  1. Re: Delaying and Interrupting - How Do You Play It? I dunno... there's just something deeply counter-intuitive to me about the idea of a guy s l o w i n g d o w n, but not only remaining harder to hit, but remaining harder to hit for a longer period of time...
  2. Re: Is Hero Resource Kit still valid? This is right: This is not: No. "Inch" and "hex" were synonymous pre-6E. An "inch" or a "hex" equalled 2m. Now, in 6E, we just go straight to the meters. Running used to cost 2 points per 1", which means it used to cost 2 points per 2m. It now costs 1 point per 1m (and therefore, 2 points per 2m). So it costs exactly the same, and works exactly the same, except we skip the imaginary "hex" or "inch" as a unit of measurement, and just list it in meters directly.

  5. Re: Speak with the dead Not to push for this method necessarily, but just to point it out... He could also buy general abilities with a Special Effect of speaking to the dead. That might make his capabilities a little easier to quantify. For instance, dead victims could tell him facts about the murder (Deduction and/or Criminology), a dead criminal could tell him where to find the mob boss he owed money to (Streetwise), long-dead people could tell him about events of their time (KS: History), and so on.

It is in fact already correct in the Champions Complete manuscript (perhaps unsurprising, since I too have always played it that way), and I was just drinking Drano upthread, apparently...   9. Re: Dodging a Mental Power You can Dodge, but since it only increases your DCV (not your DMCV), it doesn't really do anything useful against a Mental Power. HERO System Advanced Players Guide II contains expanded rules on Mental Combat, including Mental Power versions of various Combat Maneuvers and such...
  10. Re: [New Product] Champions Complete No, but the one that seems to be catching on is just "CC". Well... Yes and no. There are a couple of small tidbits in CC that I pulled in from other books -- one Martial Maneuver from HERO System Martial Arts, and a brief concept from HERO System Skills (the aforementioned breaking Skills down into categories) -- and some of the example villains are from Champions Villains Volume III. But there are also some concepts presented differently in this book. For example, superhero character archetypes are presented a bit differently than they were in Champions 6E. (See this post for more info.) But that aside, yes... you're essentially correct. Although those books don't always cover things the same way CC does, those books are the ones that, taken together, cover the same ground as CC.
