  2. Made these with Heromachine. I don't know how to make them appear in the list, other than as an attachment
  3. I often follow the advise of our resident sage LL, but in this example your effect sounds more like Missile Deflection / Reflection Any Target with the Teleport SFX. This same effect could be gained from running at hyper-velocity using the PCs as slolum pylons. ex: As Speedster zooms around his friends, Blasterboy lines up a shot and just as he pulls the trigger Speedster dodges behind Arcanagirl and she takes the blast in his stead.
  4. These have all been great ideas. A really powerful Speedster with a high SPD (10+), CV, Martial Arts (Passing Stike, etc...), Hyper-Velocity thrown weapons, anti-tech weapons and a couple of NND attacks that the PCs have no defense for (such as the Sonic Finger Snap or The Dizzying Spin Out) will definitely put them on their heels.

  7. Hey Niel Great posts! As someone who knows what a pain in the tucas a simple campaign newsletter or Campaign City's front page can be I applaud these Campaign Notes as they are great. I also recognize that you are an accomplished and adored GM and I hope you don't mind these observations that us other herophiles from around the country make about your notes. All that said, in Street Level Dark Champions Campaigns (200/50 point games) I was initially frustrated by the HERO System's firearms and their basic lack of deadliness as compared to MA or even a strong guy with a barstool. In these campaigns my group limited Armor to Real World Values (8 Max) and made it so that any Killing Attack that penetrated (or avoided) Armor caused STUN Damage differently. Any BODY damage that got through was multiplied by the STUNx and applied directly to character without applying any Defenses and before applying Hit Location mods. This had the desired effect of making guns FAR more effective. Example: 2D6 RKA causes 6 BODY v. a character with 3 rDEF Armor. The STUNx roll is 3 (4-1). So the character in this system took 3 BODY & 9 STUN after Defenses, but before HL Mods. Hope that helps...keep up the great posting!

    Power Help

How about an AID that is tied to the phase of the moon. Here's an example: Full Moon Might: Aid 2d6 +8 Max (20 total) to All Powers and Characteristics Simultaneously (+2) 72AP, Limited Power - Only during the Full Moon (-1) Cost: 36 points. Hope that helps...
  9. Our campaigns usually start in the 350 point range with 60 AP and such, but we have a generous GM who gives an avg. of 5 XP per game session so we quickly get into the 400 point range. We have some characters who have become iconic and most of our campaigns are run in real cities (Chicago, NYC, SF). As far as notes go, not so much but we do have some great stories that serve as a living history of past Champions Campaigns.
  10. This thread has my 350 point versions of a group of Avengers including the Scarlet Witch if you are interested in having some of the work done for you and you have Hero Designer. http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=204760#post204760

    Haunted

Write it up as an NPC that is tied spiritually to the house.
  13. One of the first things I do after I have finished the general concept thought process, is look at the Campaign Guidelines for points and maximums (DC, DEF, CV, etc...). The latter seems to be missing from your current generator. With that minor addition, I would use your program a dozen times more often.

    Thanks Grailknight...my bad
  15. Anthem: Patriotic Soldier turned Politician would have to be played by George Eads (from CSI, with blond hair). BTW, Mr. Eads would also be my first choice to play Captain America in a film. Brawl: Street Tough Super Brick, described as being 7' tall, 400 lbs would have to be played by Paul Wight aka Big Show from the WWE, unless Peter Jackson directed it.

In order to seperate the twins, doctors were forced to leave Pollux with only a single kidney and as such, he was viewed by his father (a former Olympic Wrestler) as the weaker of the boys. Their mother wrote guide books and was always researching various subjects, Pollux was a voracious reader and would spend hours each day doing research in his mother's study. As the boys grew up, they remained as thick as thieves and while Pollux would help Castor keep his grades up, Castor would keep the bullies away and make sure Pollux didn't spend every waking moment in the study. The boys graduated from school and while Castor began his career in Law Enforcement, Pollux wanted to experience all the things he had read about. Pollux has since travelled the world on his vast analytical, resourceful and linguistic skills and he has come to his brother's aid on more than one occasion to help solve particularly devious crimes.
  17. There is a Psychoportative Power in D&D Psionics that allows you to replay the last 1D4+1 rounds of combat. The Power takes 1D4+1 rounds to "cast" and only your character remembers what happened the last time around. Here is that idea expressed in HERO System terms: Rewind: Extra Dimensional Movement (Single Dimension, Time Travel) Area of Effect 16"r., selective (+1 1/4) 100 active points. Extra Time: 1 Turn (-1 1/4), Limited Power: Only to go back in time to the point where the Rewind began. Cost: 44 points Unlike the D&D power, everyone could make different decisions about how they act and they would all remember what happened before the rewind. To add the temporal amnesia effect you would need gads of Transformation. Hope that helps...

    TV Superheroes

Just add them as attachments to your post. On a related note there was a suppliment (maybe Lord Liaden knows which one) that had a Japanese Hero Team called the Zen Team which were quite Power Ranger-esque.

The Beast creature from The Beauty and The Beast played wonderfully by Ron Pearlman. Also was Tealk (sp?) in SG1 in the movie or only the TV show?
  20. Somebody got a copy of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time for Christmas/Chaunakka/Kwanza didn't they???

    Omni-Suppress

Most adjustment Powers (Drain, Aid, Transfer, etc...) have a cap or Maximum amount of points you can effect with the Power. (example: I have a character with 2D6 STR Drain with a +8 Max. On PHA 3 the character hits his opponent with the Drain for 6 points. On PHA 5 he hits for 7 more (total Drained 13 so far). On PHA 8 he hits for 8 points more (total Drained of 31). The Max this character can Drain is 2D6 (or 12 points) plus 8 Max (for a total effect of 30 points). The opponent cannot lose more than 30 points of STR to this Power at a time so for the rest of this Turn, the Drain will not effect this opponent. Of course the target will Recover 5 points of STR in Post-12 Recovery as normal and then again be able to be affected by the Drain. Suppress doesn't work this way...it has no max or cap to it's effectiveness. This means that a character with a small amount of Suppress could "chip away" at an expensive ability without keeping track of how much has been suppressed thus far. If this is still unclear, let me know and I will try to clarify further...hope this helps.

    Omni-Suppress

Remember that Suppress (unlike most adjustment powers) has no cap on how much you can Suppress. As long as the target has points in the Suppressed ability, it can be affected. When I stole Zero, I gave him a Suppress Damage Shield, Offensive and Martial Arts. So every time my version of Zero hits an opponent, he suppresses the target's current, largest active point ability (as effected by previous Suppression).
  23. I certainly have fond memories of the Protectors. If I could find my old Stike Force book I would definitely do some FREd conversions.
  24. For villains I would have to go with the standard Dr. D & Takofanes answer. I do have a hero named Brawl that has been given his own "Brawl scale of toughness, 10 being Brawl." This guy isn't the strongest brick, doesn't have the highest Defenses, but he does have the ability to always get back up (Healing to any Char below starting value). He also comes from a huge Italian family in Chicago and his mother often cooks for he whole team.
  25. How about a Summon with the Expanded Class Advantage or even a Transform with an Improved Target Group Advantage. I would stay away from VPPs unless you can find absoluely no other way to create the desired effect.
