  1. Isn't that actually what happened to him in the original stories? Uncle Marvel tricked him into saying "Shazam!" and he basically aged to death right away?
  2. I'd travel back in time to see concerts that I was too young (or not on the right continent) to go to. While back in the late seventies and early eighties, I'd also put a bunch of money in an interest earning account (or maybe buy stock in something that's gone up a lot since then). This is assuming I can travel in space, too, of course, but usually time machines can do that.
  3. I often do just notes, sometimes even listing mooks as "one-hit" or "two-hit" characters. I also often use (sometimes modified) stats from the Bestiary or other Hero books (I only have the 4th edition Bestiary -- I'm still saving up for the FHonebook.) I do some writeups, but those are mostly just when I have time or if I know the character's going to be around a lot (like the group's current NPC companion).
  4. Yeah, I didn't make it Always On -- the SRD says that they release it when they're angry or frightened. I figured out my point problem -- I did the math wrong (divided by 1.5 vs. 2.5 with the -1 1/2 total of limitations) -- my version should be 11 pts.
  5. No, Change Environment specifically states that the changes hang around. The one minute is that the stench only affects a given target for one minute, then they get used to it (that's one minute per day -- they could get dosed again the next day). I figured that was covered by the Personal Immunity, which other Trogs will all have too.
  6. Check the last line on the character sheets.
  7. That is the best thing about this board -- you mention something, someone does it! Cool.
  8. New Version: Troglodyte Stench Change Environment 2", -4 to PER (smell), -2 to CV, 0 END (+1/2), Pers. Imm (+1/4), No Range (-1/2), No Effect if CON roll at -2 (-1/2), only effective for 1 minute (-1/2) 28 active, 20 real. That's even cheaper, but it works better.
  9. Aha! Thanks...NSLs are new to me still. You're right then, probably a CE with CV penalties is the way to go.
  10. Oh, I don't always -- I'm just trying to this time. If I wasn't I probably would have skipped the CON Roll. Why not? It seems to -- it gives a -2 to all actions, just like in the other game.
  11. Troggy stinks. In the Other Game, it's a -2 penalty to all actions. As you say, CE wouldn't quite let me do that...I probably don't have to link Images (to Smell), do I? The Visible special effect should cover that. They only stink when they're angry or upset (which is why it isn't Always On). Although technically maybe it should tack on a Darkness to Smell, since you wouldn't be able to smell anything else.
  12. From a certain other game: Troglodyte Stench 2 Negative Skill Levels (Overall). AOE Radius 4" (+1 1/4), 0 END (+ 1/2), Pers. Imm (+1/4), Not vs. LS: SCB (-1/4), Targets who succeed in a CON Roll at -2 are not affected for 1 day(-1/2), wears off in 1 minute (-1/2) 60 active, 27 real. Anybody got any comments?
  13. Yeah, it's hard to convincingly Simulate Death if you're running around and dodging attacks. How about this: Simulate Death: Shape Shift to one humanoid form (Death), O END (maybe Persistent)? IDHTBIFOM, is that 15 ap (more if it's persistent)? You could pick if it's Pratchett's Death or Gaiman's Death (although if the latter you should probably by some extra COM).
  14. I wanna see the Hero stats for Jabberjaw.
  15. Of course Life Support, probably Linked to Simulate Death.
  16. Actually, only about 60% of the time. And he'll almost NEVER be able to use all 6 levels (1 time in 46656). I think it should definitely be worth more than -1/4. Otherwise, the fifth and sixth levels are really expensive for powers he'll almost never get to use. It's not really quite the same as Linked -- he has to roll well on his Luck, not just hit with a standard power.
  17. Could you post them as text, too, for those of us without HD? That was a darn cool series, and I was thinking of Hero system stats for most of the time I was reading it...
  18. Just wondering -- why does she have 41 unspent points? Is this a character that you (or someone else) have (has) been playing for that long?
  19. The fire mage in the FH game I'm running has a healing spell that does this -- it "burns away" the target's wounds, unless the mage screws up. Then it just burns the target.
  20. Stores in Canada would be especially nice. There is a game store sort of near me (only four towns away), but I don't get out that way very often...
  21. Great writeup! Shrek would be a fun character in a not-so-serious fantasy game, too -- I already have talking animals in mine.
  22. That might be part of it. I kind of hope not, because then I won't like any stuff he does except supers! That said, it is way, WAY better than the first edition cover was.
  23. It seems kind of inappropriate to me. It looks kind of neat, but it almost seems more super-heroish. Not trying to slam the actual quality of the art, which is excellent, but more the composition and selection of it. I think I like the 4th edition one better.
  24. My son has a bunch of Bionicle stuff, and we've definitely toyed with the idea. (pun intended) I'd probably use a lighter system, like Fudge, just because it'd be a lot quicker to make up the stats.
