The Doctor
Re: Aaron Alliston's Strike Force Campaign Sourcebook Hello chaps, Any word on whether we're finally getting a Strikeforce Webzine or paperback mag? I've read all the stuff on Aarons sight a couple years ago. I was just wondering if there was anything new. the doctor

The Hawk God
Re: Aaron Alliston's Strike Force Campaign Sourcebook Has anyone done the other hero group/splinter group in the book or the villians. I would so dearly love to get my mitts on those. I would myself but i think one of my former players "borrowed" my copy. :grrrr:
Heckus
Re: Aaron Alliston's Strike Force Campaign Sourcebook My copy is well worn and tattered but I still crack it open at least once a year to reread. I bought it new and I've borrow a lot from Strikeforce over the last two decades.

Christopher R Taylor
I'm slowly converting Strike Force characters to 6th edition, one a day.
CaptnStrawberry
Man, this is the holy grail of supplements and I hope to have a copy someday. It's my understanding that Mr. Allston's estate retains the rights so Hero can't revise/rerelease?
Christopher R Taylor
I'm sure they could work something out, but the problem is the effort involved in the rewrites and updates for a 6th edition. Even just a re-release of the original product requires work from someone.
zslane
Copies of the original pop up on eBay fairly regularly. Of course, you'll probably be paying collector's prices for it...
Christopher R Taylor
Find this book if you can. Its so full of great campaign tips and ideas its almost indispensable for GMs. And its got a lot of nostalgic value as well.

Christopher R Taylor
If I did a rewrite for this, I'd include all characters as sort of an enemies supplement in the back, instead of so many summaries. I understand why Aaron did it to reduce size but these days with so much done as downloads, its not as much of an issue.

It's my understanding that Mr. Allston's estate retains the rights so Hero can't revise/rerelease? Someone correct me if I'm wrong (don't have time to look through the books right now), but didn't Aaron include a lot of the campaign advice information in the Champions book? (At least the 5E edition.) I know that doesn't cover the actual Strike Force material, but it's something.
CaptnStrawberry
Well I finally bit the bullet and got one off Ebay - a gamer liquidating his collection. Semi-reasonable price ($69) and it looks to be in good condition. My Xmas present to myself! Thing is, on another forum, a guy said he found a new, shrinkwrapped copy in a clearance section somewhere - for $3!! A tribute/updated edition - the Strike Force Universe or something - would be wonderful. Count me as a backer if it ever reaches KS.

Christopher R Taylor
If someone knows how to contact the Allston family and estate I'd love to see this happen. We're all huge fans of his work and it would be a terrific tribute to his legacy to see the book re-released.
Lord Liaden
My ambition is greater than a re-release. According to comments from Mr. Allston and his various HERO-related colleagues, Aaron continued his Strike Force campaign for years, and continued writing for it on and off, updating the chronology and characters and expanding the setting, hoping to some day find the means and opportunity to publish it. He reportedly had quite a copious amount of material already done before his unfortunate passing. I'd love for a competent editor to get the rights to publish that stuff -- I've wanted to read it for many years.
