[Warning Anime] How would you create this character?

Garra from Naruto is a very unique character. When born, he had a demon trapped in his body (a sand demon) who protects Garra without Garra needing to expend effort for his common defenses. As a result, he always carries a large amount of sand on his back in the form of a Gord. Also, he never sleeps or else the demon inside him takes control.

Garra has the following abilities:

• A protective barrier of sand that has a will of its own to protect Garra above all costs. the best way around this is to go so fast that the sand can't react in time
  
• A layer of hardened sand on his body as armor. This armor takes the blows but cracks easily. Garra needs to spend energy to fix his damaged armor
  
• Sand based ninjutsus, like teleportation with Sand, can hide under sand easily, a remote eye made of sand, sand shurikens, and can use his defensive sand (armor and the barrier) to form a deadly sand spear
  
• He can use surrounding sand (or his protecive sand) to ensnare someone and crush them to death
  
• Later, he can even summon a tsunami of sand, or a ultimate defense sand doll thingy that is nearly unbreakable as a shield

my question is, how would you do this in a champions game? One idea is to use the sand as a follower, but I am curious what your take on it is.

Armor (RSR vs. Dex)

• A layer of hardened sand on his body as armor. This armor takes the blows but cracks easily. Garra needs to spend energy to fix his damaged armor

Armor (Ablative)

• Sand based ninjutsus' date=' like teleportation with Sand, can hide under sand easily, a remote eye made of sand, sand shurikens, and can use his defensive sand (armor and the barrier) to form a deadly sand spear[/list']

MP - Sand Ninjitsu (Requires Sand): TP , 360 degree Vision, 1d6+1 RKA, +X DCV, 2d6 HKA

• He can use surrounding sand (or his protecive sand) to ensnare someone and crush them to death

Entangle plus E-Blast (No Range, Cont.)

• Later' date=' he can even summon a tsunami of sand, or a ultimate defense sand doll thingy that is nearly unbreakable as a shield[/list']

E-Blast (Area) plus Flash (Sight), +X DCV

I'd probably build the first one, the protective barrier of sand, as Force Wall. Going around a FW quickly is, well, going around a wall.

 

Rather than follower, I think some sort of side effect or disadvantage. Losing control of your powers isn't that much different than losing control of yourself via Berzerk.

It's a pity they have nothing on Bleach or Naruto on that anime collection you posted question otherwise, very impressive.

RSR = "requires skill roll" .

 

In this case, a Dex roll.

 

So, in other words, the sand thingy would need to make a DEX roll for the armour to work.

Unless someone sends them to me, it's not going to happen. Right now I'm working on Black Lagoon Hero and don't read or watch Naruto and don't intend to.

Having seen and read this, it's a block. It's a really fancy block, but it's just a block with the special effect that that the sand is doing this. Some people above have said Armour with a Dex roll, but that fails to take into account that someone with sufficient speed (OCV) can overcome it, which a DEX roll won't represent but a bonus to the Block maneuver will. (Unless there's some way for the opponent to reduce his DEX roll by taking a penalty on the attack roll.)

Ablative Armour sounds good to me, it could also be a plain ole Force Field with the whole cracking thing being a special effect. Also, Gaara needs to blow to alot of END to even stand with that armour on according to the manga, it makes him really heavy. I'd probably write it up as a Force Field with extra END cost myself, and/or Side Effect (penalty to DCV/DEX)

Tunnelling

Sight Sense at Range

Telekinesis (OIF: Sand)

Energy Blast, Physical, Area Effect

Lots of armour, force field or force wall- take your pick of defenses. If it only defends him-force field, if it can defend others- force wall.

I like those ideas. Any way to make it so using the sand to block wouldn't require Gaara to abort?
