  1. Re: Online Steampulp Game Cool. I'll try to come up with a character.
  2. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine I seem to be having trouble uploading new images. I tried several times to no avail. Edit: It's working fine now. My computer was just acting funky lanst night.
  3. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Frankenhooker Meets Vampirella Then again, maybe we DO want to see that one!
  4. Re: The cranky thread I'm very sorry to hear that, ghost-angel.
  5. Re: Online Steampulp Game How many points (base, disads) in the game? What about skill levels?
  6. Re: A Thread for Random Musings I saw this article posted in the Dragonsfoot forums. It was too good not to share.
  7. Re: A Thread for Random Musings The Phantom Page strikes again!
  8. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Here's a technique I use with Photoshop. If you're trying to draw a character in a suit, you'll notice the tie is drawn over the suit, which is sloppy. I make two copies; one with the suit, the other with the tie. I open them on Photoshop and superimpose the suit copy over the tie copy. Then I use the eraser or magic eraser function to remove parts of the overlapping layer (do this carefully). Then flatten the image, and you're done.
  9. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine The only rule in the street is survival.
  10. Re: How to build your own Iron Man suit — for real "Allez cuisine!"
  11. Re: Pulp/Steampunk SF Ideas That's a great idea. Thanks!
  12. Re: Online Steampulp Game Sounds like fun. Is there any specific day and time to do this, or do we just post messages when we can? And how do I make "tkdguy" sound more pulp/steampunk? Perhaps "Taekwondo Man" would work, although that sounds cheesy. I'd need an unusual background, though. Edit: I could just call myself Mr. TKD. Then again, Taekwondo hadn't been "invented" at that time. I can use Taekkyon, its predecessor, so to speak.
  13. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Watch out, villains. Here comes IRON BAT!
  14. Re: Interstellar flight by 2070? I don't see interstellar flight taking place anytime soon. Interplanetary flight within the solar system, perhaps. Another thing I noticed is that this author tends to make several controversial claims in different fields. That doesn't necessarily make him a crank, but it's enough to raise a red flag. Still, it's good material for a Star HERO campaign.
  15. Re: How to build your own Iron Man suit — for real Gee, that looks like a lot of work. It would be a lot easier just to do it like this: 1. Get a suit of armor. Full plate is ideal. 2. Paint it red and gold. Decorate to your personal tastes. 3. Attach a jet pack to the back. Putting jets in the boots sounds painful. 4. Attach lasers to the forearms or wrists; attaching them to the palms sounds dangerous. 5. Build a secret base so nobody knows your secret. 6. Hire an attractive to cover up for you. 7. Get out there and fight evil!
  16. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine I redid my COBRA picture, adding Storm Shadow, as well as Tomax and Xamot.
  17. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine If we can include heroic campaigns, here's the Colonel Commandant and the Regimental Corporal Major from the Imperial Lancers. More info on the regiment here. For an added twist, put the soldiers in this setting.
  18. Re: Pulp/Steampunk SF Ideas Pardon this bit of thread necromancy, but I thought I may include this unit somewhere in the campaign.
  19. Re: Interstellar flight by 2070? Here's a link about the author.
  20. Re: Genres HERO GAMES may want to avoid (intended to be humorous) Rat Pfink a Boo Boo HERO
  21. Re: Character: Dr. Frasier Crane Wow, I thought this thread had reached its end years ago. I wonder what Frasier thinks of thread necromancy? Those are good suggestions; thanks guys. I didn't watch the show regularly, so I missed a lot of episodes. So corrections are always welcome.
  22. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine My version of COBRA, with a little tweaking with Photoshop (still haven't gotten around to Storm Shadow):
  23. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine This is me as a PC in either a Highlander game or my martial arts/film noir campaign. Of course, I don't actually look (or act) that heroic. The background is the Ferry Building in San Francisco, which I got from Wikipedia, since it has been released to the public, as long as the source is credited.
  24. Re: Savate: Sport and Martial Art It's very interesting. I've been curious about the system for a while, and I even found (with great difficulty) a copy of Bruce Tegner's book on Savate. Aside from that, all I've seen from it was what was shown on Human Weapon and Fight Quest. I had thought about making a western martial artist. He would use Savate and Fencing as his arts. Perhaps he'd also know some Greco-Roman Wrestling. Thanks for the info. Repped when I recharge.
