I demand that for the last minute of the decent the ground crew belts out the chorus of Jon Bon Jovi's "Blaze of Glory" as hard as they can and posts the results.

You know why they call it "life"?  Because all the other four-letter words were taken.

My sympathies as well, and best of luck on both the work front as well as wife's / parents' health fronts.

    You can't run away forever
But there's nothing wrong with getting a good head start
You want to shut out the night
You want to shut down the sun
You want to shut away the pieces of a broken heart

Think of how we'd lay down together
We'd be listening to the radio so loud and so strong
Every golden nugget coming like a gift of the gods
Someone must have blessed us when he gave us those songs

    I treasure your love
I never want to lose it
You've been through the fires of hell
And I know you've got the ashes to prove it
    I treasure your love
I want to show you how to use it
You've been through a lot of pain in the dirt
And I know you've got the scars to prove it

Remember everything that I told you
And I'm telling you again that it's true
    When you're alone and afraid
    And you're completely amazed
To find there's nothing anybody can do
    Keep on believing
    And you'll discover baby

    There's always something magic
    There's always something new
And when you really really need it the most
That's when rock and roll dreams come through
    The beat is yours forever
    The beat is always true
And when you really really need it the most
That's when rock and roll dreams come through
    For you

Once upon a time was a backbeat
Once upon a time all the chords came to life
And the angels had guitars even before they had wings
If you hold onto a chorus you can get through the night

    I treasure your love
I never want to lose it
You've been through the fires of hell
And I know you've got the ashes to prove it
    I treasure your love
I want to show you how to use it
You've been through a lot of pain in the dirt
And I know you've got the scars to prove it

Remember everything that I told you
And I'm telling you again that it's true
You're never alone 'cause you can put on the phones
And let the drummer tell your heart what to do
    Keep on believing
    And you'll discover baby

    There's always something magic
    There's always something new
And when you really really need it the most
That's when rock and roll dreams come through
    The beat is yours forever
    The beat is always true
And when you really really need it the most
That's when rock and roll dreams come through
    For you!

Take your baby by the hand
And make her do a high handstand
And take your baby by the heel
And do the next thing that you feel

    We were so in vies
    In our dance hall days
    We were cool on cries
When all you and everyone we knew
Could believe, do, and share in what was true

    Dance hall days love !

Take your baby by the hair
And pull her close and there, there, there
And take your baby by the ears
And play upon her darkest fears

    We were so in vies
    In our dance hall days
    We were cool on cries
When all you and everyone we knew
Could believe, do, and share in what was true

    Dance hall days love
    Dance hall days
    Dance hall days love

Take your baby by the wrist
And in her mouth an amethyst
And in her eyes two sapphires blue
And you need her and she needs you
And you need her and she needs you
And you need her and she needs you
And you need her and she needs you
And you need her and she needs you

    We were so in vies

    for she invented, medicinal compound
    most efficacious in every case

Mr Freers, had sticky out ears
and it made him awfully shy
and so they gave him medicinal compound
and now he's learning how to fly

Robert Tony, was known to be bony
he would never eat his meals
and so they gave him medicinal compound
now they move him round on wheels

    we'll drink a drink a drink
to lily the pink the pink the pink
the saviour of the human race
    for she invented medicinal compound
    most efficacious in every case

Old Ebeneezer thought he was Julius Caeser
and so they put him in a home
where they gave him medicinal compound
and now he's Emperor of Rome

Jonny Hammer, had a terrible st st st st stammer
he could hardly s-s-say a word
and so they gave him medicinal compound
now's he's seen, but never heard

    We'll drink a drink a drink
to Lily the pink the pink the pink
the saviour of the human race
    for she invented, medicinal compound
    most efficacious in every case

    Aunty Milly, ran willy nilly
when her legs they did recede
so they rubbed on medicinal compound
    now they call her millipede

and the boys all called her names
but she changed with medicinal compound
now he joins in all the games

    most efficacious in every case

Lily the Pink she turned to drink
she filled up with paraffin inside
    and despite her medicinal compound
    sadly pickled Lilly died

up to heaven her soul ascended
all the church bells they did ring
she took with her medicinal compound
    hark the herald angels sing

    We'll drink a drink a drink
to Lily the pink the pink the pink

Well..you know maybe someday they will get their dream, a society that will have no problem with gunning them down like mad dogs if they do anything goofy. I've noticed a lot of persons that think that a libertarian society would be a utopia, fail to consider their own likely fate in one.

The way I look at it, the $300 wasn't for x-rays. It was for knowing that both of my kids were safe.

One thing did bother me a little about the way they did the story.  The first couple of graphs are possibly a little misleading:  How many of the marriages are what they speak of vs. 18 year olds marrying their 16 year old girlfriends.  The latter while troublesome and damaging in their own right, is likely mutual youthful stupidity.  Rather than 14 year old forcefully coerced into marrying some 35 year old piece of sleaze.  I admit the 18/16 relationship makes me say "stupid kids" while 35/14 makes me say "someone should rip off that guy's _____"   (not to mention I want to beat parents who would coerce their daughters into such a marriage with a big tree branch)

Carthago delenda est. Back them into their last little hole. Break their last strength of arms. Kill all the males, young ones first. Give the females the option of death or being sold into slavery. Destroy all their works, no two stones atop each other. Poison the soil of their homeland so the ground defiled by their birth cannot bear any fruit ever again. Eradicate them so completely that in a century, scholars will have pointless and futile debates about what language they used. Make them one with smallpox, but this time have the b---s to break into the bioweapons labs, seize the last reservoirs of their loathesome existence, and feed those to a plasma furnace, reducing it to less than its component atoms.

There is no curse in Elvish, Entish, or the tongues of Men for the cowardice that monsters like this display. At least I, for one, cannot articulate in any way the depth of absolute hatred that I feel for these...like I said, words cannot even convey.

I don't even feel hatred for these guys any more. Just contempt and disgust. I mean, I'd still like to show them my power tool collection, but choosing little girls as an adversary deserves little more than mockery.

In reality this is a good argument. In Batman comics, when the Joker escapes from Arkham every Tuesday, kills 8 people before lunch, gets caught by Batman.  Rinse and repeat, to next Tuesday, then not so much.

Latest I have found on the Lightweight Small Arms Technology program. Panel that is lighter more Compact and longer range than the 308, and also may be more accurate than standard ammo

I had a mild argument with some of my young coworkers who are of the The Joker Is Awesome Club. My position is that almost anyone who saw the Joker approaching them would have grounds to feel that their life was in imminent threat of being ended. Therefore they could justifiably shoot the Joker in self-defense. But the writers don't think that would make a good story. Actually I think I might be a really good story as the news media and everyone else in Gotham had to discuss the fact that "the Joker was killed by a normal citizen, why have we let him terrorize us for so long?" I'll have the police not managed to shoot him? ( his fans argue to me that the Joker is a master at close combat and that's why he's managed to survive) the reactions of different people especially Batman, Commissioner Gordon and some of the other regular characters to the death of the Joker would be a fascinating story

The difference would be that killing in self-defense, or in defense of an innocent third party, is generally recognized as ethically acceptable, and is perfectly legal.

The complicating factors, of course, are that 1) it has to be done while the would-be killer poses a clear and present danger to life or limb, and 2) it's ethically (and possibly legally) fuzzy to use lethal force to save a life IF you've got a non-lethal takedown that would work just as well, and Batman has a lot of ways to do that.
