  1. Re: Star Wars Hero: Advice please... Thanks again, everybody. This has given me plenty of ideas.
  2. Re: WWE Non-Snark Free Zone Amen brother! That was the thing that really got me when Hogan and company came on board, symbolized very well by his introduction of the "New" Impact Zone. "Gee, how original and innovative. They've replaced the six-sided ring with a square one." Just said to me that the new direction was going to be eliminating everything that made TNA a true alternative to WWE, instead of just the wrestling show that's on Thursday nights.
  3. Re: WWE Non-Snark Free Zone Here's a question: Who would you say is the most under-rated pro wrestler of all time? Who, in your opinion, just never got their due? For me, it would have to be Arn Anderson.
  4. Re: WWE Non-Snark Free Zone On another topic, what do the rest of you think of the current state of TNA? Personally, I liked it much better before Hogan came onboard. Although I am looking forward to a bif Samoa Joe push. But then, it seems like I've been looking forward to that for a long time.
  5. Re: WWE Non-Snark Free Zone I admit I was psyched by the Miz/Lawler match, especially those times when it looked like the King was gonna pull it off. I've laways enjoyed watching him wrestler, especially when he's beating down some young punk who's too full of himself. Kind of makes you wonder where they're gonna go with it next, though. As far as Lawler's interaction with Michael Cole from now on, I mean. I would love to see Lawler decide he can't work with Cole anymore, and step back inot the ring full-time. After all, he did almost beat the WWE champion last night.
  6. Re: Star Wars Hero: Advice please... Thank you both. Looking it over now.
  7. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares The goggles!! They do nothing!!!
  8. I'm thinking of running a Star Wars game in the Hero system, and I thought I'd ask Herodom Assembled for some advice. If you've done this before; how many points/disads did you give the PCs? How did that work for you? How did you do Force powers; VPP, Mutipower, or just have them buy each one individually? How much damage for various weapons? All help appreciated.
  9. Re: Running for a Villain Team I have decided a simple way to get a villain team together. Each PC has a heroic nemesis. These heroes have just formed a team. Now, the PCs have to cooperate or they're each as good as in jail.
  10. Re: Naming the first superhero Kill the Dude with the Thing!!!
  11. Re: Online Champions games... anyone seen/played them? I run a Champions game every other Saturday morning, using Second Life to gather my group. If you don't know SL, check it out at www.secondlife.com. If anyone's interested in a game that involves superheroes played through different comic book/historical ages, PM me. We're currently in the Pulp ASge, getting ready in a few adventures, to advance to the Golden Age.
  12. Re: Naming the first superhero Was the campaign world the same as the real world up until then? The same comic books and everything? If so, a good name for the first superhero (especially a flying brick), could be Archetype.
  13. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine I am SO stealing this for my campaign!
  14. Re: How do you use The Champions in your campaign? It has varied, depending on my campaign. But this time around, I'm probably not going to use them at all. When we get to the appropriate time-period, the PC team is more than welcome to use the name, though, as it's a great name for a hero-team.
  15. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Wow.....that is six different kinds of cool.
  16. Re: The Greatest American Hero Well, somebody should.
  17. Re: '70s TV Supers OMG, whos' the necromancer? The bad thing is, reading all this again puts the idea back in my head. Maybe I'll have to ask my players what they think.
  18. Re: Super Wrestlers Are you wanting stats or just ideas? Some are easy; Undertaker: Brick with enhanced agility and a magic VPP. Kane: Same as his brother but replace the magic with fire-control. Abyss: Monster Brick. Sting: Enhanced agility and strength, stealth, duplication. Ric Flair: World's greatest wrestler...wait, that's the real Ric Flair. Hulk Hogan: Demi-Brick with illusion powers that make peope think he's a LOT better than he actually is. Etc...
  19. Re: Campaign I dea; Tangent Champions I like the one for Krypto, very much. I was trying to come up with something for Jonah Hex.
  20. Re: Campaign I dea; Tangent Champions That would make it too close to the original version.
  21. Re: Campaign I dea; Tangent Champions Deadman: A small-time thug for hire returns from the dead with dramatic new supernatural powers. But who brought him back? Why? Where do these powers come from? And why is he now targeting his former associates for death? Martian Manhunters: These automatons are left over from the "War of The Worlds" invasion. Programmed to hunt down and kill Human Resistance fighters, they are armed with anti-personell heat rays, explosives, and numerous blades. Colossus: Young Peter Parker pilots the amazing Colossus robots. Each is incredibly strong and highly armored, as well as packed with weapons. Parker currently has access to three different robots for various missions; the 20' tall Mark I, the 100' tall Mark II, and the incredibly powerful 500' tall Mark III (reserved for battling Kaiju).
  22. Re: Campaign I dea; Tangent Champions Mister Fantastic: In 1938, archeaologist Ted Kord discovers an ancient temple in Egypt. Inside, he finds the fabled Bracers of Ra, which give him the invincible powers of the sun god; superhuman strength and resilience, the gift of flight, a nearly impenatrable force field, and the ability to project concentrated solar energy from his hands. He uses these abilities to become the greatest hero of the Golden Age, Mr. Fantastic. Lois Lane: Activist, senator, supervillain. Lois Lane is a prominent member of Congress, as well as a vocal advocate of the Brotherhood of Mutants, the world's leading superhuman-rights organization. In secret, she is also the Oracle, future-predicting member of the Secret Six, a cabal of immortals who have sought to conquer all the Earth for centuries. The Brotherhood of Evil: An all-male villain team whos' members are dedicated to spreading, chaos, corruption, and misery around the world. Members include; Brother Voodoo- Voodoo priest. Brother Blood- Vampire. Brother Power- Wizard.
  23. Re: Campaign I dea; Tangent Champions The X-Men: A group of supers (haven't decided yet whether they're heroes who rebelled or villains who still work for her) created by Dr. Strange (see first post). Each of them is an animal-human hybrid with names that end in either Man or Woman. Members include: Batman, Catwoman, Hawkman, Owlman, Catman, and Spider-Woman.
  24. Re: Campaign I dea; Tangent Champions Wonder Man and Wonder Woman: A husband and wife team of inventor/crimefighters. Use many hi-tech gadgets of their own design; most notably jet-packs, force-field belts, and their greatest invention, the Wonder Glove. The Wonder Glove is a high-tech gauntlet capable of controlling energy for a variety of effects, including energy blasts, tractor beams, force walls, and others. Their teenage daughter carries on the family tradition as Wonder Girl.
