WWYCD: Works As Advertised!

All over your character's city, strange things are happening. Frustrated young men who were formerly scrawny things are reaching Charles Atlas proportions almost overnight. Working X ray glasses are being used for various crimes or voyeurism. Hypno disks that swirl seem to be granting true mind control capabilities, and sea monkies have been seen raiding ships on the docks.

That's right, it seems all those cheesy old ads in comics of yester year have come true.

Well, Penumbra would take whatever precautions were takeable to protect him and his, and see if his government contacts had any intel on what was happening. Barring that, he'd laugh his @$$ off. C'mon, it's funny! Just for the guys running around with the X-Ray Spex alone.

Eve: Being to "young" to remember those ads, would just chalk the incidents up to typical supercrimes. Once the older members of the team started putting things together, she'd look into some of the ads and any high tech villians to see if there's possible connection. Her initial suspect would be CLOWN.

Tao: Super crimes like any other and would be dealt with appropriate. The X ray specs voryurism might a problem for her as she'd have see how it fits into laws on supersenses and invasion of privacy. Her intial theory as to the source would involve CLOWN.

Ivy would be secretly amused but seriously to investigate the crimes and items, specially the enhanced young men and thre "sea monkeys" too if there some potential drawbacks and harm coming to them (and are the X ray specs emitting and harmful radiation or anything). Basically deal with any crimes after making sure there's no harmful side effects from the devices to their users. She'd also be incredibly tempted to see if Hostess Fruit pies were now irresistable to super villians.

I actually did flip through some old "Captain Carrot and the Zoo Crew," so I do know about those Hostess Fruit Pies. If they worked, I'd be pelting people with them instead. :D

Queen of Spades figures something's sneaky is going on. This means that she needs to procure some of these "fake items" and submitting them to some quick tests to see how they worked. Obviously, a paper trail must be leading back to a source, and armed with that info, she'd find a way to gauge the size of the operation involved, and how poerful they are.

Then go downtown on them, with some "friends" along for the party...

Unless the cause of the change was mystic in nature, Cerulean wouldn't realize at first that anything was different, until Dr. Quantum explained it to him.

Soulbarb would be curious as to the cause of why things that used to be bunk are now working, and investigate, starting with any potential mystic angle and going from there. If she happened across someone committing a crime with the aid of one of these formerly bunk enhancements, she'd stop the crime, but her main focus is finding out what's going on, determining whether it's unsafe and/or promoting some criminal agenda, and if so, putting a stop to the root of the problem.

Jessica - having lived through most of the 20th Century would spend a good portion of her day laughing her @$$ off, next step would be to get a pair of x-ray specs because she always thought that'd be cool. Last step might be to stop the non-sense. Maybe.

Silence - wouldn't get it. If someone told her something was wrong she'd help fix it, but would be utterly clueless to what was going on.

Yeah "St Barbara" might go for a pair of those X-Ray specs to perve on all the cute guys ! Just don't let her catch anyone using any of those things to hurt people with. If the Sea Monkeys come up on dry land she'll serve 'em up with chips (er fries to you Yanks) ! If they stay in the water about all she can use on them is harsh language ! She would politely request that the Charles Atlas types not use their new found strength for crime and use force only if it became necessary. Actually finding the cause of all this lunacy might be a bit beyond her however. She might be able to ask her friend and former team mate "Widget" to invent an appropriate detector from whatever materials were available and try to track the culprit down that way !

Glarg: He might notice there are more guys with measurable muscles. Everything else wouldn't make an impression.

Panweesio: Be interested in the X-ray glasses; something as thin as specs that grants sight in the far end of the spectrum? Panweesio would have to investigate! Be concerned about the hypno disks and the sea monkeys, sneer at the fools going in for big muscles; talk to Contacts and see if anyone knows anything.

Thena: Get a pair of the X-ray glasses. :eg: Work to stop the crimes.

Lana van Hoom: Shrug. Not her line; she's not a detective. If the next other (or the one after, or the one after...) has a useful power for tracing where the stuff's coming from, change over and let the other work on it.
