Michael Hopcroft
My game for Conquest Oregon has been approved and I've finally decided to do something fantasy for the Heroic session (Saturday, supers on Sunday). So I need 6e versions of the six core types created in HD so i can print them out and hand them to players. I basically need a representative party of fantasy adventurers to engage in a standard adventure to demonstrate Hero 6e. These should be Standard heroes (125+50) and should have interesting little twists. I need at least one character who uses magic. The game is on October 3rd if anyone is interested. What do you consider the core types to be? I presume that you'll want a cleric/priest, fighter, thief/rogue, and a mage. What do you want for the other two? I basically need a representative party of fantasy adventurers to engage in a standard adventure to demonstrate Hero 6e. Or simply a character that would be difficult or impossible to build in D&D?

Do you mean mechanically interesting or with an interesting background? Or simply a character that would be difficult or impossible to build in D&D? My goals are twofold: to show how flexible Hero is and to show how easy it is to play compared to what people think it is. So characters who have strong "hooks" for characterization would be ideal. Michael Hopcroft
Re: (6e) Fantasy Pregen Characters Wanted Complete with ADHD. I'll make her a female and name her Tomotaki. What? I like in-jokes! And it'll be amusing to see if her player gets it. Edit: I chose as my GM's discretion Complication Reckless and Overconfident (Very Common, Moderate). One question: what is the healthy weight for a 4'9" woman? And I added some things to the fighter's background to make him a more interesting and humorous character. His GM's discretion complication is Lecherousness, and I changed his Hunted to "Outraged Noble Families". I expect to be making time for a lot of jokes around the table during this fantasy demo. Michael Hopcroft
Re: (6e) Fantasy Pregen Characters Wanted Got it. Major spolier here: I went with the Order of Holy Killers, gave her a Code of Honor, and essentially gave her player the task of playing a character in a somewhat-comedic game for whom the concept of humor is alien. That, in itself, should be very, very funny. That said, Alyssa is a ruthless, cold-hearted killing machine, all in the name of her god. Her interactions with the other characters will be interesting. Michael Hopcroft
Re: (6e) Fantasy Pregen Characters Wanted By the way, I went to ther HD character collection, and found a character sheet I liked. But I thought he made a better villain than hero, and the background information was for a hero. No problem. Just some surgery to the background and adding the proper complications and the result was the fugitive "classical sorcerer" Muraki the Purple-Hued. He's probably going to die at the end of one of Alyssa's daggers, but he should be an interesting adversary. I'm still looking for a template that will help me create the Duke of Orcs, who has hired Muraki (who is on the run and in need of money and safety) to tutor his singularly unpromising son in the art of Classical Sorcery. Steve
Re: (6e) Fantasy Pregen Characters Wanted If you'd like something a little different for your orcs than simply savage fighting beasts, why not give them a warrior culture like Klingons have? I've done that in one fantasy world, even borrowing some Klingon words to flavor their speech. My players liked it.
