  1. Re: Istvatha V'han - why can't she conquer Earth? I've been watching the television series The Universe and my current line of thinking is that not all universes are the same size, nor overly populated. In real life, most galaxies are small compared to the Milky Way and most solar systems have two to four stars while ours has one. Using just these two "criteria," I'd say most dimensions are smaller than ours, which makes our universe/dimension a bit more special. When it comes to each dimension, possibly only the "large" galaxies actually have life in them and even those have maybe a dozen to a score of sentient species or so, with our galaxy having a larger amount (about 26, according to Terran Empire, I believe). In addition, each galaxy only has a limited number of dimensional portals so V'han cannot simply field her entire assault fleet. Maybe dimensional portals are proportional to planets with life on them? Finally, most of V'ahn's conquests have been in dimensions (especially the younger ones) where life hasn't reached the stars. "Ruling" a planet of dinosaurs is quite simple, you just observe it from an orbital station. When V'han makes her big assault debut in Galactic Champions, she has discovered all the necessary portals and launches a simultaneous attack, along with an additional thousand years to train.
  2. Re: What would be your take on She-Grond? This is my thought line as well. Unless you go the comic trope of "female = hottie, male = ugly," then She-Grond would need either fan/gill ears and/or horns on her head (depending if she's 4E or 5E). I would go for a case of "mistaken identity" so-to-speak. Fourth Edition Watchers of the Dragon had Maya who was Indian and came from a long line of family members with the four arm mutation. She could easily be mislabeled by the US press. Another route might be to take a Catavalan (Terran Empire - 4-armed aliens) and give it memory loss or even a "merger" with a human to create a new person. Finally, if you can live without sexy-hotness in your female Grond, a cross between a Catavalan and Ackalian with super powers could fit in nicely. Then there's the whole mutation, experiment, etc. history angle of just why this was done, which could be filled in later. Just my thoughts. YMMV.

  4. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... From my online Champions game. The PCs are fighting DEMON MiBs (Mooks in Black) and Initiates. The six Initiates just fire and do put some hurt on the players (but there are 10 heroes here) The Hood: "You'll have to do better than that, my transvestite friends! Not that there's anything wrong with that - but that is so not your colour..." Field Test: (Was flying in the air, dazed by Spell of Torment, falls to the floor 10 hexes below) "I'm okay. My spine broke my fall...."

  8. Re: Hurl Lightning from another’s lightning ability… Without thinking about this too much, I would allow him to have a 1-4d6 Energy Blast (or 1pip to 1d6 RKA) and have Absorption that adds to the EB. On the plus side, it will save some points and is a unique (or at least uncommon) build. On the con side, it might cost close to the same of what you're looking for as welling as taking some time to get up to a worth-while power. Another option is to let him build it at full capacity and put a custom limitation on it, possibly linked with Absorption (maybe "can only cast 1d6 per Body absorbed"). This might be worth -1/2. This way, his attack doesn't start off very powerful, but can get there rather quickly.
  9. Re: Any interest in a Zodiac villain group? What? A speedster? I don't believe. I've never been a fast runner. My best time ever for a 2 mile run was 14 minutes. LIES! I tell you, "Lies!"

  12. I'll leave it in Vegas Agreed. I shall now unsubscribe to this thread since I don't believe anything more productive or entertaining can come from it. It'll also not get me riled up at what I see are horrific responses, but that's me.
  13. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... I hate to just add a smiley and leave or a simple one-worded response, but I do find that funny, especially if everyone involved is a good friend and can laugh at it.
  14. Re: What happens in Vegas... That's a heroic response to not being at your side? No concern for Captain Zapper. No concern for the civilian.
  15. Re: What happens in Vegas... Twisted? Interesting spin. Maybe you're "twisting things to [your] own view?" As I've stated, I take the following:
  16. Re: Any interest in a Zodiac villain group?
  17. Re: What happens in Vegas... The first paragraph of the scenario strongly implies that the reason for being in Vegas and the casino robbery are totally unrelated. As for why was it a WWYCD scenario, there are no requirements in making them. Perhaps it was a test to see what people's character truly was.
  18. Re: What happens in Vegas... Captain Zapper - having been requested by a super hero group to assist in urgent business, Captain Zapper follows said heroes to Vegas. Unfortunately, the week-long stay in Vegas proves useless for their entire stay as their leads are all dead ends. Finally having some time off at the end of their stay, Captain Zapper decides to actually rest and relax while the others went out to gamble. His wife, a shapeshifter who loves roleplaying in the bedroom, appears as a hot, long-legged blonde and "seduces" the Captain. (His wife's love of variety and roleplaying have given the Captain a false, 14- Reputation of being a Lecher and Glory Hound, but this prevents anyone from realizing that in his Secret ID he's actually happily married.) Having missed the physical and emotional comfort of his wife (she's often away on business trip), Captain Zapper makes the night last as long as possible. Unfortunately, the evening is interrupted by people whom the Captain thought were honest, noble, heroes. Instead, the week ahead shows that the people whom the Captain put his trust in to keep the most sacred things private have exposed who he is and caused a defamation of his character. Struck with grief at the 180 degree betrayal and entering the downwards spiral of depression seeing his life get turned into utter ruins, Captain Zapper commits suicide. Mrs. Zapper - She sees the truth about the facade of heroes and their selfish double standards. She had believed her husband when he said humans were inherently good, not a easy task to convince her, but she had loved him. No more. She use her powers and skills and talents to become an assassin and she kills off the family of the supers who exposed her husband's passion before killing them as well. Once the super "heroes" are dead, dismantled and/or destroyed, she becomes known to the underworld as Masquerade.

  23. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Seven DEMON agents (4E) just shot grenades (7d6, explosive) at the PCs; everyone is pretty much in a small 4 hex diameter room. EVERYONE gets hit from all the grenades, but damage was so horrid that no one gets the full KO (not even the DEMON agents). Field Test: All right, *now* you're just pissing us off.
