I became aware of Dorothy Fontana through TOS Star Trek, but like many others I wasn't aware of her gender until years later. I always associate her with thoughtful, well-crafted stories, by which she should have been judged from the start. Hunter, a woman in 1950s America who must use her initials to hide her sex from the average reader who might never accept a "Woman Writing Science Fiction" it was a homage to the now late, always great D.C.
