  1. I'm curious as to the second scenario, this one looks quite amusing and I think the player/GM had fun with it...
  2. Well, at least maple syrup is not debatable. You'll have to head into Quebec for the maple Syrup experience...
  3. The game that I've been working on has the heroes starting with no powers, low stats and skills (125 pts max). I have the way their powers will manifest planned out but am keeping that under wraps in case they start frequenting these forums...
  4. Has anyone tried to build Karnak from the Inhumans? He was the definition of Find Weakness in the day... He'd be in a lot of trouble with this new iteration...
  5. This is what I was wondering back up when I asked if the two characters could keep triggering each other... and fight to the exclusion of others... Best let your palindromedary know that Dale Evans knows how to use a gun!!!
  6. Where is the source information for Counterstrike? I've looked in the index for Complete Champions and Hero System 1&2. Course I might just be blind too...
  7. I have also been looking at older characters and wanting to update them to 6th Edition, but the useful ability of Find Weakness is not available anymore. would you build this as a Naked Advantage for Str or Martial Arts by using Armor Piercing? Perhaps with a skill roll? Can you buy a Detect Weakness ability to find out if a character is susceptible or takes extra damage from certain attacks? To determine if a fire character takes additional damage from water attacks?
  8. I have spend the evening looking through old adventures from my early hero days. Found a trove of Adventurer's Club mags. Planning to incorporate a Cyber hero adventure as the starting point for my players!! It was an enjoyable time going through and finding old characters I forgot I had!!! In process I found my Champions III book and have posted the Character Development Form (from 1984) to the downloads section, for anyone interested!
  9. 126 downloads

Attached is the Character Development Form from Champions III, circa 1984 Questions to ask your players about their characters.
  10. Can anyone link something from the old Danger International games? Or something science oriented? I'm starting a new Champions game and the players will not have powers for the first few games, but I don't just want them sitting around waiting for the radiation leak...
  11. Don't forget the most recent Fantastic Four... I missed Stan...
  12. would the trigger still work if a second person attacks them, after they have already done the above? I'm refreshing myself on the rules of combat etc, planning a new game and trying to remember (and not confuse other game systems with Hero) Its just like my players to throw something at me in my first game...
  13. So... If two characters have these abilities, say Daredevil & Bullseye, they could theoretically hit/counter-hit each other in one phase until one is knocked out or stunned? Or am I misreading the whole thread?
  14. Charles Edward Zuccarelli was born and raised in New York City. He used to daydream about someday having amazing superpowers, being able to fly and rescue damsels in distress. Knocking out the villains and seeing them carted away for prosecution and justice! But he was an shy introvert, and the bullies at his school nicknamed him Chuckie, after the murderous doll from the movies. He used to be ridiculed and degraded on a regular basis. One Friday after school, he was running home from school, chased by the bullies when he tripped and fell. They grabbed him and took him to an old abandoned park and pushed him into an old sewer line. They hung out at the entrance and wouldn't let him out. Realising he wouldn't be able to push his way through the gang he headed further into the sewers hoping to find another way out. He wandered for hours and thought he was really lost when he saw a light up ahead. Thinking it was sunlight coming through a grate that he might be able to get through he ran towards it. What he found instead was a nest full of eggs, eggs that were glowing green. Looking around frightfully, he noticed a large white alligator, possibly the mother and she had huge white eyes, she didn't move and he figured she was waiting for an opportunity to attack. One of the eggs started wriggling, it broke open and a baby alligator came out. Still Momma didn't move, then another broke out and the two tiny gators started to fight. Fascinated, Chuck watched them and the one killed the other and started to feed on it. In horror he saw it grow before his eyes. Looking at the eggs again he noticed that there was only one egg left and its green glowing was fading away, the one gator went over to mom and curled up against her. Chuck had a thought, this could be worth some thing if he could figure out what to do with it. He grabbed the remaining egg, and some of the nest and stuffed it into his backpack. He heard a noise behind him, looking back he saw that Momma was awake now, he ran as fast as he could back the way he'd come. Eventually he made his way back to where he had been pushed in, the bullies were gone now, bored with waiting for him to try and come out. He went home with his prize and tried to figure out what to do next. He googled how to care for the egg and settled for keeping it warm with his lamp stand light. Then he Googled what to feed an alligator so he could be prepared for when it broke out. Later that night the baby was hatched, it was so cute and its white skin was offset by its green eyes. Chuck fed the gator and decided he was going to raise it himself. He tried to keep its existence a secret but mom's know when their children are up to something! She found him and forbid him to keep the creature, it had been a week and he had been feeding it mice. As if knowing that it would be turned over to some one else that night the baby gator died. Chuck was heartbroken and the baby died in his arms, something strange happened as it passed away, an energy passed between them and Chuck felt different somehow, stronger... When next the bullies picked on him one of then, Richard the ringleader actually punched him in the chest, the strange energy had started to transform Chuck, he hardly felt the blow and Richard hurt his hand. Over the next few weeks Chuck started getting muscles and taller, at 17 it was like he had finally reached puberty and was growing into what he always dreamed of. The bullies no longer picked on him, he started defending other kids from them and girls even started to show an interest in him, this was the life!! Chuck is finishing high school and planning on where his future will take him, he thinks that with his new strength and nigh invulnerability he should try out for the Champions, but he probably needs to show them what he can do for them to accept him, that afternoon he is witness to a battle between Witchcraft and some DEMON agents, she is handling them easily when another one comes around the corner, she doesn't see him and he prepares to attack from behind (the churl) Chuck roars and jumps in front of the agent to save Witchcraft, the energy blast is ineffective against his scaly skin, wait?? Scaly?? When did that happen?? In horror he sees a reflection of himself and he has grown to about 7 feet tall, has green and white scaly skin and of all things an Alligator head. At first, Witchcraft thinks he is an enemy and prepares a spell to take him out, then she notices the DEMON agent at the feet of this being. Instead she cuts a spell of intention and learns of his noble attitude, she invites him to come join her and the other heroes. He takes the name of Gatorade,,,
  15. I used to run Champions games all the time, but I got burned out, I asked some of the other players to take over and run some games so I could take a back seat and recharge. At first no one did, so we stopped playing altogether. My wife ran a few games but stopped awhile back, its been about 8 months since we played, maybe longer and so if I want a game it looks like I have to her the GM again. My players wouldn't even run other games like DnD, I was always the guy to do it. I'm looking at starting up again cause I miss the games but have certainly been annoyed with all the excuses. "You do it so much better than I would!!" How do you know? you've never tried!! I've adopted a new attitude, "I'm not getting older, I'm getting bitter!!" I've had the same problem with my group about someone being the Team Leader... too!! Bolo, I have also discovered that I really enjoy running games not just playing in them. Sometimes you just need to pull out the Lantern and repeat the Oath... "In Brightest day..." Now I'm gearing up to start another game but have rediscovered all the work involved and am not getting to it as quickly as I used to!
  16. Thanks Death Tribble, looks like your the winner by default!! Your turn to post... Boise, good one!!
  17. Have you looked at any of the supplements in the store? There are a couple Shared-Origins books, that have some adventures built in. Also, Evilution Unchained is an adventure my wife is currently running. It has a bunch of cool stuff in it!! And the Villainy Codex!! Must not forget that!!!
  18. Have you tried any of the character generators? Like HeroMachine or X-Girl? They are quite basic, although losing the work once and having to start over from scratch was not a fun time, but its easier than trying to draw it yourself!
  19. Has anyone ever redone the background sheets from those books? About different questions you ask yourself when building the history of a character? I think they were in the Champions 3 book...
  20. I have an image to post... Made on the X-Girl website... Not sure how to resize it though... hmmm, I can't seem to load the pic here... get an error message of "you are not allowed to use that image extension on this community" I've changed the format to a JPEG and still get the same error... any help out there? I got a message that Clonus likes my post but... Finally figured it out... ok pic attached...
  21. For my own bid, I say Facade. She creates illusions of things you fear, "You'll reap what you've sown now!!" She's more of an anti-hero, punishing those who deserve it!! Mental illusions to confuse the mind, "Are you sure you really saw what you say you saw??"
  22. Saint & Sinner!! I like, but what makes you think the guy in the cloak is a saint???
