  1. Re: I need a function! "Banding by the Star" is the name given to the unique golden carbuncle found by miners in central Germany in 1937. At the time, the faint, grey bands of darker material within the stone appeared to form a Swastika, and the highly patriotic miners gave it as a gift to their Fuhrer, Adolf Hitler. The stone was kept in Hitler's private vault. Rumour has it that the stone glowed brightly twice - when Hitler left to tour bomb sites in 1942, and again when he left to meet with his generals in 1944, and was almost killed by the Generals' Plot. After Hitler's death, the stone was seized by US servicemen, and for a time resided in the Smithsonian Institute. Oddly, the shadowy bands now formed a five-pointed star. It glowed once in this period - for the entire period when President John Kennedy was in Dallas prior to his assassination. The gem's current wherabouts is unknown; it was stolen by agents of the East German government upon it's return to West Germany in 1970. The bands had changed to a simple three-stripes configuration with the handover, but what configuration they now hold is as much a mystery as to where the gem went. The Tri-Hierophant Rods
  2. Re: WWYCD: Fundamentalist against non-tech supers. Terminus would ignore him - knowing who your creator is is a bit of a wet rag on religious feelings - until or unless he starts to interfere in his or his friends' activities. Then he'd smack the guy flat.
  3. Re: WWYCD: Hi! We're your Sidekicks! Terminus would sit them down, explain that to be like him they would have to dedicate themselves to the ideals of his Earth's Earth Directorate, undergo at least two years of intensive training, and abandon their citizenship, and then serve a minimum of five years in the war against the Disruption. Anyone still willing after that - on to basic training...
  4. Re: What I learned playing a blaster! No matter how much of a support character you see yourself as, make sure you have enough Stun and Defenses to take the occsional hit. Our EP is going to get an unfortunate nickname - like "Sleepy" or "Dozy" - if he doesn't stop getting blatted at the start of fights...
  5. Re: Xenovores *Possible Spoilers* But Davros didn't create the physical forms of the Daleks; he just modified what the Kaleds were going to end up as anyway (or what he believed they would become; it's become quite clear that Davros wasn't anywhere near as smart as he thought he was). Does Alien Wars have any data on what the precursor race was like? It's possible the Xenovores aren't that different from the originals.
  6. Re: Just another sci-fi monster Eh. I've seen a lot bigger.
  7. Re: Favorite general types of SF weapons Limpet-Bore Torpoedoes. The Kor-Lyan's ace in the hole.
  8. Re: Classic Sci-Fi Novels for Scenario Ideas If you want something a little dark and unusual, try basing a campaign off of Moorcock's Jerry Cornelius novels (The Final Programme et al).
  9. Re: Favorite general types of SF weapons I prefer standard or Gyroc rifles - with seeker heads. Multiple options are nice too - so that you can fire into an area and have the round choose it's target, or dial in a specific heat signature to nail one guy in a crowd. Or put in an exclusion category - no target under five feet tall, say (no more risk of hitting a kid).
  10. Re: Need a name for.. A little too Third Reich, I think - but on the same lines, howabout Option Omega?
  11. Re: Single Green Superhero seeks.... (personels for your characters) Terminus isn't interested - he has a girlfriend - but if something happened... SMGEEDE (Single Male Genetically Engineered Extra-Dimensional Entity) seeks female partner for romance and sex. Physical strength and durability a plus. Highly patriotic persons and members of the Disruption need not apply.

  13. Re: Alien Conversions Hmm, your write up doesn't mention that modern Kzin females are sub-sapient. Personally, I'm going to have a go at the critters from When the Devil Dances.
  14. Re: The thing's I've learned playing a Brick... The Martial Artist can't pull a dodge if he attacked you this segment.
  15. Re: Favorite Sci-Fi Weapon Morgaine's Sword (it has a name, but I can't think of it just now) from the Chronicles of Morgaine. It has a warp gate of extremely tiny dimensions in it's tip. As long as it's in it's scabbard, it's perfectly safe. But as soon as it's pulled out, the gate starts sucking everything in. Everything. Worse, at one point she intimates that the gate doesn't actually go anywhere - just away. If the blade is pointed at you, there's no way to retaliate - anything pointed her way goes into the gate. And unless you run away right quick, that'll include you...
