  1. So, watching some MLK Day basketball before the football. From the CBS crawl: What we learned from the Wild Card Round, Day 2: Dak, Cowboys remain frauds. That isn't a word I expect to see outside the rabble-rouser talking heads. And now we get a CBS broadcast...which means Romo. He probably won't rip the Boys, Dak, or McCarthy, but I'm curious to hear how far he'll go. It's too much of an elephant in the room for him NOT to comment.
  2. No, that's not a direction of motion it's built for, but hopefully, it wasn't forced *too* far in that direction. They generally don't show busted bones...that are suddenly at 45-90 degree angles from where they're supposed to be. There's nothing visibly disturbing...well, except that we know that HAS to hurt a ton, so I expect many of us wince sympathetically...or graphic there, fortunately, and Higbee's life wasn't at risk. Heh. Wish I'd made a Lasts Longer bet. Which Texas team will be playing the latest in the season? Or, same bet...between the Lions and Cowboys? At the start of the season.
  3. You have momentum as you breach, where does that go? If you buy your Swimming as Usable as Leap, then on *dry ground* your inches of swimming apply to your leap, as well. There's no suggestion that's desired.
  4. Belichick is out there...and the internet's exploding with rumors/hopes. This is typical: https://www.si.com/nfl/cowboys/news/dallas-cowboys-fire-mike-mccarthy-jerry-jones-reacts-playoff-loss-statement-im-floored And as you say, McCarthy was totally humiliated. They win the division in 21...and lose in the WC round, at home...to the lowest seed in the NFC. Then they do it again...spectacularly. I'll grant that Garrett lasted much longer, with similar criticism and much worse performance overall, so sure, McCarthy may survive...but if so, next year? He'll start the year with the hottest coaching seat in the NFL.
  5. The backup QB is in for the Packers...marking the 2nd game in the 3 playoff games so far. Jordan Love tosses a perfect passer rating. Packers score TDs on *5 straight* possessions...19 yards, but then 93, 75, 75, and 48. This result isn't shocking, it's utterly unbelievable. And utterly DELIGHTFUL!!!! I had ESPN Bet on for a bit. Comments were...Aaron Jones won't get 74 yards because the Packers aren't going to have the lead for 73% of their snaps. Oh yeah? This is a flat-out Mike Tyson shot square to the face for the Cowboys, despite the late scores.| EDIT: and Greg Olsen was questioning things like how far back the Cowboy safeties were, letting Jones run the ball for good yardage. Mike McCarthy's in-game calls have been questioned for a LONG time...back in Green Bay, and multiple times in Dallas. 12 regular season wins...who <bleeping> cares? TERRIBLE performances in the playoffs, this one being one of the worst *ever* considering the situation. Totally unprepared, totally outcoached, totally outplayed. It is, IMO, entirely possible that Mike McCarthy is going to be fired.
  6. Subs have a VERY low vertical velocity component, even on an emergency climb, don't they? And the way they breach the water...the nose, breaching first, starts falling too. While the water's still dragging rest. Actually, if you want to be stricter...I wasn't quite thinking. The vertical velo part is fine...but is that velo *per phase* or *per segment*? The falling table uses per segment velocity. If its 20 per phase, then it's a LOT lower per segment when he breaches, and at that point...it'd probably be fine to say his vertical limit equals his vertical velocity per segment.
  7. I've hesitated to say this, not wanting to jinx anything but.......I doubt the Broncos could blow it from here... SAY IT WITH ME EVERYONE!!!! HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. So, LW, you're saying their velo instantly drops from 40 to 0? That's not intuitive. The built-up velocity exists, and it makes more sense to honor it. First...if his horizontal move is 40, his pure-vertical move should probably be 20, analogous to Flight and Leap. Then...what I'd say is the vertical velo remains, but there's no way for him to change it. He's in "free fall" going UP. His max height would be the converse of the fall...so...6E2 141. His current velo on exiting the water is 20, so he continues up for 2 segments, maxing out at 30m above the water. A tad less generous would be he goes up his average velo...20->10, or 15, then 10->0, or 5...so a max of 20 meters. That's more accurate in terms of physics, but RAW goes a tad simpler.
  9. And hey, Houston did it all thanks to creative use of all those lovely draft picks the Browns gave them.
  10. Yeah...it's hard to imagine that the Chiefs play in warmer weather *in Buffalo* next week, assuming the Bills win............
  11. "self-deposes"? Weird, misleading term...translation issues, perhaps. Wikipedia article references numerous health concerns, tho, so it's understandable.
  12. Sue you for disliking the Cowboys???? Whatever for? The Athletic noted that the Dolphins went 1-6 vs. playoff teams....Bills (28 road, 7 home), Eagles (14), Chiefs in Frankfurt (7), Ravens (39), and Chiefs again. They beat the Cowboys...but the Cowboys on the road are inconsistent, at best. The Fins benefitted from a schedule that turned out to be notably softer than expected...Pats twice, Jets twice, Broncos when they were the worst team in the league, Giants, Commanders, Panthers. That's a lot of bottom feeding.
  13. And just gauging from the game info page, Miami basically can't sustain offense. Down 3 scores, inside 6 minutes? Pretty much over, and looking good for the under... Just a friendly PSA, remember, no early game tomorrow.
  14. octopi, ocelots, and orangutans
  15. The comment I heard is that there may well be many people who subscribe...maybe binge a few things...then cancel before the month expires. Accuweather snow forecast for Buffalo is 2-3 feet, with about 3/4 of an inch, to an inch per hour, starting late tonight, and continuing through Monday afternoon, but not as heavy Monday.
  16. And Flacco gets steamrolled again. He doesn't deserve that, for sure. Yeah...other than the game-breaker then back-breaker pick 6's...Texans defense holds Browns to less than 3 yards per rush. Throw in 4 sacks of Flacco, and the picks were practically inevitable. Back to basketball. HECK NO, I'm not buying even a single month of Peacock. NBC's seeing if they can get us to buy it. The days of mostly-free football are likely numbered, but I'm not going to help kill them.
  17. BACK to BACK!!! Clock strikes midnight for Flacco. Boom shakalaka, 38-14 Texans suddenly!
  18. Ah, yes. When you read the listings in HD, the extra DCs do get included. You must also have set it to a weapon, so it shows Weapon +N DC. If the maneuver's an empty hand maneuver, you'll see the damage from STR.
  19. Oh my... Couple hours til game time, the NBC guys are out on the field at Arrowhead... the FROZEN!!! field...with ice and snow still on it...and every breath, every word spoken making a cloud. It's going to be utterly miserable. Meanwhile, so far so good in Houston...
  20. Yeah, I remember that too. But they didn't disappear, IMO, they just pulled back until times were more favorable...and diversified into multiple 'causes.'
  21. GA, I don't think you broke any laws...but ChatGPT probably is. The rules are copyrighted. HD is copyrighted. I doubt ChatGPT has permission. Also, in at leas the skills...it's moronic and, I think in several cases, WRONG. There's also no consideration whatsoever for END, and some of these will *burn through* END. Others...how does 15m Teleport with just x4 Mass come out to 75 points? Several others look wrong...and I think the entire package is wrong. This: Illusion (Sight, Hearing, Touch) 8d6 (40 points), Area Effect (2m Radius; +1/4) (10 points), Constant (+1/2) (20 points), Selective (+1/4) (10 points), Uncontrolled (+1/2) (20 points), No Range (-1/2) (-10 points). Total: 90 points. No Range is completely mis-applied; I'm not even sure WHAT it's being applied to. I think getting the ideas for powers...that's interesting. But its use of copyrighted material is not, and its *gross* mistakes render it useless. Note that there's already some major players suing the AI companies for using copyrighted material to train their AI models without permission.
