I suspect giving up EC for Unified would hurt characters who had any common limitations on their ECs, relative to other frameworks and bricks... points did still matter in 5th...

On a similar note, I'll be simplifying my previous 5th/6th Edition Hero System game materials to try generate interest in new players at the Extra Life game event scheduled for November 5, 2022, starting with 3rd Edition Champions and Fantasy Hero as my base and drawing from the 5th Edition source books as needed (e.g. Book of Dragons). Below is an example of what I mean by simplifying previous character write-ups I posted with Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) and Warduke (e.g. minimal to no Perks & Talents and extraneous acronyms like OIF, OAF, listing only main skills vs. a massive skill list that covers every minute detail, etc.) and going with a more visually pleasing layout even if that will take up more ink from my printer. 😉

I assume about average for someone in their 50s. My wife, on the other hand, is at higher risk of complications.

I can only dream of something like the folks behind Chivalry and Sorcery were able to achieve. Stunning products, true to the game, with an ever-expanding roster of new content. If HERO could do something like that it would be a good start. And I don't see any reason C&S would have an advantage over HERO in terms of the ability to do things like that.

I especially love it when they justify their theocratic government with "constitutional originalism".  Although I suppose that if they won't read the Bible, we could hardly expect them to read the Constitution.

It's really strange. Growing up, I learned that the entire reason the colonists came to the Americas, specifically what would be the United States, was to get away from theocratic governments. Have I missed something?

While the rulings were bad enough, yes, the underpinnings of them are simply horrifying.  The Constitution says nothing about TV or radio or the Internet, so is the FCC even slightly legit?  Prescriptions didn't exist;  the smallpox vaccine was (checking)...developed in 1796.  And it was the first one, IIRC.

Because 4 of the current justices have said they favor the independent legislature theory.  Insane interpretation, IMO, as it asserts the state Supreme Court can't reverse the actions of the legislature.
 
And such a case is on the Court docket for the next term.  If the Court validates the theory, well...that might be the beginning of the end.  That puts us on a path that will likely lead to secession and/or civil war.

Well, calling it "the American Stonehenge" immediately ties it to non-Christian beliefs, and if you're gonna buy that, calling it Satanic follows directly.
 
That part of the far right would be happiest to have a state religion, and the power to dictate ANY public display...monument, billboard, etc...or any media, be doctrinally compliant...and preferably go further, to assist in promoting Christianity and the Bible.

Besides, isn't there always a rotating villain? It was Joe Lieberman for a long time. Now it's Joe Manchin. Dems offer endless excuses and then say "Vote for us."
 
50 years of voting "blue no matter who" has gotten us to this point, where we're on the verge of theocratic fascism.
 
Yet Biden does nothing at all. Despite all the pre-election talk of his years in the senate giving him a unique ability to get his agenda passed, he claims helplessness in the face of a party member's intransigence.  Heck, he nominated Manchin's wife for a cushy job.
 
Every opportunity to tie his agenda to must-pass legislation, he's split it off and left it for dead.
 
But even outside of the legislature, Biden could take steps to make things better and improve Dem's chances in the fall. In addition to the steps on abortion mentioned in the quote above, he could forgive at least some student loan debt, as promised during the campaign. But he's refused to do that.
 
People waited in line for hours to give Dems the power they now enjoy. But all the Dems have given in return is an endless stream of excuses.
 
That will surely result in a Republican landslide this fall, and then it's just one more election before we lose everything.

For 6e, the Advanced Player's Guide (pp 188-190) has the chase rules that appeared in the 4e and 5e core rulebooks.
 
For vehicle chases, my favorite HERO chase rules are in Danger International (pp 84-85). This optional chase system offers a risk/reward system where in the driver can choose to take greater risks in return for a greater chance of achieving their objective.

I'm trying, Sketchpad! I've been posting a variety of my game support materials for Champions and more recently Fantasy Hero for fans to download for quite some time now. My initial post was expressing personal frustration and the difficulty to recruit new players since the current product reads like a textbook (5th/6th Ed.) and the previous product I want to use that could probably help my efforts (3rd) can't be a print on demand project to a hardcover edition via Lulu.
 
In the meantime, I'm drawing from 3rd Edition while simplifying 5th/6th Edition to hopefully gather new player interest in my part of Omaha, NE. 🙂
