  1. Extra-dimensional movement, to any dimension, 0 END, No Conscious Control. You'd be wandering endlessly from world to world, without any reliable way to get (and stay) home.
  2. Well, he did have stats, but nobody remembers them.
  3. Harry Endo was a simple police crime scene investigator before a piece of broken glass at a crime scene tore his latex glove, exposing him to a mutagen that gave him unusual psionic powers that are all unfortunately based on touch. He can read minds, alter perceptions, and even impose his will on others, but his most famous talent is psychometry. ("This tire track? The getaway vehicle was a 1994 Ford Mustang that needs a wheel alignment. It also has a slight transmission fluid leak. Runs a bit rough, could use a tuneup. Front windshield is cracked on the passenger side. License number is DWE-218, Ohio plates...") His official code name is Mindtouch, but his teammates nicknamed him Psy Spy.
  4. Wouldn't this more appropriately be 2x 3-point Offensive Penalty Skill Levels?
  5. Here's someone to have fun with.
  6. It's less busy than the first one (which honestly seems more like a back cover than a front cover). Much better with the apocalyptic background. Personally, I'd use a slightly smaller font for callouts to Steve Perrin and Heroic Publishing (and shrink the logo for Heroic Publishing to match). Preferably combined them at the bottom (From the creations of Steve Perrin and the comics of Heroic Publishing). Should be "Rated M for Muerte."
  7. Assuming we're using "power" to mean "Power" (as in, no Talents or Perks). Call Guardian Angel: Major Transform 3d6 (normal person to person with Luck 4d6). Should protect those I love and care about from a fair number of normal dangers, and help them with many of life's hurdles.
  8. Shrinking 6 Levels, 0 END, Persistent, Always On Sure, you could become the ultimate spy. You'd also be effectively alone the rest of your life, surrounded by giants. Really, any "Always On" power would (or theoretically should) suck to some degree.
  9. Telepathy, AoE, Always On. Perhaps I'm uniquely strange, but when I think about the sheer crap that runs through my head on a daily basis, and then imagine someone having to listen to all of that, from everybody around him, without any filters. Knowing what everybody really thinks about you, without social niceties. I'd imagine you'd either go insane or grow to hate all of humanity.
  10. "It's a sign, all right. A Going Out of Business sign!" New Topic: How your favorite Champions Universe supervillain(s) will respond to the coming US East Coast blizzard.
  11. On the other side of the coin, I don't think 6E has really streamlined play (nor has it made it too much more complex*). To me, most changes were in the "fixing problematic rules" realm, as well as the granularity and control that GA covers quite well. *One area that I didn't expect to screw us up as much as it did, was switching from 2m hexes to straight meters. We use hex maps for combat; if I draw the map at 1m hexes, the result is zoomed in and doesn't cover as much ground. If using 2m hexes, people consistently try going twice as far as their characters are able, mess up range mods (the HD sheets list the breakpoints at meters), etc.
  12. To add to the excellent points Tasha and HM have made: Replacing Force Wall with Barrier makes it actually possible to create decent walls (energy or real) without taking out a new mortgage on the Bat Cave. Decoupling OCV and DCV, as well as SPD, from DEX should avoid artificially driving up DEX values. (We had a DEX Arms Race in one campaign.) Replacing COM with Striking Appearance gives actual in-game effects to hideous or beautiful characters. So the Monster (who might have had low COM with no real in-game effect in 5E) could have levels of Striking Appearance that increase his presence attack. (Tasha covered this on the beauty side, but I wanted to point out the opposite as well). One note: on a straight 5E -> 6E conversion, the characteristics do come out costing higher as Tasha pointed out. However, a true conversion might include lowering some primary characteristics that were originally bought up simply to take advantage of figured / secondary characteristics (e.g. a non-martial artist, non-speedster character with 23 DEX mainly because that gives him 8 OCV, and 8 DCV). So the 6E character could be 15 DEX and still have high CVs (each at whichever level fits that character, not necessarily in lockstep with each other).
  13. And thank you for fixing that on the possible cover (which looks good, by the way). I know it's a minor thing, but things like that (especially on a product's cover) can get under my skin.
  14. Then maybe some info on what happened to San Muerte after he "died" (celebrations? mourning? did someone take over?), and if he plans to do anything there after his return (vengeance against traitors? retake it? ignore it?).
  15. Make sure you remove the apostrophe from "it's". The possessive form is "its". The way you have it means "it is".
  16. That, plus them always trying to "get moose and squirrel."
  17. Despite the thickness of the concrete walls, the booming of Russian artillery could still be heard. In fact, for several minutes it was the only sound in the bunker as Hitler stared the small glass ball resting on a wire stand in the middle of the table. Embedded deep inside the glass ball was a tiny blue shape, somewhat like a pyramid with its five separate points nearly touching the outside of the globe. [This was found outside Giza, just before the war?]* the Fuhrer asked. (*Translated from German) The army officer standing to the left side of the table nodded. [Yes, sir. A perceptive soldier saw it drop from the satchel of a brash American archeologist while running away from our troops. You recall that unfortunate business with the Ark. We believe he may have found it in one of the buried temples.] The supreme commander of Germany nodded and turned to the other, smaller man standing to the right side of the table. [Describe the workings of the globe.] The scientist swallowed nervously. [Herr Reichert believes that the inner crystalline structure acts as a very powerful and efficient battery, storing the electrical impulses that make up the human mind.] He shrugged one shoulder. [i theorize that it goes beyond that, storing the very soul and even some physical essence of a person. Else, why would Herr Bruner's face have altered to mimic that of the one already trapped inside the globe, when Bruner unwittingly activated it?] [it stores this safely? For how long?] [From our questioning of this supposed Egyptian pharaoh who took over Herr Bruner's body, the mind inside does not appear to appreciably degrade. We do not have an exact date, but he went into the globe at least four millennia ago.] The scientist tried a smile, but his terror made it look more like a rictus. [so I do not believe long-term storage should be an issue.] He dropped the smile when he saw no answering smile on Hitler's face. [And how does it work?] The scientist looked confused. [i just explained that, my fuhrer. The inner crystalline structure...] [No, you fool. How does one get... stored inside? And then get back out later?] [Ah, activation. Yes, well, you can see that the points of the structure are each close to the outer surface of the globe. If you place a thumb or finger at each point, the nerves at your fingertips apparently complete a circuit. The transfer of mind and... essence begins immediately and takes but a few seconds. Once complete, the crystalline structure will glow slightly, a light blue. The body falls into a coma, though it can be revived by re-establishing the circuit the same way and transferring the person back out.] He paused. [Really, it is a miracle that Herr Bruner accidentally activated it. It is not a natural way to hold the globe.] [And the person inside can be then put into the body of another?] [Yes, sir. That is exactly what happened to Herr Bruner. Unfortunately, Bruner's mind was... purged or overwritten by the one inside the globe.] The booming of artillery stopped momentarily, but hope that it was at an end was fleeting. More likely, the Russians were advancing and the shelling of the city would begin anew, closer and louder. [Very good work, herr doctor. You are dismissed.] The scientist nearly ran from the room in relief, his two SS escorts following behind. Hitler nodded once at one of the SS men, who smiled back grimly before exiting the room. The door had just closed when a gunshot on the other side rang out, followed closely by two more. [We cannot have loose lips, can we gentlemen?] He reached for the globe. [Now, you all have your orders. We had best get this done before the Russians or Americans get too close.] One by one, he placed his fingers at the points of the pyramid... - - - - The globe was smuggled out of Berlin and onto a U-boat bound for South America. There, a Nazi loyalist was the first of many to serve as host for the Reichmaster, as he is now known. Thus far, he has had 5 new host bodies (transferring out as one becomes badly injured or deathly ill, and into a new healthy body), thanks to his faithful agents. Some in the international intelligence community think the Reichmaster is a mere boogeyman; after all, they have proof that Hitler died in the bunker (although nobody really believes the suicide bit). Tests on that body were conclusive. So the sightings over the decades in Buenos Aires, or Jakarta, or Dallas, or elsewhere, must all be either near look-alikes, or products of plastic surgery. Right?
  18. What would I want in such a product? Beyond the characters themselves, I'd mainly want plot ideas for using Muerte and crew. Perhaps ideas for ways to turn one of them into an arch-foe for a general hero type. (e.g. A scientist/gadgeteer hero might find Muerte repeatedly stealing his work and using it for nefarious purposes. Gigante (his strength secretly boosted by the Aztec sorceress) handily beating the team brick could require rematches to prove who is more powerful. Etc.) Maybe even a mini-adventure - it doesn't have to be fully detailed with locations mapped out, but something semi-fleshed out involving more than one simple encounter would be nice to give a GM a feel for how Muerte and crew think and how to run them.
  19. Marvin Frey was a huge fan of Eddie Murphy's Beverly Hills Cop movies, and took the name Axel F as he fought crime (even though that name had nothing to do with Marvin's heat and fire powers). He died in an ill-fated attempt to fly into the microwave beam from Destroyer's satellite and attempt to use his powers to cause a feedback loop and overload the lethal satellite. (The Heat is On, naturally)
  20. Never Mind is the team mentalist of the Highway Robbers. His ability to read deep into peoples' minds, often without them ever realizing they were telepathically probed, has proved invaluable in getting the details of transport routes, security pass-phrases, lock codes, and other information necessary to successfully pull off a heist. A related talent for wiping witness memories helps confound officials' pursuit of the Robbers after heists. His only real offensive psionic ability is to trap a foe in a past memory. Because this doesn't always work, he often carries a concealed but deceptively powerful mini-blaster as a backup when on a job.
  21. To be fair, there are often several different ways to do the same thing in the HERO system. (As my former boss likes to say, "There's many ways to get to Toledo." Why someone would want to go to Toledo, I don't know, but that's neither here nor there.) I remember having an online argument with Champsguy many, many years ago about his build for a character with "invulnerable armor plates" over nearly all of his body. Rather than having a ton of armor, he bought a relatively normal amount of defenses plus a bunch of levels in DCV, the special effect of which was that the shots don't miss, but rather bounce off his armor plates. AoE damage, plus targeted attacks from a sufficiently accurate foe, would get through the gaps between plates. It took me a while to realize that his build wasn't wrong, it just wasn't how I would have written it up. That "many ways" versatility is one of the strengths, and potentially one of the weaknesses, of the HERO system. It's both a blessing and a curse.
  22. If he Blocks (or Deflects, or the extra DCV from the shield means the attack misses, or whatever game effect the shield is defined as having), the AVLD is a moot point, since the attack doesn't actually hit him. I guess if the Shield provides additional Resistant Protection on an Activation roll, it would matter. But with most typical game effects that come from a shield, it wouldn't come into play at all with the Find Weakness (unless the attacker wishes to target the shield itself, in which case it would be immune to the AVAD). And I guess I've answered my own question, with assistance. Thank you.
  23. IMO we should. Some concepts call for more (e.g. the 12 Days of Christmas, or Zodiac signs, etc.) but really, most hero teams are smaller than the villain teams.
