  1. Re: I Can't Believe He Played That! Ninja Beaver An actual beaver, complete with buck teeth and flat tail and a katana with a couple levels of shrinking and -3" running to take his small size into account. Now, given that if you hit him, you ARE going to do knockback, he spent the entire game getting back to his feet and running back toward the battle, a half move of 2" since he didn't have Acrobatics or BreakFall and getting knocked back again. OH..and whenever he went through a doorway, a Super Big Gurp appeared blocking his way until he paused to take a drink from it. And this was a four-color game. Chiquita Looks like Carman Miranda, for those of you that are too damn young to know who she was, let's just say she wore a huge hat full of fruit on her head. Each fruit had a differenty power...including the watermelon she wore under the dress that made her look pregnant. Again, the game was four-color. McNinja An living chicken McNugget with a cocktail sword as a weapon. Four-color. Ninja Chicken A chicken with so much growth it had it's own gravity well and laid huge eggs that destroyed whole cities. Four-color. Bud Man Looks like...Bud Man from the old Budweiser ads. Attacks include Beer Belch and Beer Fart. Four-color. I am sure there were more but I can't remember their names, or specific powers.
  2. Re: A contriversial "Would your character...?" Archer'd do just about anything to protect that many people and as sex to him is totally natural and as his morality is very different from 'human' norms, sex in a Macy's window wouldn't bother him at all. Raven, aka Mrs. Archer, might have a serious problem with it . . . and she has the ear of a VERY powerful ally, who knows what would happen.
  3. Re: Is Ambidexterity a little expensive for what it does? Since it is probably built as three 3 point PSLs against the -3 modifier for using the off hand, its just about right.
  4. Re: All the superhero PCs I've ever played Ghost Archer: 1982; Started as a desolidifying archer with trick arrows. Has become in addition, a master detective, martial artist, time traveler, world saver and pawn of the Dragon Tsar Icehawk: 1995; ice-based rich kid. Started out as a rich kid cat burglar with a nasty sense of humor and turned into a proud father and husband and a major provider of financial aid to vast numbers of people in the SeaTac area. Psion: 1999; full time mentalist, part time brick. Destined by family history to be a lawyer until Fate dropped a fallen angel on his head and altered his way of thinking. No longer a slave to his family he lives a mostly quiet life trying to free the angel from her Earthy prison (and I don't mean by killing her). Probe: 2002; mentalist. Hunter of family turned invertigator. Now teaching someone how to really experience all that life has to offer. Nat 'Goliath' Ryan: 2003; boy scout brick. Just a surfer. Lusted after by one and cruelly wronged by her. In love with and loved by another and living with her in exile. Eric Boone: 2004; cosmic powered bad boy. Primary power seems to be his ability to seduce anyone, to con people out of anything and to pull down whole city blocks with a word. All Champions and all the PCs I have ever played in 22 years. Now NPCs . . . I have tons of those.
  5. Re: Looking for Classic Superhero Characters in Hero *bows to LL* Thanks for the mention and the compliment. To get directly to the my X-Men stuff go to http://x-men.the-wild-hunt.org Also you might try Matt Ignash's site. He's got several hundred Marvel, DC, BtVS and Indy write ups. Most of them are written up at 250 points or less. http://www.angelfire.com/scifi2/mathew/champions.html
  6. Re: Tracking Devices That's a Microsoft answer . . . technically correct but totally useless.
  7. Re: WW2 weapons in Champions M3 Grant/Lee M4 Sherman Pzkpfw V Willy's Jeep A6M2 'Zero' DC 3 P-39 Airacobra B-17 Flying Fortress B-24 Liberator P-38 Lightning Bf-109 P-51 Mustang Spitfire 'Iowa' class BB Type VII U-Boat That help?
  8. What I want to design is a tracking device. Something that is attached a target that allows someone with a receiver to follow the tracker over long distances, probably will have to have Megascale. Any ideas?
  9. Re: Bestiary, Book vs HD Since you would also need to purchase HD2, best stick with the book. $25 as opposed to $47. Might also want to see if there is a 'damaged' Bestiary available...half price is a great price.
  10. Re: Bestiary, Book vs HD HD includes the creatures, not that this is a small number. It is broken into Fantasy Creatures, Real World Creatures and Horror/Sci Fi/Movie creature. It does NOT include Dwarves, elves, orcs, giants and more 'civilized' humanoid races. It also includes Prefabs for all of the Creature Templates, everything from Prefabs for size to venom to demonic powers to diseases. Bestiary include all the creatures but also tips on Creature Creation, Creature templates, Creatures in Combat and Other Considerations. If money is your worry, I'd just go with the HD file. Personally, I have both.
  11. Re: Galactic Champions...Today! My own character, Ghost Archer, is 1299 points with massive skills. He started 23 years ago at 350 and I have been running him with various GMs every since. The thing is, I never bothered to increase his DEF and in all those years his Offensive powers may have gone up from an 80 MP to 112 MP but the increase in Real Points has been only to make the powers Invisible to Hearing. I think the main difficulty with a high point character, from a GM's POV, isn't the incredible DC they can produce but the incredible range of things they can do. I actively run several characters over 700 points and without exception, I don't have much trouble with them against lesser mortal villains in the 350 to 500 point range. I haven't seen a need to advance things to a Galactic Champions level.
  12. Re: open rpg and hero Give WebRPG a try, I've been playing there for years. Just my plug for an alternative. I have a lot of tiles for mapping plus my own character sheets. I am quite willing to share.
  13. Re: Using Attack Roll as Burnout Roll How about basing it on the actual attack roll? Assuming your 'breakage' point is 8- then anytime you roll an 8- on your 'to hit', it breaks. . .
  14. Re: I am ALWAYS watching you What I have come up with so far using the Clairsentience option: 80 Demonic Eye: Clairsentience (Sight Group And Normal Hearing), Mobile Perception Point (can move up to 640" per Phase), Single Dimension, Inherent (+1/4), Reduced Endurance (0 END; +1/2), Persistent (+1/2), No Range Modifier (+1/2), MegaScale (1" = 100 km; +3/4), Can Be Scaled Down 1" = 1km (+1/4); Only To Watch Death Maiden (-2), Always On (-1/2) Active Cost is 281. But then points aren't the issue here. I am not sure I consider Always On as disad. I can't see how it would be if what he wants to be able to watch her at all times. I can't imagine anything she'd do he wouldn't want to see . . . well, maybe going to church might upset him.but then she's demon blood to so it's not likely to happen. How about taking Dee as the Focus of the power? That legal, or cheese?
  15. Re: I am ALWAYS watching you First, even though DC is a bike, that is merely appearance, sorry that I did not clearify this. DC is a demon in bike form so he is built as a character. Now, as to what the power is used for. . . spying on her. Does he relay this info to some higher demon lord, like Dee's father? Most likely. Does he use the power to warn Dee of impending danger? No, not normally, though it might cause him to come to her to defend her, depending on the level of threat. The relationship between the two is complex. Dee does not know for sure that DC can and is watching her, she probably suspects it. There is no telepathic communication between the two. DC generally gets his points across to Dee by attitude and the tone of his engine's roar. They do NOT ever directly communicate. I have built DC before, using vehicular rules but I was never satisfied with the result, hence my current project. Clairsentience seems right but the structure is what has me baffled. Generally DC hangs out in Hell and watches Dee from there. He can use his ExtraDimensional Movement to come to her call or just take a ride into her world at will so he needs to be able to watch her from either place. It's Always On to him, like a PIP on a TV. I figure Megascale, since he can see her no matter where she is on Earth but does Scale Down to One Kilometer allow him the up close and personal view of her and what's happening around her. He does not see through her eyes, she does not see any SKX from his use of this power. It would have to have a Mobile Perception Point that could travel as fast as Dee. We need a Fixed Location option for Clairsentience like Teleportation. Hmm . . . maybe I should steal that . . . Just realized he'll need a way of knowing where she is under any circumstance. The Clairsentience might fail if she uses the team's long range teleport. Something new to build. Probably a huge Detect Dee. Thanks for all the help so far.
  16. This is my first question concerning the construction of a power. I have a PC, Death Maiden aka Dee, who is half-demon, half-human. She rides a demonic motorcycle. My problem concerns this bike. This thing watches Dee, no matter where she is and can do it from Hell as well as the normal Earth. Clairsentience doesn't seem right, even with Transdimensional and Megascale. This power should be Always On, Zero END, Persistant and always centered on Dee no matter where she is. It should include both the ability to see what goes on in her area as well as hear what is going on. I could make this just an SFX of the bike but I am a stickler for constructing EVERY power. Any suggestions?
  17. Re: Goofy hero names that you still love Ninja Beaver . . . please don't ask . . . McNinja: McDonald's corporate hero. And Tailgunner who always runs backwards.
  18. Re: X-Men Conversions? I have a few, 65 or so, at http://x-men.the-wild-hunt.org You will also find a couple of links at the bootom to two other Marvel to Champions conversions sites.
  19. Re: List of superhero gadgets Gadgets and Gear, of course.
  20. Re: Spell Law? Used to do that when FH, the first one, came out. I never cared for the Spell Colleges and RM is the only other games system I'll even consider playing. It was, of course, a virtual impossiblity to convert the vast number of spells, let alone spell lists, into Hero. I found in many cases a Spell List merely contained a few basic spells that became more powerful as the level increased, making those lists rather easy. Some, however, would make you crazy. BTW, I own all SEVEN RM Companions as well as all the supplemental books. This adds up to about two THOUSAND Spell Lists if I remember correctly. even now I think I have a couple of mages on my website with KS: various spell lists. I need to go back and change those.
  21. Re: Game Maps and Counters Exchange While about half of the tiles I have offered are from WebRPG, they are offered freely by the original artists through WebRPG. Those that I designed I offer freely as well in the hope that others will use them and offer their resultant maps there.

    Zodiac

Re: Zodiac I have been using Zodiac for many, many years. Long before Doug's module was published my Zodiac had built up a rep as my toughest villain group. When the Zodiac Conspiracy was published, I took part of my group and part of Doug's and the result became a truly fearsome organization . . . however . . . I have been replacing the members of my Zodiac that are holdovers from Doug's module for my website. Currently all that remains of that part of the team is four of Doug's pieces of art, Aries, Aquarius, Capricorn and Taurus. I will never replace either Taurus or Capricorn as both are integal parts of my campaign's history but the rest are my work. Aries is the scout. Aquarius is a mutate with stolen weather powers. Cancer has yet to be replaced. Capricorn is somewhat the same as Doug's orginal but with a very highly developed personality and history. Gemini has yet to be replaced. Leo is a flaming, flying energy projector. Libra is an egoist. Pisces is a mage. Sagittarius is an assassin. Scorpio is a speedster. Taurus is a cyborg minotaur, Doug's, with changes. Virgo is a martial artist. I made an effort to incorporate the psychological traits of the classical Zodiac. Leo is overconfident, vicious, hedonist. Libra is a diplomatic flirt, Aries always has to go first. Sagittarius is an impulsive casual killer. Scorpio is sensual, emotional and falls in love easily. And so on. While I don't have all twelve at the moment, and can't display Taurus or Capricorn, I hope this might help. http://the-wild-hunt.org/villains/zodiac/index.html
  23. Re: Game Maps and Counters Exchange Finally found the tile sets. I didn't go into them very deeply to sort them but one group is 48x48 pixels, the other 60x60. Many have transparent sections and can be laid over others, like a the pentagram, crosswalk lines etc. The walls, for the most part, are from WebRPG. Some have been modified. The furnature and street stuff, like newstands, dumpsters, desks, etc. are my work. If you use them, give us all a look. http://the-wild-hunt.org/Large60x60.zip http://the-wild-hunt.org/Small48x48.zip Enjoy
  24. Re: Game Maps and Counters Exchange Let me see if I can find them or get them from Raven.
