It isn't any more self referential than changing rope for fire, or magnetism or any other SFX that you want to consider. The problem with rope powers is that they seem too mundane for a complex construct like a VPP. IMO obviously. Doc It was intended as a joke.. That's the same construct I proposed for a Spoon. It works for just about every item really... anything where you don't want to think about all the possible applications just toss it into a VPP and go....
