Cruz's opinion of the intelligence of his voters must be very low. I guess we'll find out if he's right.

The GOP is not entirely devoid of spine. But too little, too late.

    Agreed.

This man practically convicts himself, I can't believe he's evaded prison for so long:

He has too many enablers in power.

  2. On another note, I have been running short sessions every so often, using a calendar to track the date. So far, the adventurers traveled south to a forest and encountered a group of primitive humanoids who turned out to be hostile. The party was victorious, but the dwarf fighter was killed. While healing up in town, they met up with a couple more adventurers who decided to join them.

Today's encounter involved a group of goblin bandits who attempted to ambush the PCs. The elf noticed the goblins. In the ensuing fight, one of the clerics was injured, but he dealt the killing blow on a goblin. The elf put 4 others to sleep, and the remaining goblin fled. The PCs made it to the next town without further excitement. The story continues.

A couple of other details. Alcatraz will be called The Citadel, and will still be used as a prison. One of the taverns near the docks is called the Blue Nereid (Blue Mermaid irl). A comely barmaid named Brandy works there. She's a fine girl.

  3. I thought about using opposed skill rolls for easy resolution, but it would just give the end result, not the details like how many shots were traded during a rally or whether the serve was good. It also doesn't take into account fouls, unless you rule that a fumbled roll constitutes a foul.

Then again, a lot of combat systems are abstract for a reason.
