He is also armed with the Sword of the Spirit representing the Word of God and is capable of slaying demons in whatever foul shape they take upon this plane. The current occupant of this position is is Fausto Cantella. Cantella's family had been involved with organised crime for generations and it looked like he would follow his brothers and father into the family business. Until something that was not quite human took out his older brother and destroyed the key people in the group. Other non-supernatural competitors went after the remains leading to the deaths of his mother and father and making his remaining brother flee. However something saw hope in Fausto and helped him evade his enemies leading him to be discovered by the Apostles. After some training he returned as their undercover resource in the Underworld. Fausto cannot be unmasked by precognition, mind control or telepathy. Something protects him leading people to believe that he is either telling the truth or is blank and therefore not a threat to them. Fausto is used as a courier travelling from place to place and is thus trusted by the Underworld. The police don't bother him as he is so low key and as the people he works with do not tend to be taken apart in sudden raids they are not looking for rats. He is thus invaluable to the Apostles as he can determine who may have what and how things are being done i.e. illegal transport. Fausto is not looking for revenge for his family but he is seekijng redemption for their souls. Absolution This member of the apostles is one who is the most powerful. He calls himself David Bennett but that may not be his real name. He embraces an opponent and gets them to face what they have done. And this is then cancelled out by the power of the Lord. Of course some people will never face what they have done or become but even those who lack humanity have been brought low and destroyed by Absolution's power. Certain groups like Infernal Affairs, The Corruption and the Dreamstealers have tried to have Absolution killed to little or no effect. There are unconfirmed reports of what happened when Father Stevens and Absolution joined forces but the forces of evil give them a wide berth nonetheless. He trained himself to follow in her footsteps, learning how to use any weapon, move through any environment, pushing into as many skills as he could, he adopted her costume in red and white as the new Captain. The chicks love him. So he says. The press loves him. So he says. He replaced Rocket as the team flying brick. Sam often finds Meteor Man talking to people as if he is the team leader and not the Captain. He is due to have a comeuppance but it has not happened yet. In the meantime who is here to save the day ? Meteor Man ! Oh and his team the New Shooting Stars 2011 was when we did the team. 9 years ago. Over time he also discovered how to summon spirits and sprites for assistance and information. He is oft referred to as a ninja as he does tend to sneak up and surprise opponents and he does not speak. He can understand English, French, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese (Mandarin and others). He tends to sign to the others.and indicate to police etc that he does not/cannot speak. She joined the team on the recommendation of her cousin, Steve Charlton. She has learned some basic hand to hand from the Captain and Silent Monkey so she can defend herself. Her main function on the team is to get them to the villains before the villains know the Stars are coming. Her masked identity, Seeker, is street clothes and mask. How he spontaneously developed mental powers he does not even know himself. The name came from journalists as he tried to explain his mental abilities and started out with the phrase. He is a bit of a coward and tries to stay back from combat. Partly this is due to an unfortunate run in with Korg the Mighty who Cecil is convinced is trying to murder him in particular. He gets on well with The Captain who has managed to shake him out of his cowardice in combat and focus him on the job in hand. New Team: The Russian Avengers The Wehrmacht group has caused some Russians to band together to fight them and Neo and proper Nazis. He eventually got into a scheme to buy a submarine from the Russian military for the Cali Cartel in Mexico. While in Russia to view the submarine he came across a prototype for a suit of power armor built for underwater operations. He had it thrown in with the deal. While the submarine sale failed Leonid kept the armor and sold his services to the Cartel and anyone else who would pay as the Odessa Destroyer. He operated for a few years, but found himself on the losing side to superheroes like El Tiburon and Maravilla. He eventually retired after his last prison stint. However an old friend asked for his help to combat the Wehrmacht. He did his best, but he was badly outnumbered and defeated. Shortly thereafter he was approached to join the Avengers and he took up the name Shchuka with the hope he can show the Wehrmacht his true Russian might. His power armor grants enhanced strength and can resist a great deal of damage as well as temperature and pressure extremes that one would encounter in the deep ocean. It also features machine gun gauntlets and shoulder mounted missiles/torpedoes. The propulsion boots and backpack give him great speed in the water and limited flight ability while on land. And if he unleashes it he hardly misses with some claiming that the dread hand of Stalin rises out of Hell to guide the blast to target. His real name is Kirill Vorsch. This woman is capable of launching multiple energy blasts at either one target or multiple targets. She tends to hang back unless the others need help or is ordered into action. People on the receiving end of her attack can recognise the noise of her impending attack if they have suffered/survived it before and this can either lead them to take cover or panic.
