  1. Re: Musings on Random Musings Thanks. I tried that one though, and it showed the entire page. And it was the wrong page, to boot. I'll try again. Edit: I figured it out. For some reason it wouldn't work when I tried it the first time. Thanks again.
  2. Re: My mostly hard sci-fi campaign Here are some pictures for the space military: See here And here
  3. Re: A Thread for Random Musings Does anyone remember how to show single posts on this board?
  4. Re: Genres HERO GAMES may want to avoid (intended to be humorous) Subtitile HERO
  5. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Here are some more sci-fi military personnel. Ignore the names; they come from my FASA Star Trek game, and I plan to rework the characters for my hard sci-fi game (much like the way Ronald D. Moore revamped the Battlestar Galactica series).
  6. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine It seems that I can't load the thing properly anymore, but I still have a bunch of pics I haven't shared yet. I made some people in uniform for a science fiction game. I'll post the ones I haven't modified, so you can customize them as you see fit. More to come later.
  7. Re: "Neat" Pictures I'll take a closer look. Wooden Bicycles!
  8. Re: Settlement & Exploration ropogation One thing you may wish to consider is the effects of living in microgravity for a long time. Over time, people's muscles atrophy. They lose bone mass. Their blood flow isn't regulated the way it is on Earth. With that in mind, you may wish to have some sort of artificial gravity on the ships by having parts of them spin (or continuously accelerate, but that brings up other problems). Also consider the effects of living on a world where gravity is not that of Earth's.
  9. Re: Lame Superhero Rollcall Almost all the superheroes in The Tick, especially Die Fledermaus and the Civic-minded Five.
  10. Re: "Neat" Pictures Can't decide which D&D setting to use? Or do the PCs constantly travel from one setting to another? Put them in the same world!
  11. Re: A Thread for Random Musings I think I've gotten hooked on NASA TV. It's fun watching the astronauts work on the ISS, and fun to watch them goof off when they get some down time. and when they cut to Mission Control, I always think, "Meanwhile, back at the ranch..."
  12. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Has the Hero-o-matic been running slowly for anyone else? I've been having trouble getting it to load, despite cleaning out my temp files constantly.
  13. Re: The cranky thread Thanks.
  14. Re: The cranky thread My dad is in the hospital with a bleeding ulcer. He needs a transfusion I found out coming home from dinner. He's halfway around the world, so I can't get to him soon, but at least my cousin's wife has volunteered to donate blood.
  15. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Here's a review of the San Francisco Opera's upcoming production of Das Rheingold. Looks like it has been modernized quite a bit. This passage particularly stands out (emphasis mine): NB: Donner=Thor, Froh=Freyr(?) With that in mind:
  16. Re: Music to Kill Zombies By 1. Weapon: Lightsaber 2. Music: Score from Conan the Barbarian (do musical scores count?) 3. Sidekick: Eowyn. I hear she has experience fighting undead.
  17. Re: Campaign Descriptions I remember seeing that in the 4th Edition Fantasy HERO. I don't remember if it appeared in 5th Edition.
  18. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine RoboCop, v2.0
  19. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine I tried to make Iron Fist, but some features just aren't available yet. So I made a martial brick with a similar costume instead. I don't have a name for him yet, but he can be either a hero or a villain.
  20. Re: A Thread for Random Musings I found a couple of nice port variants in the wine shop lately. One is a white port, that tastes great chilled and mixed with club soda; it's great on its own too. Another is a chocolate port, that's great as a dessert all on its own. But I found it made a good pair with spaghetti and even with a spoonful of peanut butter.
  21. Re: I'd rather be me than my character because... I'd rather be me than any of my characters because: I'm much better looking than they are!
