That was the Smallville version. Same actress played Medusa in that abomination of an Inhumans show.

Depending on how well WH sells (I know some people love westerns and RPGs but I don't think the customer base is gigantic), I have like 5 other adventure ideas or campaign concepts, like a Cavalry Base, an Oregon Trail run, a Native American campaign (what if the PCs were around as chiefs and medicine men and helped unite the tribes as powerful leaders?), a Railroad building campaign, etc.  There's so much that could be done and never has really been touched on.  Running back a few decades, a Mountain Man campaign could be amazing too.

Maybe we could get a copy and mail it to MrAgdesh, shipping isn't horrible for a media product directly to someone.

Meanwhile, I'm finishing up the final bits of a module to go with Western Hero, a Town Taming adventure where the PCs ride into a town to kick out the bad guys and calm things down!

The Taming of Tascora should be out next week, depending on how things go here at home.

I'll swap you a paper copy for a set of lawn darts.

Serious offer.  My lawn darts are starting to crumble with age (had them since the 70s).

It should be noted that the new Western Hero is a "complete" book, in that it includes all of the rules you'll need to play a Heroic level Western Hero game.  (To my complete approval, it does not include Powers, referring you to Champions Complete if you want to include them.)

You just ruined my day.  Magical sorcerer type heroes are one of my secret pleasures.  With the MCU when they announced Doctor Strange I was over the moon and was searching for news and spoilers for months and could hardly wait to see.  But with DC I am all "Noooooooooo! they are going to ruin her!".

    I really like Zatana, bummer.

I have to give Matt Forbeck full credit here, his original Western Hero campaign section made it into this one to a noteable degree. I had to do a lot of editing and rewriting to fit better info about Deadwood, and change some details in the adventure, but he came up with the two major adventure ideas and some of the additional writeups for campaign suggestions (its why he gets credit in the book info at the beginning).

I found a more period-accurate Deadwood map, and significantly more accurate details about the characters and events than he had access to in the early 90s, but I leaned pretty heavy on his work for that section.

That's exactly the comparison that DC has to overcome. Marvel Studios has developed a reputation for consistent entertainment. They've had very few outright clunkers, and at this point the audience assumes that a new Marvel movie will at minimum be fun, and may even be exceptional. But the DC theater audience has been burned more often than satisfied, and they've grown wary of spending their movie budget on new releases.

Ordered my copy (PDF & POD) earlier today.
Only had a chance to skim but I really like that you included a campaign area and enough adventures (small and a few long) that can be run individually or easily connected into a campaign.
That plus the book containing all the rules needed for chargen and play, makes this the type of book Hero needs IMO.

Now all we need is a 5thR version.......

Watched Snyder's JL last night but waited till this morning to post about it.

It's got all the highs and lows that I've come to expect from Snyder. It's very pretty and the combats and CGI are much better but the art direction is .... overly stylish and bordering on pretentious. It feels like the movie spends too much time displaying the heroes in epic poses and not flowing naturally. The actors move and talk like people who know the audience is watching at all times.

I liked the expanded roles of Flash and Cyborg for the most part. Cyborg is used well and Flash is given more character depth.

Bruce Wayne unfortunately has less screen time and Batman is less human for it.  Also Batman gets injured less than Flash? He should be and is a better more effective fighter at this stage in their careers but one of Flash's niches is being unhittable and he takes the most hits in the movie.

The storyline is better explained( It better have been, you had 4 freaking hours to work with) and it does much more with Steppenwolf's character and motivations. The added Darkseid and Apokolips cameos are good.

The epilogue is nice at the beginning but falls prey to Snyder's grimdark leanings. If it was his idea for a sequel, I hope it never gets made. I'd see it eventually but the only money they'd get from me would be their share of my cable service.

So, overall this is a better movie than the theatrical version. It has less humor but more character and universe building and a more consistent tone. Not as good as Wonder Woman or Aquaman but way better than BvS.

DC is really hit and miss in its movies.  They do really great (Batman Begins) or really awful (Catwoman) with huge tentpole movies that give the franchise more life for a while and a bunch of bad stuff in between.

I really like Snyder as a director, when he's doing the right sort of stuff for his style and mood.  He's just a terrible choice for doing DC's more mainstream characters.  The problem is that they live in constant terror of people associating them with the 60s Batman TV show again so they go way, crazy, stupid far overboard the other direction

According to Roger Moore's autobiography, he witnessed Christopher Reeve walking through the canteen at Pinewood Studios in full Superman costume, oblivious to the swooning female admirers he left in his wake. When he did the same thing dressed as Clark Kent, no one paid any attention.

For his portrayal of Clark Kent, Christopher Reeve based the performance on Cary Grant's character in Bringing Up Baby (1938).

Brandon Routh and Christopher Reeve were 26 years old when their first Superman films were released.

Yeah that is the one thing that really stands out and is incredibly effective in the first Superman film he did.  You really could believe that even close people wouldn't recognize him.  His voice, his posture, his mannerisms, everything changed.  And I know from personal experience meeting people out of context like people from work out in a bar, or something, you can honestly not recognize someone you know.  Especially if they are wearing a distinctive costume in one of those settings.

I cannot emphasis my agreement with zslane on this enough.

I have bought many Plot Points that I have used for other systems.  While I do not remember who suggested this first, it was most likely zslane, but I am not 100% sure.  The mini-campaign setting rules with a 10 to 20 scenario campaign in a single book is exactly what is needed for Hero.  In Slipstream they had 48 pages to cover character creation, setting gear and setting rules.  26 pages to describe the world, 42 pages to cover the 10 Episodes of Season One (the campaign), 12 pages to cover plots seeds for Season Two, 26 pages for encounters stat blocks and bestiary and finally character sheets forms and index.

That is it 158 pages total.  No more.

For a Champions game you would need to limit background setting info to 26 pages.  That is it.  Champions Universe plus city information in 26 pages.

I honestly don't think Hero authors are capable of doing it in less than 1000 pages.  After all how would we know what color of toilet paper Defender uses .

TAG definitely knows how to write adventures and settings.

I don't know yet, I have yet to really use my adaption in a real game so I can't tell if it will be a bust.
I do like my "investigative skill" hack with the attached "Epiphany Points".

I do know that I would not be able to use both at the same time.  With the skill hack and EP's I have not had the inclination to dust off Bennies.

Fair enough and mostly likely not wrong.   But then for SW's their magic and superpowers just don't feel right to me either.

Absolutely.  And I did have fun and enjoyed SW a lot.  It really depended on the genre.

And the most important thing, it depends on your players.

I would second this.  NE is a full Plot Point book.  It has the setting details, rules for supers, a 11 Episode adventure/campaign and additional info for the GM.  Good book.
