  1. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Yes! Finally! A light at the end of a very dark tunnel! I have found a job... and it's in my chosen profession! AND it pays better than any job I held before! And there was much rejoicing! It's about freakin' time... Mags
  2. Re: Superhero Images Ditto. I think it looks great. It's so.... blue. I need to do something similar, but I am so bad at setting up a website. And I don't mean good-bad, I mean bad-bad. Mags
  3. Re: Champions miniatures This is Psi-Kit, my first psionic PC. She was originally a halfling sized imp, but I made her into a cat person. Mags
  4. Re: Champions miniatures Specifically: I cut off the pointy elf eartips, topknot, blades and pommels; carved out the crotch, brushed on glue, rolled her in sand and primed her in white. It was at that point I realized she still looked male from several feet away (like on a gaming mat) so I added more 'breast' to her and re-applied sand. Scraped sand away from areas where I knew her costume would be; primed fig in white, painted red, drybrushed black (to represent the cooling lava) and then painted the costume in the group colors of blue and white and painted the eyes yellow to represent the heat within. Sprayed flat coat twice, touched up the eyes with pot gloss. Standard for bases (back then): Painted the base green. Glued on flock, inked for shadow and drybrushed the 'grass'. It was a fun project. I had it all planned ahead of time (except for the slight setback with her chest) in my head and I still feel it came out great. It made playing her all the more fun having this minature of Magmarock. Mags
  5. Re: Superhero Images Click on User CP And the bottom is a button for Attachments You can delete from there. Mags
  6. Re: Champions miniatures You like? Well here's my Magmarock mini, the one I've been threatening, er... I mean, promising to show for some time now: This one was heavily modified and was originally a male Warhammer elf with duel-blades. Mags
  7. Re: Champions miniatures Ok, another one. This is Delta. I posted a pic of her in the Super Images thread a while back. This is her mini: Cape is made out of paper. Mags
  8. Re: The cranky thread Well, the car is still in my daughter's driveway. It's the key and the title that were taken by the con-artist across the street. Anyway, the drama continues: The deputy went by that woman's house and, of course, she wasn't home. This morning, she, Aida went straight up to the hospital and convinced my daughter to draw up a bill of sale (even though she never paid money for the car) and got my daughter to sign it. While she is still all drugged up for the pain. I just told Aida that the BOS was invalid, since my daughter does not own the car. She cussed at me and hung up. Lovely. Then my daughter called me to say she sold the car to Aida. I told her that I knew Aida just got that piece of paper from her today or she would have shown it to me Last night when I asked to see it. And if it was all on the up and up, she wouldn't have high-tailed it out of there once I told her I was calling the police. Then, Aida went into my daughter's place last night and started helping herself to things. She was confronted by Debbie, a friend and neighber who was there trying to clean up the place and to finish packing my daughter's stuff for storage. And now Aida is up at the hospital convincing my daughter that we are all stealing from her, when all I am trying to do is keep her things safe while she's in the hospital. A sheriff put an eviction notice on my daughter's front door (she's behind in rent by two months). There is a buyer for her place, but Aida is telling my daughter not to sell it because she can get more money for the place (but she can't, it is in terrible shape). I know that if my daughter doesn't sell her place, then she'll have nothing because the space rent will force my daughter to hand over the title to the managers who will get it by default. That's how people get pushed out of their mobile homes around here and it goes on a lot. Stuff happens, they can't pay the rent and the park owners take the home, and resell. Again, lovely. I'm not there at the hospital, because I don't want my daughter to be upset, and she was last night after I asked her for the keys to Mom's car so I could move it. She lied to me and I called her on it. She's freaking out about everything. Last time I talked to her, I told her that if Aida was such a good friend, then let her take care of the 6 cats and 5 rats while she's looking for an apartment to move to. I am cranky and I have reason for it. Mags
  9. Re: The cranky thread So, in addition to having to deal with my daughter being in the hospital (see my earlier post in this thread), I have to deal with her 6 cats, which have been neglected by my daughter's "best friend" and roommate, who has been MIA since Saturday. She decided to stay at her grandmother's place and ignore all responsibility. I have to find homes for them because my daughter must move and she'll only be able to keep one cat and her beagle. And I found out that the neighbor across the street has the title and keys to my Mom's car, which my daughter had no right to give her. I went over and requested them back and was told no, that she has made a deal with my daughter. I told her that, since the car isn't my daughter's, she had no right to give it away or sell it. I requested to see the bill of sale and she slammed the door in my face. I called the police (non-emergency line) and now a deputy is looking into it. They split as soon as I left, so when the deputy went by, they were gone. He's working all night, so he'll keep checking back. A friend is putting a 'club' on the steering wheel of the car, so the neighbor can't steal the car tonight. Tomorrow, I need to take the old registration and VIN to the DMV and purchase a new title, this time in my name. What a freakin' hassle. I guess the bright side is that I am unemployed, so I have the time to handle all this crap, eh? When it rains... it pours. Mags
  10. Re: Champions miniatures I painted that Doctor D mini about 6 or 7 years ago. Psylocke is more recent, maybe 5 years ago. I've a lot of minis to share, but I'll have to post them slowly and then rotate them out again. Mags

  12. Re: Superhero Images Oooh... I especially like Firebrand. The name is cool, too. Kudos. Mags
  13. Re: The First (Hopefully) Semi-Annual Great Champions Challenge Modding Contest! So how is the vote coming along? Mags

  15. Re: Superhero Images Stymied. I would have prefered they cleared up space by deleting old threads (those not accessed for a year or more), rather than curtailing the space so severely. But such it their right. Besides, from what they said it's more about processing than storage. Mags
  16. Re: The cranky thread Deleting almost all of my art has made me cranky! And now I still can't post my new pic... Mags
  17. Re: Supervillain Images This is a repost from another thread (not deja vu): Well guys, you may have noticed a few changes regarding artwork (i.e. attachments). The reason is here: http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?p=512912#post512912 The gist of it is, we are each limited now to 1MB worth of attachments. For some of you, that might not seem such a big deal, but for the board's artists, this really sucks. To give you an idea I am currently at 15.52 MB, which means I have to delete more than 14.52 MB worth of art before I can post anything new. I guess I will need to start with the oldest stuff first. This means that after everyone has deleted their old stuff, the art threads will unravel. So I hope that everyone has had a chance to view what is there. Mags

  19. Re: Champions miniatures Check out this thread: http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?p=512912#post512912 From what is being discussed there, we are all limited to 1 MB worth of attachments. That means I'm 14.52 MB over my allotment. I'm trying to see if they will allow people to donate their MB to artists if they won't ever use it... Mags
  20. Re: Champions miniatures I just sent a message to Mightybec and he tested the attachment function, and he got the same message. He said they just tinkered with the hero Games server, so they might not be aware there is a problem. I sent a message to Ben, but as you know, he isn't online right now. By the way, my usage: You are currently using 15.52 MB to store 227 uploaded attachments. Thanks for the help, Blue! Mags Mags
  21. Re: Champions miniatures Well... I was going to post more pics of my minis, but the forum won't let me. I keep getting this message: Psylocke 1.jpg: Exceeds forum quota by 577.34 MB. Mags PS: The pic is really only 32.5 KB
  22. Re: The cranky thread On Saturday, my daughter slipped on some stairs and busted up her ankle: dislocated it, fractured three bones. She's going into surgery right now to have metal rods put in. This all comes at an extremely inconvenient time, since she's supposed to be selling her place and moving into an apartment. Grrr... Her roommate is so inept and won't help at all. Grrr... I'm not happy about any of this because it's my life that gets all screwed up over this crap. I've been running around since Saturday, getting very little sleep, all because of the extra errands I have to handle due to her being in the hospital. Grrr... I don't have the time or money for any of this... I'm still trying to find a job! Mags PS: At least I didn't let it mess up my gaming weekend
