  1. Re: Character: Socially Conscious Man! Stereotypical Evil Genius: You've won this this round, Socially Conscious Man, but this is all far from over! [obsconds in Big Boy shaped escape enablement vehicle and spends 30 years cryogenically frozen in orbit before returning to plague humanity once again]
  2. Re: How do I to build a Lightcycle Edit: nevermind, dust Raven beat me to it. That's what I get for not reading the whole thread first.
  3. Re: Signs your Champions GM is now (fill in the blank) Permission Granted.
  4. Re: Signs your Champions GM is now (fill in the blank) Signs your Champions GM is now Dr. Zoidberg from Futurama 1) Every pizza ordered on game night is covered with anchoves...until they finally become extinct from overfishing. 2) The Hit Locations Chart on the inside of his GM Screen is upsidedown. 3) He is constantly mistaking a particular male PC for a woman or a robot (or "rowbot" as he pronounces it). 4) Your gaming table now has claw marks at the place he sits. 5) He wears sandles. 6) He gives his NPC write-ups that personal touch by writing them in his own ink. 7) He coughs up pearls on occasion.
  5. Re: Signs your Champions GM is now (fill in the blank) Signs your champions GM is now Micheal Crichton: 10) Everyone got their superpowers by stepping inside some silver alien sphere at the bottom of the ocean... 9) ....And now there's some strange entity called "Jerry" going around wreaking havoc with giant squids and sea serpents. 8) Monster Island has been replaced by Jurassic Park. 7) You get more indepth descriptions of medical procedures than you really needed...or wanted. 6) He uses the same first and last names for NPCs in this campaign as in a previous campaign, even if they're not the same character. 5) Only three PCs will survive the campaign, and choose to forget the whole thing. 4) The movie based on the campaign will be a disappointment. 3) Eventually, the entire party will end up on ER...er, I mean in the ER. 2) Jeff Goldbloom will be involved somehow. 1) Two underwater habitats will be destroyed and the Navy will demand answers.
  6. Re: Running jokes in your campaign My namesake character, Wormhole, can be expected to make some kind of cameo appearance in just about any campaign I GM or co-GM, doubly so if the campaign involved a transdimensional junket of any kind. Bradley being the trickster he is, it's hard to say whether he's there to assist you in some subtle way or play some elaborate prank on you. Once, a PC walked into his hotel room just in time to see Wormhole clean out his mini-bar and disappear. Another time, he appeared during a combat sequence, passing through the battle field like the Energizer Bunny through one of those old commerials, and disappeared again without interacting with or getting hit by any of the combatants.
  7. The set up: Your character is relaxing and having a drink at Rick's, a popular watering hole in Campaign City. This fine establishment is run by a fellow who was once a powered-armor using supervillain in the 1970s (he has since served his time and has been content with running the bar; showing no interrest in becoming an active supervillain, or hero, again). A non-functional replica of his old suit is in a glass display case next to the back storeroom door and a test-your-strength machine (there has been one instance in the past when some drunken moron stole the replica, thinking it was the real thing, and tried to go on a crime-spree). The whereabouts of the real suit is something Rick is very tight lipped about, all he's ever said on the subject is: "It's somewhere safe, just incase I ever have a damn good reason to bring it out of mothballs." The senerio: A handful of Rick's old buddies show up, trying to talk him into one more hiest, "for old-time's sake." Rick tells them flat out, "Look fellows, I ain't in the racket no more, And I ain't interrested in getting back in. Now I'll let you have your drinks on the house, seeing how we're old pals and everything, but after that I think it's best that you show yourselves out." And that's when one of them jumps over the bar, and throws the first punch. WWYCD?
  8. I'm building a base for one of my characters and bought the Interrogation Skill (on a roll of 11-) as a Lab I've decided to define as the "Interview Road." The question is, besides the kind of equipment that would have to be defined as powers (and thus paid for seperately), what all could I say is in there?
  9. Shameless rip-off of a Micheal Crichton novel to follow... Primarily for characters who have connections to the Navy, NASA, etc. Also assumes your character has for some reason been called in for assistance. May not work for everybody, YMMV. The crew of a ship laying cable for a new international communications network is startled when their cable is caught on and sheared by an underwater obstruction of somekind. Fearing that said obstruction may be a lost nuclear submarine leftover from the Cold War, the Navy soon arrives to investigate. What they find is a gigantic triangular fin extending from a mass of coral deep down on the ocean floor. Buried in the coral, and attched to the the fin, is a cylindrical metal object half a mile long and the approximate shape of an airplane fuselage. The thickness of the coral around "the annomally" as it is being called seems to indicate that it's been down there for centuries. A dive team has tunneled into the coral and found a door into the fuselage. Exploration of the interior turns up evidence that the ship is an American spacecraft from the future, and a recording in the ship's computer shows the ship going through a black hole! A continued search of the ship leads to a cargo bay, where one of the ship's giant robot arms is still clutching a polished metal orb approximately 30 feet in diameter in its claw. WWYCD?
  10. Re: WWYCD?: The blatant-ening. Wormhole: This guy pretending to be Jesus gets kicked in the family jewels and Slatyn Yar gets aported into a giant bottle of tequila.
  11. Re: WWYCD: The Destruction Of The Conqueror Wormhole: If the new guy is a significant threat, hunker down in the ol' pocket dimension until it's all clear (Wormhole's not suicidal enough to mess with someone who can ice Tyrannon). Otherwise, assuming the Tree Throne was in its pine tree form when it was killed, get out the lights and ornaments. (What? 'tis the season )
  12. Re: Susano's Song-Based DC NPCs Don't forget the part where he "Came home with a brand new plan" and "bought some seed from Colombia and Mexico, and planted it at the holler (sp?) down copperhead road" (i.e. he started growing weed) "Now the DEA's got a chopper in the air" (The DEA is after him for cultivating an illegal drug) "Makes me wake up screaming like I'm back over there" (Post-traumatic stress disorder) Also: "I learned a thing or two from Charlie, don't you know?" (i.e. dealing with the VCs taught him alot about booby traps and other "unconventional warfare tactics")
  13. Re: Susano's Song-Based DC NPCs How about the guy from "Copperhead Road"?
  14. Re: [Worst Ever...] Reasons to be a superhero For the money, fame, and chicks.
  15. Out of the archives of WWYCD: You're involved in the superbattle of the century with Dr. Destroyer when you see him pointing a menacing looking ray device at a crowd of innocent bystanders. You struggle with the Doctor over the weapon, which discharges and hits you point blank. After a blinding flash of light, you find yourself lying atop a mound of something soft. You turn over and find you're on a gigantic pile of socks, millions upon millions and none of them appear to match. Around you are piles of socks as far as the eye can see and no sign of anyone else. WWYCD?
  16. Your character and one of his/her teammates are abducted by a cosmically powerful entity and find themselves in a cell. In there with them are two villains they encounter on at least a semi-regular basis, who were abducted in a similar manner as your character and his/her friend. The entity speaks, explaining that the cell's door shall soon open into a labrynith full of deadly traps! The labrynith is set up so that the only possible way out alive (and thus to freedom) is for the four characters to work together as a team. At first, the more hotheaded of the two villains gets mouthy and tries to pick a fight, but his calmer, more rational companion grabs him, pulls him aside, and chides him for his idiocy, ending with a statement along the lines of "Now, if you're still itching to have it out with the do-gooders after we're safely out of here, that's your business. But until then, you're going to shut the hell up and do as you're told." WWYCD?
  17. Re: WWYCD: Quantum Leap Most of my characters would think twice about going for something like this, even Wormhole himself. The only possible exeption... Air Raider: Would at least be tempted to go back, find the 9-11 highjacks, capture them and shoot them all dead before they could even reach the airport. The Twin Towers was one of Jason's favorite landmarks.
  18. Re: WWYCD: Daughter Of The Shadow Lord... Practically all of my characters would just grab the other kid and butt out, even Wormhole would be hopelessly out of his depth against a villain as powerful as the Shadowlord. Besides, what Khan is probably about to do to those cultist will be punishment enough for them.
  19. Re: WWYYCD: The Rally Wormhole: Bradley hates d-bags like the Khan and the Neo-Nazis with a passion so he would probably be one of the supers that assaults them later. Otherwise, he'll take great pleasure in using the Gatemaster's powers to screw with those goose-stepping morons during the rally. Air Raider: Also hates racists, but wouldn't intervene unless things got violent....then he'd waste 'em.
  20. No one in your campaign world is entirely sure how or why it's happening, but a large percentage of the automobiles and other machines worldwide are spontaniously developing human-like intellegence and personalities, and quite a few also seem to be gaining the ability to change into humaniod robots like in the Transformers cartoon/comicbook series. The personalities of these newly sentient machines vary widely, depending largely on the type of machine. For example, a recent encounter that sticks out in your character's mind was with Beemer, a BMW with a thick German accent and a penchant for high society snobbery on par with Major Winchester on M*A*S*H. With all the the deversity of personalities, there is one thing a disturbingly high number of them have in common: a deep and bitter resentment towards humans for how they were treated back when they were "dumb" machines, and a quite a few of them are out to teach humanity a lesson. WWYCD?
  21. Just an idea that popped in my head the other day... Normally, a Force Wall is breeched if it takes it's DEF+1 in BODY. This alone is fine for some SFXs, but I figure it would also be a good idea to have a house rule that allows one to purchase BODY for one's Force Wall. Under this rule, all FWs have 1 BODY for free and can buy extra BODY at the rate of 1 BODY per 2 CP (similar to purchacing more BODY for a character, though obviously this is only for the wall, and doesn't add to the character's STUN). Has anyone here done anyone here done anything similar? If so, how did it work out in your campaign(s)? Thanks.
  22. Re: Everyman Skills What MitchellS said, though you don't usually need to note Everyman Skills on your sheet, their more or less a given.
  23. If I built the following: Summon up to x54 up to 500-point card avatars, Expanded Class (card avatars; +1/4), Friendly (+1/4), Specific Beings (+1), 54 Recoverable Charges (+1); OAF (deck of enchanted playing cards; -1), Requires 1 Charge Per Summoned Being (-?) What would be a reasonable value for the limitation in italics? Thanks In Advance
  24. A company in the campaign world that manufactures safes, locks, and other security related products has recently started advertising a new line of "super safes" that are supposedly indestructable and otherwise impossible to crack. So confident in their product calm, the company set one up in the middle of a shopping mall in the campaign city and issued a challenge: if anyone could successfully crack the safe, they could keep its contents (they haven't revealed what's inside to the public, but it's supposed to be something valuable). Over the course of a month thus far, a seeming endless parade of locksmiths, professional safecracks, and wannabes have all take a shot at it with no success. Except for one incident where some idiot attempted to blow it open with a block of C-4 (fortunately he was arrested before he got a chance to detonate the explosive), things have been uneventful. What's in the safe? Would your character try his/her hand at cracking it? WWYCD?
  25. The concept: A villain with an unusual kind of immortality, in a way he's more of a virus than a man. Whenever he successfully mates with a woman, the resulting offspring is not a blend of his DNA and hers, but rather a genetically identical "son" who eventually grows up to be his next incarnation (those who know about him consider him the ultimate human expression of the venerable "selfish gene theory"). Obstensively he's been doing this since long before recorded history and there has been one of him in every generation of every age of man. Normally he uses this ability when he knows his current incarnation will likely be destroyed sometime soon, though there have been occasions when "Father" lived long enough to take some part in raising "Junior" (think something slightly similar to Jango and Bobba Fett). The build*: I decided to use Duplication with the Altered Duplicate Advantage ("Junior" has the same key abilities and personality traits as "Father" with a possibility for some differences based on upbringing), Cannot Recombine, Extra Time (roughly 20 years to cover the gestation period and time for "Junior" to grow to young adulthood), and the limitation Creating Duplicate Requires A Suitable Host Mother. The later limitation is where I hit a snag, how much should something like that reasonably be worth? (the character also happens to have a decent Seduction roll and COM, so that should be a factor in deciding the value) *Yes I know some will say "plot device," but I enjoy the challenge of statting things out.
