  1. Thanks Great advice all around. It definitely helps out. If anyone's interested, I will update you on how the campaign progresses.
  2. Re: I agree In the old Marvel game and Handbook Beast was listed as being able to lift little over a ton. Puting him in the 30-35 STR category for Champions
  3. Let me preface by saying that I have run Champions games for over 10 years. I am trying to put together a Campaign in which the battle of Detroit killed all but a 3 to 6 heroes and the world's reaction was to enact Worldwide Superhuman Registration managed by UNTIL. The PCs, are the only recognized Hero Team on Earth and they are responsible for global peacekeeping. I was hoping that there may be others out there who have run similar games and could give me advice as to what kinds of pitfalls I might run into and how they can best be avoided.
  4. Since Foxbat always believed that his life was a comic book made real, these Foxbat Followers (FFers) might believe that they are living a sci fi space epic. They may see themselves as the Foxbellion and the characters as the Evil Empire of Earth. Picture an army of ragtag soldiers issued ping pong ball guns or a flight of 'bellion F-Wing fighters firing streams of high yield explosive ping pong balls. The flagship of the FFers' fleet would be the Millenium Fox, helmed by none other than the dashing Captain Freddy Solo (a direct decendant of the original Foxbat of course).
  5. Here is a reprint of my 350 point Cap from another thread. As well as keeping him within the most common Campaign Guidelines.
  6. This may not be exactly on topic, but I would like to see AVAR 7 redone to be Vision-like. An android created by Mechanon as his perfect "son" who betrays him and joins his emenies.
  7. Who was the Author, if you recall?
  8. Absolutely! A Power Skill Roll on an Ice SFX Power would be a perfectly accurate solution.
  9. Without gettig too realistic about this....What would the consequences be? Would there be flooding at the point liquid water met solid ice? Are there people who make their living on that river and would be stranded in the ice or possibly even captured in it? Would there be drought in the places beyond Portland that get water from this river's tributaries? I agree CE is the way to go. Make it Megascale to cover the kind of area you are talking about.
  10. Many questions Since it seems that many of you have a much more solid grasp on the physics of this thing, let me ask you all. Could a lunar colony use solar collecting satellites in orbit and send that energy in the form of Microwaves to the surface? Can you even keep a satellite in orbit around the Moon? Would it just get sucked into Earth's gravity? I saw a probe they are sending to Europa on Discovery that can drill into the ice. Could automated Drills shot to the Moon dig the kinds of large tunnel complexes you are talking about here? No matter the soil's composition, if the Moon has no atmosphere, how could plants grow? Is there Carbon Dioxide on the Moon? Are there plants that require nutrient specific soil & water alone to grow?
  11. I have all but Alien Wars myself and I love these books. Tons of great material about the HERO universe. There is also a fair amount of scientific data that is useful in the Star HERO main book. Enjoy!
  12. I remember seeing this article it had some great stuff in it. Glad to see you spinning this baby out for SH.
  13. Kid quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Third, how do you teleport to a place you can't see, ie, I'm in detroit, and i want to teleport to london. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Monolith quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You are supposed to purchase a Mega-Scale sense Linked to your Mega-Scale teleportation. You can also buy those locations as Fixed Locations if you want to spend the points. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You can also buy the Blind Teleportation modifier. You still need to buy the Teleportation with either a HUGE non-combat mod OR megascale to cover that kind of distance.
  14. The difference being that most vehicles have resistant defenses, most of the do not however have Power Defense. The KA would be reduced in effectiveness where the Transform would not. Another way to do this would be to buy Tunneling usable as an attack, Ranged, Only v. Metal objects. Buy with 1" with like +14 DEF, should accomplish your goal. (You could never target a character with this, unlike the KA or Transform)
  15. If he's a Hero, then I am guessing he has split from Viper. So I wouldn't give him a snake-themed name at all. He is a strong, fast martial artist with Hypnotic Eyes...name him something with a Dragon theme to it. Still vaguely reptilian, but with Asian cultural overtones. That should keep most people from associating him with Viper. Maybe something like... (Color) Dragon (Metal) Dragon Dragonbane Dragonstar Dragoneye Dragonclaw Dragonfang Hope that helps...
  16. Here are some of my sidekick ideas... Defender - Originally built as a Chess opponent that he could be challenged by, this Self Helping Intelligent Educational Learning Device eventually evolved into the know-it-all robot sidekick SHIELD. Ironclad - After helping to build the 7th Street Shelter, Ironclad met a young, orphaned boxer with a serious case of Hero Worship. Ironclad took the boy under his wing, training him and giving him the nickname Scapper Sapphire - When Utility ambushed her during a concert, a mutant member of the security team threw himself in front of the projectile and helped Sapphire subdue the criminal. From then on he was put in charge of her security and took on the name Bodyman. Nighthawk has been covered above and Witchcraft has Sunshine!
  17. Re: Re: New to the system, running an Ultimate Marvel Game I believe this was 2nd Ed, but that was a great reference that sure brings back some memories. I can just see that illo of Goodman in glasses and looking quite professor-like. With the Webshooters...you can always buy another identical piece of equipment for 5 points (like a 5 point Multiple Objects Adder). The Low PRE I think is perfect because PRE should be used to inspire a reaction in others which Spidey lacks at. You can always use PRE or EGO (whichever is best) to resist PRE Attacks.
  18. What about Penny and the Brain of Inspector Gadget or even Jade from Jackie Chan Adventures (although I guess Uncle and Toru could be sidekicks as well). I would still vote Dick Grayson as best Sidekick.
  19. I second that. Neither my Champions campaign or my Fantasy Hero Campaigns would be as robust without CKC & MM&M. I know this book was once (and may still be) on the production schedule and if you are planning on producing only one book I believe it should be the Star HERO Enemies book rather than a book of Worlds. I however am not a line editor, publisher or even an HERO office minion. Just my $.02...
  20. Thanks Grad, but to be fair at least the others all actually drew their pics. I have to say I like V4 the best myself.
  21. I finally think I figured this out. I changed Liberator's costume to make it more rough around the edges with less of a golden age feel and more of a modern feel (darker, more utilitarian). I also changed her eyes, making her seem less wide-eyed and naive, not to mention the teardrop tattoo near her eye that was added as well.
  22. The truth is you want us on that wall. In dark places you don't talk about at cocktail parties...lol YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!
  23. Trying to get this right...oops
  24. How about... Special Action National Combat Team for Independent Operations of Necessity Sounds like a great Campaign to explore the dirty side of Super-Soldiering. I am curious how the players feel about flirting with the darkness that threatens to consume all who look ino oblivion. Wow that was serious...lol
  25. Menton has a 9 SPD - with his Mental Powers at least.
