/play somewhat realistically with normals thrown in with metas. I picture him fitting in right in the middle. Best suited for maybe a Ninja Hero game or low powered Champions. He will be an NPC most likely so I'm not overly concerned about his combat readiness against Supes. He should be able to survive a handgun shot, not well, but survive.
  17. Re: what are you trying to simulate? It's to simulate disappearing right in front of the person by moving in such a way that the target loses track momentarily. I'm thinking of using for purposes of getting behind someone for the next attack. I wasn't sure about the Instant myself. It says that it would be on for at most until the end of the phase. I thought that would simulate his moving about. It will definitely require some tactics to use effectively.
  18. Re: Re: Kung Fu Master for comments Very good:D and I'm working on his brother... ready... Ped Xing LOL
  19. Look closer... Under skills... It has a + in front of the line...
  20. This is a copy from the Company Questions Forum. I wanted to make sure that you got this. I wasn't sure which Forum to use. I am currently working on a project converting about 140 characters, vehicles, bases, computers, etc. from 4th to 5th. I'm using Hero Designer to do the work. Unfortunately, HD doesn't Export exactly per the WG. I've been working with Dan to create Export tags and the like to get it closer to the WG. What I'm wondering is how much leniency are you giving to the creation of characters and such using HD? These characters I'm building will be for submission in publications. So I'm very concerned about it. I have all the characters entered in HD and converted to 5th. Now it has all come to exporting them. The publisher has several books already published, but they are revising everything for 5th ed. I would elaborate more, but I can't as you probably understand... Thanks!
  21. I was kinda wondering about that... Thanks.
