Time Bandits: A kid gets involved with a troupe of thieves with a map showing holes in spacetime. It's a quirky, good watch. (Max)

The Lost Boys: After moving to a new town, two brothers find out that there's a sinister reason people keep disappearing. It's a good watch. (4K UHD Blu-ray)

Atlantis: The Lost Empire: Animated film from Disney, a linguist leads the search for the lost city of Atlantis. This one's much better than I remembered from watching it in the theater. (Blu-ray)

Very complicated. Robert Downey Junior's performance was chilling, and all that drama was caused by a misunderstanding...

Rollerball: In the Future (2018), Jonathan E. is the best Rollerball player in a world run by corporations. When he refuses to retire, the corporate managers make lethal changes to the game. The movie's been recently remastered for 4K, and it looks wonderful. My old Blu-ray copy would get banding in some of the darker scenes, but the HDR10/Dolby Vision on this version eliminates that. It's a good watch. (4K UHD Blu-ray)

Night of the Comet: A couple of valley girls survive the return of the comet that wiped out the dinosaurs, and must battle zombies and survivalist scientists. This has been remastered in 4K, and looks and sounds great. It's a good watch. (4K UHD Blu-ray)

I liked Steve Martin's Dead Men don't wear Plaid too. the interspersing of the noir scenes if fun, especially as I recognized all of them.

Clue: To make a long story short*, this is usually a regular re-watch for me. I'd had a DVD for ages, but found out that Shout Studios had recently put out a 4K version. Picture and sound are both improved from the DVD, and this version allows choosing the DVD's ending, or randomly choosing one of the three (like when it was released in the theaters). It's a good watch. (4K UHD Blu-ray)

My Cousin Vinny: Two youts traveling through Alabama are accused of murder, and reach out to a family member to help with their defense. It's a good watch. (Blu-ray)

Wonka: A magical vision of Wonka's early days, it's very much a love letter to Gene Wilder's take on the character. Highly recommended. (UHD 4K Blu-ray)

My older Sony 4K Blu-ray player has been frustrating me a bit lately, with freezing issues on some 4K discs. It also doesn't handle Dolby Vision. I've been pricing a  Panasonic 4K Blu-ray player (DP-UB820), which is Dolby Vision-capable. Checking my email this morning, Best Buy sent me a special $10 certificate, and so I decided to check their website. It was marked $75 off, and so I've bought it. Picture and sound are superb. It's the one to get if you are in the market for a 4K Blu-ray player.

I'm rewatching Batman: The Animated Series on Max. The order of episodes is different than on the DVD/Blu-Ray releases (which I also own), and are closer to the original airdates. It's an extremely good watch.

It's too bad the death of Fred Gwynne didn't allow them to do the follow up. Rumor had it that the Judge reached out to Vinny when he had legal problems. Pesci and Gwynne's on screen chemistry was so good and played off each other so well, would have loved to see it.

Okay, everybody take a deep breath. The sky is not falling.   First of all, the SCOTUS will hear arguments on this case in the third week in April. That's a fast-track, meaning that unless the court drags its feet on the trial to an incredible degree, a ruling will still happen before the general election. Trump did not want that. Second, Trump is arguing that a US President is immune to criminal prosecution for any and all actions taken while in office. That is incredibly, dangerously broad to try to get through any court, regardless of its bias. Third, the court is aware that any ruling about Presidential immunity that applies to Donald Trump, also applies to Joe Biden, and any actions he might take.

The SCOTUS may wish to establish the appeals court ruling as universally applicable, ending the controversy. Or it may wish to define the limitations of presidential immunity. The mere fact that it's hearing the case does not automatically mean it will rule in Trump's favor.

I FINALLY watched the Marvels on Disney Plus. It was enjoyable enough I wish I had just seen it on the big screen. The leads were ALL good, with Captain Marvel allowed to show feelings now that she was in this movie deprogrammed so she wasn't stuck in mandatory wooden mode like in her first movie. I'm a fan of Monica in the comics, and her actress did her justice given the set up. Iman Vellani as Kamala had already impressed me in her mini series, but she really shone on the big screen as the fan girl turned superhero. Loved almost every scene she was in. Fury made with some funny, but was not made to be the joke , which is different and I'm grateful. It was definitely comedic in tone for a lot of the movie, but I liked the balance in it.

If I had to sum up where it stands compared to other Marvel movies, I think I'd just say I liked it better than THREE of the Thor movies.
