  1. Re: VIPER martial art? VIPER: Coils Of The Serpent page 65 Hebijutsu. "Way Of The Snake."
  2. Re: 6e Characteristics Which explains why every single character in the game world has an Ego Attack. No wait.. they don't. Careful how you level ultimatums like that. Overpowered in one campaign is underpowered in another.
  3. Re: 6e Characteristics Sniping through solid objects requires the purchase of another sense that isn't Targeting normally as Targeting. We allow it all the time. As do we make liberal use of the fact that Ego Attack can't be seen by normal senses. In one of our campaigns it was a regularly used tool in our arsenal.
  4. Re: Qwyjibo is up *shrug* I'm not losing any sleep over it. As long as the quality of the writing stays up, I'm cool with it. Having read every book published, I could probably go and start poking continuity holes in the CU before Cryptic came along. There's a lot of material in there to play with. Besides... Flaming Monkey.
  5. Re: 6e Characteristics Some build of something always proves or disproves something isn't priced correctly for that specific build of something, and someone else comes along and proves it is priced correctly for another build of something else. In the end, a lot of it is pretty subjective, but mostly it seems to be working. Cha'know.
  6. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Act Like You Know album - Frankie Bones. good ole House.
  7. Re: Qwyjibo is up Or they wanted more tie-ins to Dr. Moreau on Monster Island than are in the CU. And besides, Flaming Monkeys are cool.
  8. Re: Would you allow the white knight defense? I have a lot less issue with someone who wants to create an "invulnerable" type that a lot of GMs I run into. I don't see why it's game breaking to have a Character that is effectively (if not absolutely) physically invulnerable. I feel to many GMs fall back on Hurting and/or Knocking Out Characters as the way to defeat them. Damage is not the only tool in the box. And this being a point based system, they are trading off using so many points in one area for having points in another. Typically offense, but it could just as easily be Movement, Non-Conventional Aspects or even Non-Combat capability. No matter how you slice it, they're reduced or missing abilities in another aspect. I'd allow it.
  9. Re: 6e Characteristics There is no end result difference. They both increase something. You're right. But the fact that there is a fundamental underlying construct difference, really does place them in different buckets. You could construct pretty much everything off of 5 Points for 1D6 (i.e. Energy Blast). But we don't. We create separate and different rules for different things - sometimes costing based less on Theoretical Build and more on Fair Pricing. I doubt we'll see eye to eye on this one.
  10. Re: 6e Characteristics Oh, cool. Never owned 4E DC, learn something new every day. Either way, rest of the debate stands
  11. Re: Qwyjibo is up We're starting to see the divergence of the MMO and Champions Universe story lines into similar but separate worlds. Qwyjibo is mentioned as one of the captured monsters created by the Qularr during their first invasion (Monster Island p8). In the CU he has nothing to do with Dr. Moreau. But it makes for nice MMO crossover story.
  12. Re: 6e Characteristics Lightning Reflexes is a 5E construct. And it's also built as Limited Dex; which tells me Lightning Reflexes isn't a Power in it's own right. It's specialized Dexterity. Enhanced Perception is a Power. Lightning Reflexes is a Talent, based on DEX. Essentially, completely different animals.
  13. Re: In the Shadow of the Dragon So do I for the most part, but every artist has their own interpretation. Poison was working off a very brief description of the character to begin with. I kinda of like this version of Sam a little bit.
  14. Re: 6e Characteristics Perception is a separate Power, Initiative never was. STR provides Lift DEX provides Initiative CON provides Stun Threshold BOD provides Death Threshold INT provides Perception EGO provides Mental Effects Threshold PRE provides Pre Attack those are some basic effects of what each provides, some provide Skill Rolls, some provide some other effects as well (STR has Damage). Saying Initiative should be "decoupled" because CVs were is nonsense.
  15. Re: 6e Characteristics The Initiative Characteristic would be called... Dexterity. That's what it does. At least CVs were derived. Initiative was never a derived value.
  16. Re: Absorption. I thought about it overnight, and came to a similar final conclusion. I think, actually, that buying the two Separately and applying a -1/2 Limitation to each is more appropriate for similar reasons that Hugh pointed out. It's not 'fair' to double the price and halve the effect. I might even go so far as to say that both Absorptions could even take Linked to each other were I feeling generoues. But it's definitely not an Advantage.
  17. Re: Poison's Champions Art Thread which happens to be my screen resolution.. how handy. how awesome. how so on my desktop.
  18. Re: In the Shadow of the Dragon Poison colored in the pencils he showed off yesterday http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1856682#post1856682
  19. Re: Absorption. Actually... I am unaware of a Book Legal RAW way to have two Absorbs feed into one pool.
  20. Re: Absorption. The problem I have with that is that to share an Pool of Points to Absorb to... you'd then Limit both Powers. I might be inclined to say that "Share Pool Of Points For Maximum" is worth -1/4 as a Limitation. As far as I know - there is no book legal way to build two Separate Aborptions that share a Total Maximum. Buying two Absorbs; One Energy and One Physical, say both at 5D6m gives you a grand total of 60 Points you can Absorb, not a grand total of 30 like the OP asked. Is it a Limit to absorb both types to one attack, or an Advantage? I guess would be the underlying question.

  22. Re: Musings on Random Musings Fresh Water weighs ~8.3 pounds/gallon at sea level. ...what oil, and what water, at what altitude?
  23. Re: Poison Star Hero Drawing That came out just . . .awesome really. I love the expression on her face in the full figure.
  24. Re: 6e Characteristics Combination of INT, Enhanced Perception Power and Physical Disadvantages covers the gamut of pretty much everything being talked about. The problem here is the idea of looking for a single aspect to capture all these concepts. It's 1) not going to happen cleanly and 2) No even properly modeling the interaction of this so called 'reality' anyways. Why try.
