Blue got a reaction from Pariah in Monday Morning Music Trios
Big Bad Moon - Joe Satriani. Reminds me of my misspent post-youth. I was a huge Satch fan and this came out right after I'd left home and moved in with roommates and played RPGs way too much to do anything else right. I miss it.
Walking on the Moon - The Police. Why do good bands have to implode?
Song About the Moon - Paul Simon... because... DUH!

What? Destroy geek cred? Well... okaaaaay...!
Never watched Babylon Five.
When I was a kid I hated Dr. Who (It looked so cheap!). So recently I decided to finally catch a new episode. Better production values but I still didn't care.
I've seen half of two Harry Potter movies and never read a single one of the books. Looks fine. No objections. I just can't bring myself to enthusiasm.
Haven't read more than a chapter of a book in six years. Can't keep my attention on it! Maybe I need pills... I'm seeing a pattern.
I despise transformers. New movies, old tv show, etc. I feel like Tom Hanks in BIG. "I don't get it! It changes into a building! Who wants to play with a building?" It changes into car... wasn't it cooler as a robot than as a volkswagen?

Blue got a reaction from L. Marcus in The "Nice Happy" Thread
Re: The "Nice Happy" Thread
A brief story about nothing
By Blue
There were film trailiers parked across the street from work. This is not the first time. I'm located in a downtown area across from a 100 year old court building that's in beautiful shape.
Last time they filmed there it was some B-movie. Before that was some scenes from the live action/animated mix movie Rocky & Bullwinkle. I have a beautiful photo on my desk of a dear (and now deceased) friend taken when Catch me if you Can was being filmed there; She's standing just behind Spielberg & Hanks, while Stephen displays proudly his leatherbound script for the camera.
So I'm eager to find out what's going on. Nobody seems to know or even have noticed the trailers.
Lunch time finally comes! So I jaunt down the 9 flights of stairs (because an elevator at lunch could be a long wait) and stroll over. I spy a cop standing guard over the site. I stroll up to him.
"Hi. What are they filming today?"
"Oh. Uh. Taco Bell Commercial."
"Really?" I rhetorically ask, disappointed inside but sounding mildly excited about it. Not gonna be any stars to ask about then. But because of the unexpected enthusiasm I displayed for no reason, I can't resist but follow up with, "Is the Chihauaha here?!?!"
The cop looks at me blank faced. No sense of humor at all.
So I came back to the office. It occurs to me then that I should have yelled "Yo Quiero Taco Bell!" a few times to see if it answered from one of the trailers.
But it's probably a good thing I didn't think of that; I'm allergic to nightstick beatings.

Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread.
I have given Storn now over 20 commissions since 2004 when I started.
15 of these are shown as examples on the site under Fresh Drawings, Doodles and Private Commissions. I am rather touched by this.

Re: City of Heroes - Online Hero Game
In CoV or CoH?
You have to be 10th in either, I believe.
In CoH, you go to city hall in Atlas, to the registrar (behind the desk inside the entrance).
In CoV, there's a building that's hard to give directions to (Especially from memory). Here's how I go there: When you are in Port Oakes, at the Quartermaster, face to face with him, you go right until you come across the inclined road (It should slope down to your left). Follow it all the way to the bottom where it ends at some stairs up. There's usually some "family" on the stairs. At the top of the stairs is a building; Inside is the registrar. Same one does super-bases.

On the table where the GM's kids were playing, are a number of toys, including a doll of "Woody" from Toy Story. Two of the players on the couch play with them while the GM talks.
About ten minutes later, we encounter a goddess (It's an exalted game) in the swamp. She barters that for a kiss she'll show us the way to the temple. Our barbarian, who is known as a lothario who has left a trail of satisfied goddesses across the landscape of the world, steps up and kisses her.
At which point, another player turns to said player, who is holding the doll, and says, "Um... You might want to put your Woody away."

Re: A Thread for Random Musings
A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."
The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're 30 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude."
She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be a Democrat."
"I am," replied the man. "How did you know?"
"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me."
The man smiled and responded, "You must be a Republican."
"I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know?"
"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, then you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met but, somehow, now it's my fault."
