Re: WIYCT: What is your character's theme?

Jake the Troll - Bugler's Fanfare (the Olympic theme song); it's got a confidence and friendly brashness to it that fits with the character's "Hey, I'm over here, how ya doin'?" attitude.

Icon - the Superman theme song, because she's a low-rent version of the Man of Steel. Also it's her goal to be like him, so it fits.

Shinji Miromoto - Puer Natus Est Nobls, by the Benidictine Monks of Santo Domingo - that's the first song on Chant. However, this is mainly because I don't have anything particualarly zen in any of my CD's, and this is what came closest.

Re: WIYCT: What is your character's theme?

Emphasis=Mine.

In that case, wouldn't "Don't Stop Me Now" be more apropriate.:P

EDIT: This thread got me thinking.

Nah, that would only be appropriate if Terminus was having too much fun to stop. He does not view what he does as fun.

For my other character, Silverghost - You Can't Touch This.

Re: WIYCT: What is your character's theme?

Mr. Terrific, a Champions character, doesn't have a theme song. I suppose I could use the theme of the old Mr. Terrific TV show....

Our group has soundtracks for several of our campaigns. The best-developed of these is a Buffy campaign, in which I have a werewolf character. His theme songs are (of course) Werewolves of London and Tales of Mythical Beasts (by Synergy). The group also has a secondary "Love theme" disk (for the Valentine's Day "episode"), on which his themes are Moon over Bourbon Street and Norah Jones's rendition of Hank Williams's Cold Cold Heart. (Needless to say, he has real problems with relationships.)

Re: WIYCT: What is your character's theme?

This isn't new for me. I'm up to 2 CD's now of character theme music. As more characters are created, it just requires more music. I even have a few themes for villains. One of my favs:

Dr. Destroyer - "Mars, bringer of war" (from The Planets)

Got over 70 other themes already used by the players.

Re: WIYCT: What is your character's theme?

Um...why?
BECAUSE IT'S NOT "INVINCIBLE!"

Err. That is to say, it's original title was "The Ballad of Billie Jean", the theme from "The Legend of Billie Jean", a 1986 flop/classic starring Helen Slater (Supergirl), Christian Slater (Several Broadway Roles and Numerous Television and Movie Roles, even voice-work as Composite Santa in Robot Chicken), Keith Gordon (Now a Director with Directing Credits in Homicide: Life on the Streets, Gideon's Crossing, "Dexter" and House), Peter Coyote (Sphere, Erin Brockovich, 4400) and Yeardly Smith (voice of Lisa Simpson). However, her idiot manager at the time didn't think the name would sell, so it was billed as "Invicible: The Ballad of Billie Jean".

Sorry. I just love that song.:drink:

Re: WIYCT: What is your character's theme?

I actually know where it came from. I have "Legend of Billie Jean" on DVD :D

Im a big Helen Slater fan.

But no one knows what youre talking about when you describe it by its proper title. They ask lots of questions and you end up having to explain about the movie, and all.

However, even though I called it by its slang name, not its proper name, -everyone- knew what I was talking about!

Re: WIYCT: What is your character's theme?

Millennium is my only PC wit a theme song, and I even went so far as to get a small tape player and play it at the start of his first combat.

Where have all the good men gone

And where are all the gods?

Where's the street-wise Hercules

To fight the rising odds?

Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed?

Late at night I toss and turn and dream

of what I need

I need a hero

I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night

He's gotta be strong

And he's gotta be fast

And he's gotta be fresh from the fight

I need a hero

I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light

He's gotta be sure

And it's gotta be soon

And he's gotta be larger than life

Somewhere after midnight

In my wildest fantasy

Somewhere just beyond my reach

There's someone reaching back for me

Racing on the thunder end rising with the heat

It's gonna take a superman to sweep me off my feet

I need a hero

I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night

He's gotta be strong

And he's gotta be fast

And he's gotta be fresh from the fight

I need a hero

I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light

He's gotta be sure

And it's gotta be soon

And he's gotta be larger than life

Up where the mountains meet the heavens above

Out where the lightning splits the sea

I would swear that there's someone somewhere

Watching me

Through the wind end the chill and the rain

And the storm and the flood

I can feel his approach

Like the fire in my blood

I need a hero

Aren't there more of you out there who have musical themes for their heroes or villains?

Tell us.

Really!

If you do, I'll list all the songs from my 2 Disc Heroes Theme CD's (soon to be 3 CD's). :bounce:

Re: WIYCT: What is your character's theme?

Here's a few more.

Thunderhead - Son of Thunder and Lightning, with the powers of both. “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC. (Not a commentary on his mother's parenting methods. :P)

Adam 218 - Last of a series of Bio-engineered Weapons. “I stand alone” by Godsmack.

Eagle’s Cry – Gadget using Martial Artist with a Kelvarite enhanced artificial voicebox. “Right Now” by Van Halen (love that guitar solo!).

Shiver – Empower by an accident involving cut-price cryogenics, he possesses ice powers and is radioactive, requiring him to wear a special suit of armour, lest he poison those around him. “Pain” by Four Star Mary.

Surge – Mutant Energy (Electricity) Projector. “Shock the Monkey” by Coal Chamber feat. Ozzy Osbourne (a cover of a Peter Gabriel track, I prefer this one).

Twilight – Former Ninja and now Martial Artist Extra-ordinaire. “Ultra” by KMFDM.

Re: WIYCT: What is your character's theme?

Oddly enough, since I posted before in this thread, Terminus has undergone a few changes; his theme would now be Winterborn, by the Cruxshadows.

Has anyone else's characters changed/progressed to the point of needing a different theme?

Re: WIYCT: What is your character's theme?

For Hardball it would be the riff that is played as a pitcher winds up in baseball (he actually brings it to mind on occasion when throwing something at a mooks head).

For Fore-eyes it is the music that he hears every night in his dreams, the music of the first dance he will have with his new wife (note the future tense, he hasn't met her yet).

Karma's theme-song won't be written for another hundred years but it kind of sounds like a cross between eye of the tiger and another one bites the dust. If you ask her nicely she'll play it for you.

Re: WIYCT: What is your character's theme?

Envy, of course, has a theme fitting the fact that he is an homage to Ness from EarthBound. It's the track "Bein' Friends" of the Mother OST. Also considered is "Back In Black".

Jo Corvin/Junkyard Dog: ... I actually don't have a good theme for her. A few I've tried are "Baby Ice Dog" and "Wings Wetted Down" by Blue Oyster Cult, "New Millenium" by Dream Theatre, a few compositions I've played around with working titles of "Steel Under Velvet" and "Velvet Under Steel", and perhaps most telling because of the suggestion upthread, "Mars, Bringer of War". Occasionally, as is required, have played around with Snoop Dogg, but it doesn't fit the character.

Ladon gets Blue Oyster Cult's "Godzilla" and likes it.

I haven't played with U.S. Steel enough to give him a good theme.
