  2. Re: [Character for Review] Marksman All kinds cool stuff! I'm borrowing like mad. But - - - who's David??
  3. Re: "Crumbling Carrots, we've been animal-morphitized!" Ooooh! Crushed, the Doomed Kitty. I love her! That pic is sooo funny; yeah, she's one kinky kitty.
  4. Re: "Crumbling Carrots, we've been animal-morphitized!" PhuzzKitty! Once a fat and lonely teenager in a Universe Far Far Away, she's now one of the premeer (and HOTTEST) superheroines around. Basically, get rid of the humanish-looking bits, and she's set. Man, I could sooooo get into a side-game like this!
  5. Re: WWYCD: Fans and cons PhaseKitty would go to a con, for sure! Especially the yearly PhaseKonny! Yes, there's a con devoted to her! Which is run by her fan-club corporation. Yeah, she's incorporated herself, has an Official Fan Club, with franchises, Official Merch, the whole deal. No other con has yet been willing to pay what she charges for an Official Appearance, that or not been willing to agree to her terms. Course, she's sneaked into a few cons under an assumed name. She really likes checkin' out the cosplayers trying to "be" her; never seen one as good looking, but some been pretty d**ned hot! She likes to give those gals "pointers". She's got an Official Web-site, course. And some licensed ones are out there. She finds an unlicensed one, she lands like a ton of bricks! Sounds mercenary? Hey, her whole team lives off the money she pulls in. And there's a lot of charities that would be hurtin' without the $$$ she pours in. There's advantages to being the most popular super on Earth (so says People Mag, and they should know, right? )
  6. Re: What would your inner geek pick?
  7. Re: What would your inner geek pick? I'd be an omnimorph. Gotta use The Ultimate Metamorph for this one. Simplifed Shape Shift (TUMM p.50) at the "any form" level. If Mental SS not included, I'll need Mental Images with the "stuck to me" option. Alter Density (TUMM p.26) for 40 points with the "Either Way" advantage. And buy some extra "BODY through" probably +7. Extra Limbs, if I can change what & how many. Alter Size (TUMM p.53) with the "Either Way" advantage. I'm not sure how many points; 40 might be nuff, or maybe 50. Stretching, Flight, Leaping, Running, Swimming, couple others in a Multipower. Might need enough MP points to have two slots at once; or make 'em all multis. Need a MP or VPP for stats, skills, other stuff. "Only to imitate form" Limitation?? I don't know if I can keep that in the point limits you gave, but that's what *I* want.
  8. Re: Superhero idea: The Cycler I once was in a humor campaign with some charries like this. Only one I really remember was The Housewife. She had a HA: Rolling Pin, a HKA: Frying Pan, a Dispel: Vacuum Cleaner (DustDevil kind; carryable and battery power), PRE Attack (Mom-nagging), and like that. Very funny.

  10. Re: Help with a character: She knows she's in a comic book Oh! Now this sounds different than your first post. That sounded like the charrie really did have contact with the real world. This sounds like someone like Boxed-Fat, but with powers to back up her claim, even though she's as wack as him. That's a fun idea, but yeah, only in a silly campaign.
  11. Re: WWYCD: Snakes on the Plane! I'm a bit confused: is it OK to post what a character with "Social Limitation: Famous" would do? PhaseKitty is well known, and has no Flight, so she could be on a plane (tho' more likely using the team vehicle, it could happen). If it's cool to answer for her, I think she'd gasp, make the sort of remarks a cutsy girl would, but not completely freak or go all coward. Then, she'd get herself in hand, go Desolid, and start clawing them to death as fast as possible.
  12. Re: WWYCD if their reflection suddenly winked at them? What would I do? Play my character! duh. PhaseKitty would watch to see if the "reflection" does anything else, then report it all to the rest of the team. She'd be sure it was something about Alternate Earth universes, and they seem to understand that stuff better.
  13. Re: WWYCD: Whoa! Ninjas! "Oooo! Those are ninjas, aren't they?! Hey, this is fun! Wait, they're hurting peeps! That is definately uncool. I guess it's time to do hero-type stuff! Hang on peeps, PhaseKitty will rescue you with her Big Hitty Stick!" Big smile, slight laugh, and charges into combat. After going Desolid, switching the slot on the Big Hitting Stick Multipower to the HA with Affects Solid World. Yeah, a Desolid fighter with Affects Solid World on her STR and a +4d6 HA, and a passable Bojutsu Martial Art. If the HA doesn't put them down, or if too many of them have wooden weapons (she's effected by wood when Desolid), there's always the 1/2d6 HKA, with Affects Solid World, and "Blink Phasing" (+8 DCV, not versus "Affects Solid World" attacks) Man, she's going to enjoy fighting ninja. I mean, it's just so appropriate for a catgirl to do, right?
  14. Re: Superpowered Worlds Not a useful comparison. It is necessary to haul the grain home, the veggies to market, etc. You use a cart. A person could do so, but draft animals make it soooo much more convenient. Thus, the tech for horse-hauling is invented. This sort of "soo much more convenient" thing drives tech development. It is not necessary to cut butter; it isn't even necessary to have butter. Butter-cutting-gadgets level of shtuff won't drive technology. You're talking about these übermuscles like they won't have the drive to make tech to do things they can do but that are hard to do. Or like they're such über-übermuscles they can haul any size wagon into town themselves. After all, if they can haul a wagon of X kg themselves, why not get draft animals to haul one of 10X kg? Similarly, if they can thresh Z m³ of grain per hour, why not make a machine (them powered, animal powered, water powered) to thresh 25Z m³ per hour? Same for wood cutting, dirt digging, etc. I can't see a race of sapients who wouldn't want to get important jobs done easier and faster.
  15. Re: Need some help with teleporting character concept.
  16. Re: Character IS the contact I'd say it's probably best to go with Trebuchet, et al.'s idea, and call it part of having a Contact. However, if the person who can use your charrie as a Contact is not a Contact for your charrie, that's another thing totally. Is that what you're talking about? If so, I'd say make it a minor Psych Lim, or a minor Social Lim. BTW, you said
  17. Re: Need some help with teleporting character concept. Get yourself The Ultimate Speedster! It's not just about fast folx, it's about supers that move unusually. It's got a section on Teleportation Powers that sounds like just what you need. The in&out move you want is in there, done as: Game Information: Stretching 8", Does Not Cross Intervening Space (+¼) (50 Active Points); No Noncombat Stretching (-¼), No Velocity Damage (-¼), Instant (-½). Total cost: 25 points You'll note this allows him to "jump" somewhere, pick something up, and "jump" back, which is a cool extra. Your second idea is in there too, done as an EB that's Triggered by Teleporting and wanting to "hit on the move". It's got a range limited to his Teleporting distance. Sorry, can't help with "abort to dive for cover with teleport"
  18. Re: Superpowered Worlds Nope. People can carry plenty. People can drag carts. People can pull plows, even, and have done so when "ol' Betsy done up and died." They didn't need draft animals when they first domesticated them. The "need" grew by having. Draft animals were/are used because they're convenient. Technology does not get used because it is practical, but because it is desired. Less than wonderfully well working technology DOES get put into use. If that weren't so, "damn all" technology would ever get used. People are as interested in convenience as in need. Unless, of course, the übermuscloids have completely different motivation than Homo sapiens sapiens.
  19. Re: The "Classic" Elements Don't mind at all; it's cool. Yeah, that's what I meant. Sorry, Oh Palindromedarian, that I confused you.
  20. Re: The "Classic" Elements How about up, down, strange, charm, truth, and beauty? OK, not classical or old or that shtuff. But you got to admire a "building blocks of the universe" that includes Truth and Beauty.
  21. Re: Life Support: Longevity? OMG! I didn't know Hap Shaughnessy is an elf!
  22. Re: The "Classic" Elements I've seen Native American symbols with four colors, and I think I remember something about they have to do with four directions or four elements or something like that. Sorry I'm so vague.
  23. Re: Life Support: Longevity? Jeebus, couldn't he stay somewhere close to The Real World™'s True History™?
