  1. I've searched around in 5ER and the FAQ but can't find a definitive answer (because I haven't looked hard enough probably) but: 1) Can you Dispel the Stun (or END) characteristic as a legal (but not necessarily GM approved) build? Note: Not an END Reserve (power) but END (characteristic). 2) What would be the effect of a Dispel Stun (why not use a 20D6 Dispel Stun as an example... it's only 60 AP) in combat? Any different to out of combat? 3) What would be the effect of applying the Cumulative advantage to Dispel Stun (use 13D6 Cumulative... same reason as above)? I have my own ideas how they might work but won't include them to keep things streamlined. Thanks. And Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Steve - hope the new place is working out. Pet the cat for me.

  6. Re: Making Memorable Mooks! I haven't read the article, but from experience giving them names works well too (usually first names, but Mr So-and-so is good). It personalises them and players react accordingly.
  7. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Nah - this is pleasure They can study Home and Away and Big Brother
  8. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Doctor Who, New Series, Entire Second Series Doctor Who, New Series, Third Series... about 6 episodes in or so Battlestar Galactica, New Series, Mini Series Thats about it.
  9. Re: The artwork drives me nuts I think the whole thread above goes over it from the 'appeal to new or casual users' angle, but in short (so you don't feel lonely): I with you agree wholeheartedly. For me, the layout of the way information and artwork is presented is much more important. If I can't read a book easily or find the information I'm looking for quickly and that becomes a consistent product-line-wide flaw then I will very quickly stop playing it. And also a moment to give kudos to whoever proofs these things for HERO. Given the phenomenal amount of words written, the number of errors is incredibly low. Well done whomever!
  10. Re: Conversion of M&M Archetypes as HDC files Actually, I quite liked it
  11. Re: Wild Card's Hero Or she could have a UAA, Affects Real World, 1" Teleport or something similar...

  13. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? UFO boxed set? Bought it at J&B HiFi in Osborne Park. Released in Australia through Umbrella Entertainment (http://www.umbrellaent.com.au). It looks and sounds really good - nice clean images, nice bright colours, crisp sound with good bass too.
  14. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Last night I watched: Paris, J'et Taime - some really good stories in this collection of short films, but I found the 'unending' short narratives annoyed me. Office Space (again) - it was fun to re-watch. It never fails to make me smile or make me feel better about work. Today: UFO - Disc One of Eight from the boxed set. A great old British TV series that really has some quite dark concepts. One being that in 1980 everyone would dress like they were in the 60s
  15. Re: Champions aliens: best source? Was Worlds of Empire mentioned? I've found that a great sourcebook for all levels and types of game. A good non-Hero product to get the juices flowing is the old Atlas of the DC Universe for DC Heroes if you can find it.
  16. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Well, at least NOW we know what the Cloverfield monster looks like... and why they've tried to keep the images secret Nicely odd

  21. Re: X-Men: The Next Generation campaign on Hero Central Can I play? How's this for an idea... I'd like to play the son of Justice (Vance Astrovik) and Firestar (Angelica Jones). Steven Astrovik - Victory. EDIT: I know that neither were X-Men, but both parents were mutants and I thought it would be nice to play the 'silver spoon/finding out about his roots' subplot as well (Mutant Guy"What do you know about being a mutant? You know nothing about persecution! Your Dad was an Avenger, your mom retired and led a normal life, and your god-father was an actual thunder god! Come back and tell me about you being a mutant when you've endured what 99% of us have had to deal with every freakin' day of our lives!")
  22. Re: Magistrate's end [story] I'm a fan too - and I still want those write-ups! I like the pacing on this one too - well done

  24. Re: Susano's Guide to Adapting Fictional Characters to HERO I think it's got a nice beat and you can dance to it.... I give it 7.8.
