death tribble
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER I am trying to avoid using too many Greek figures in Troy. I don't think Medusa could exist seeing as how Perseus killed her' date=' but I could have a gorgon of some kind.[/quote'] Well she looks like Medusa but goes by the name of Euryale, who is one of the three Gorgons. The description of the other two Gorgons is vague to say the least. Have a look at the picture, it is on Storn's site as well. The last Gorgon is thought to be working for the Cobra in the adventure/sourcebook Sharper Than a Serpen's Tooth.
Super Squirrel
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER If you want to add her to Troy, go ahead. Picture uploading isn't in yet, but the password for adding a Villain is "im!good"

Vondy
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER This is an experiment. What we have is an attempt by me to create the longest running, NON game thread. Our record to beat, is the Catsuit thread. Quite a challange. And we are going to have to keep this thing as best we can. Threads and Tangents are welcome. Getting it locked is not desired. Now all we need is a launching point. What does everyone feel about the Red Sox "Curse"? And are you aware that this year Stephen King is going to every game and will be writing a book about the season. I think this is a great idea. Personally, I don't believe in the "Red Sox Curse." Vondy
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Given how badly his stuff has stunk lately (according to some friends of mine who read his stories) just his doing that ought to break the curse! (Fight fire with fire' date=' or a curse with a worse curse. )[/quote'] The only way to watch a sox game is with nose plugs in.
Vondy
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER What are you talking about' date=' his books have been golden lately?[/quote'] They make books out of gold? That must be really expensive.
Vondy
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Not sure' date=' really...as I said, this is according to some friends of mine who read his work. While I've read a couple of his, they didn't seem all that great to me...sort of a "Uhm, okay...what's all the fuss about? Why is he considered so great?"[/quote'] Who is "he?" I'm confused. Vondy
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER So how can you tell his stuff as of late from the older stuff then? Never been much of a King fan, probably because when I first was introduced to his stuff I was told it was horror. It does not, IMNSHO, qualify... Late and older? I don't comprende. And why on earth wouldn't you like Billy Jean King?
Vondy
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER King's pretty good. I think he's more deserving of his rep than Crichton is. Which isn't saying much... I've never enjoyed either of these authors.

Vondy
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER By the way, just a notion: There are about 35 posters with postcounts above 1,500 (meaning they are frequent posters) who are still active and are often found in NGD. That's only about 38 posts each to beat the 'Catsuit' thread. C'mon, folks, we ought to be able to do that standing on our heads! Shall we show a bit of 'community spirit', all pitch in, and do our part? Is that a post in your pocket or are you happy to see me?

Vondy
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER I was also never very impressed by King. The talisman or whatever the title was, imo stank. His Bachman books short stories were quite a bit better. Steven King... PHEH!
Vondy
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Baseball is more interesting to watch in person. It makes for really lousy TV' date=' though. Vondy
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Crichton writes a mix of junk and good stuff. Congo was pretty good. Rising Sun also. Both had weak points, but... I HATED Sphere, but I know people who loved it. Go figure. Congo and Rising Sun were the only two Chrichton books I was able to finish.
