  1. Re: Hooligan_X and Proditor Present: "The Third Semi-Annual Great HERO Figure Contest Here is my entry for Original team Collective Alpha, a Soviet silver age team From right to left 1.) Colonel Yevgeny Kamerov, red army Colonel in charge of the state's metahuman counter development program. He distinguished himself as a soldier during the Great Patriotic War and averted disaster by defeating U.S. metahumans in a number of theaters of conflict. 2.) Sifter, the greatest success of Science City Teslagrad's psychotronic program, Sifter has a wide array of telepathic and image projective abilities. Ambitious and savagely cunning. he is using his position in Collective Alpha as a stepping stone to a seat on the Central committee. His chief obstacle is the team leader, the Winter Fox. 3.) Katyusha, a hyper kinetic Soviet system true believer and former young pioneer. The emotional heart of the team, she is looked after like a beloved little sister. Her youth and naively honest exuberance has made her a common site in Soviet State media. 4.) Jovia, altering, orphaned during the annexation of Czechoslovakia, she was brought to the U.S.S.R. and raised by the state and the scientists of Teslagrad. She is cold and antisocial knowing only the praise her density control powers bring from the state. (the name comes from a Villains and Vigilantes campaign 5.) Rampage, another product of Teslagrad's research, Misha was considered a mild failure as he suffered from autism. SIFTER WAS ABLE TO telepathically communicate with the passive giant and trigger violent outbursts of blind rage. Strategically, Rampage is led to a target and triggered from afar by sifter. Is also friendly around Katyusha. 6.) Borot, the robotic soldier was created by an American supervillain who defected after a plan to blackmail Washington DC with a nuclear weapon went awry. Borot was designed with immense strength, invulnerability, energy projection and the ability to communicate and control over any device employing modern computer technology, 7.) The Winter Fox, A true hero of the Soviet Union who sees the State's greatest strengths as well as ot's brutal failings. Trained by the Allies greatest fighters during World War two. the Winter Fox is a master of offense and skirmish tactics. His abilities are of the superagent variety augmented by the best technology the state can create, copy, or steal. His exposure to western "heroes" has made him politically suspect, a fact that resulted in Sifter being placed on the team as a minder and political officer. Sifter and the Fox are enemies of the most intense sort. http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-2/648957/CollectiveAlpha.jpg
  2. Re: CHAMPIONS OF THE NORTY -- What Would You Like To See? Some idea as to how Canada sees the elements of the Champs Universe differently from the US. Are they more strongly tied to Until, do they have closer ties to the UK, How do they handle super criminals and how did they react to the destruction of Detroit? Considering the vigilante nature of many superheroes, how often are cross border incidents occurring and how are they dealt with? Do supercriminals routinely use Canada as a good place to lay low? For specific sub genre campaigns, what are the high tech, mystic and crime scenes like? What, if any, are the local analogs or answers to Vibora Bay and or Millenium city? Best of luck on the eye surgery.
  3. Re: Hooligan_X and Proditor Present: "The Third Semi-Annual Great HERO Figure Contest Thank you both
  4. Re: Marvel's Ultimate Universe The Former Oscorp The colleection of nations that invaded the US in Ultimates two The Foundation that has collected all those child geniuses in the Baxter Building in Ultimate Fantastic Four Yhe Soviet era superhuman development program, now possibly defunct but those Red Dynamos in U2 came from somewhere Xavier's Institute Tony Stark's'scompany has built multiple suits of armor so they seem to be a serious player The Kree alien empire Whatever those Skrull like bad guys from Ultimates 1 were called, the Chitauri maybe?
  5. Re: Hooligan_X and Proditor Present: "The Third Semi-Annual Great HERO Figure Contest I'm gonna try for the Official Champs single and original team categories. Time has been scarce lately.
  6. Re: Champions Worldwide... Everywhere BUT The British Isles? Surbrook's Stuff has a few write ups for Gurps Wild Cards UK characters. They don't have bios but you might find them useful to have on hand. CAPTAIN FLINT http://surbrook.devermore.net/wildcards/cptflint.html FIONNE MACCOUL http://surbrook.devermore.net/wildcards/fionne.html KATE KELLY (Armid, The Cup Bearer) http://surbrook.devermore.net/wildcards/katekelly.html
  7. Re: Playing with characters provided by the GM It isn't uncommon for someone to bring a friend to one of our campaign games, so I like to have a few pregens on hand. Sometimes these drop ins stay for the rest of the campaign playing one of these characters. My advice for pregens: 1.) If you are going to use your own PCs as pregens don't be surprised when the players run them completely differently than you did or as the pc's psych lims might indicate. 2.) Unless it is a one shot game, I like to give the player some time to customize the pregen.
  8. Re: How good can your game be without supermonkeys? No worries... Thank you Proditor. That was the highlight of my day.
  9. Re: Hey Heroclix Modders... You probably already know this but dunking a fig you are about to cut on in hot water for 20 or so seconds makes cutting the plastic and glue much easier. I hope you'll post the mod when you are done.
  10. Re: Micro Heroes Even though they are Heroverse specific you should post these at the Mutants & Mastermind Mutant art page. Nice Work, Gronds good but the Foxbat is so on the money.
  11. Re: Ãœbermensch I tend to agree with Assault. I use the Nietzchean ethic, with a little social darwinism, to define the ethos of many a super villain, particularly the nazis. As a brief nod, we also call the extra chromosome that supers in my world have the Zarathustra chromosome but then it would be lettered Z if it existed in the real world and what else begins with z?

    New Clix

Re: New Clix A nice job Blue. I particularly like the Talisman, that pose is perfect! The transparent blouse sounds like a difficult trick to pull off but it looks good in the picture. Lady Crow is really cool to. You must have trimmed down the helm somewhat. I think you are going to get a lot of compliments at your game for this set.
  13. Re: Grand Re-opening of Proditor's Vehicle Picture Emporium!! Impressive array. Would you happen to know what the 1950s plane with the pair of parasites on the tail was called? Can't wait to see the other categories. Thanks
  14. Re: That flat cardboard tank doesn't look threatening... Whats the closest plastic model scale to 28 mm? At the local hobby store I found 1/48 scale tanks and ww2 Russian soldiers but would like to have some idea about scale before I plunk the money down. Thanks in advance
  15. Re: Champions Miniatures I mostly use Heroclix as they are cheap. easy to obtain in bulk, and have a wide variety of character types. DC Clix Policeman http://www.wizkidsgames.com/heroclix/dc/figuregallery.asp?unitid=2291 Marvel Swat team member http://www.wizkidsgames.com/heroclix/marvel/figuregallery.asp?unitid=3248 Marvel riotcop http://www.wizkidsgames.com/heroclix/marvel/figuregallery.asp?unitid=3247 DC clix goon http://www.wizkidsgames.com/heroclix/dc/figuregallery.asp?unitid=2474 Marvel Goon http://www.wizkidsgames.com/heroclix/marvel/figuregallery.asp?unitid=2113 Police Detectives http://www.wizkidsgames.com/heroclix/dc/figuregallery.asp?unitid=4816 or http://www.wizkidsgames.com/heroclix/dc/figuregallery.asp?unitid=4822 Argent or lab minions http://www.wizkidsgames.com/heroclix/marvel/figuregallery.asp?unitid=2684 For Viper agents I use Marvel clix Hydra agents, repainting them in brighter colors http://www.wizkidsgames.com/heroclix/marvel/figuregallery.asp?unitid=1964 http://www.wizkidsgames.com/heroclix/marvel/figuregallery.asp?unitid=1968
  16. Re: That flat cardboard tank doesn't look threatening... For any one needing WW2 vehicles and and soldiers in 1/48 here is a page I found. http://tamiya.com/english/products/mmv/index.htm
  17. Re: Proditor's workbench (More Champs miniature stuff) Its been too long since we've seen your work. You've been busy. Is the Krystal Nacht chr the one from Gurps IST? If so, the Emerald Alien Super Figs mini makes a great set of hands and head. http://www.westwindproductions.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=27_53&products_id=211
  18. Re: Death of Heroes Dead is dead to me and I like to see it that way in my campaigns unlike say Marvel death. If it was a magic campaign I don't see why you couldn't retrieve the soul and find a body but the lessened impact still waters down death defying heroism too much. As an example of a well done post mortem return, check out the first arc of the City of Heroes comic volume 2 by Mark Waid. It had a well done mini quest tied to a ressurection.
  19. Re: NPC's From Old 'Space Gamer' Modules Very nice of you LL, as always.

  21. Re: NPC's From Old 'Space Gamer' Modules School Holiday, written by Aaron Allston, was redone by the same into the gurps module "School of Hard Knocks". He used to have 4th edition write ups of the characters on his website. I think I have the issues you mentioned as well as one you didn't mention in storage. Let me know if you are interested and I'll look for them this weekend.
  22. Re: Golden Age Champions Steve Jackson Games have several WW2 Gurps supplements that cover non US forces and while they are more skill heavy than Hero, service packages should translate across just fine. They haven't done much with the super angle but the real world stuff is there. Godlike probably covers some of the same ground.
  23. Re: Best published adventure Tournament of the Dragon is basically a Champs/martial arts enemies book with a over arcing campaign. It is fourth edition and martial artist specific, natch.
  24. Re: Mystic Masters campaign (old vs. new) In MM, the Clairsentience type of Astral forms can be hit by ego based attacks, can not normally effect or be effected bypeople who are desolid by a "non-magical" super power, and are effected by the advantage "effects desolid". A Astral form could be destroyed by any suppress or drain, leaving the physical body alive but unable to use it's astral form until the drain wears off. Ego attacks do both stun and body to the astral form and killing it kills the physical self as well.
