Re: Enemies of San Angelo I love Enemies of San Angelo! It has my favorite individual villain (Deadweight! After reading his write-up and build, you'll see why I was so disappointed in Gravatar) and one of my favorite villain teams, Anarchy. (I even had plans for them -in a previous campaign- to ambush Eurostar when Eurostar came after the PCs.) I like the Scions so much that I've been trying to create a mentalist with that name to fit into campaigns. Out of the many (33, did MitchellS say?) characters, there were only 3 that I didn't care for, which is a much lower number than other books. I personally love the San Angelo campaign setting; it's what I use for my face-to-face game. I really can't see how you'd be disappointed with this book. Nearly every piece of artwork is great, practically every villain has a 'normal' who has some history with said villain, it really is a great book. The only thing I wish the book had (that I can recall) is that the villain Chrome's write-up included a write-up for the deceased hero Alloy. If you have the opportunity to purchase it, do so!

Re: *inspired my other threads* Gravitar vs Crowns of Krim Without having Tactics, I'd think Gravitar's Phase 12 action would pretty much always be her 50 STR TK AoE 11", especially against teams. Gravitar has KS: Superhuman world 14-, with Dark Seraph having Superhuman world 11- *and* KS: Mystic World 13-. I would think that Gravitar would know the Crowns of Krim were the most powerful nefarious team, but not know much about them and their powers (other than being mystical in nature), while Dark Seraph might know Gravitar is a powerful superhuman with gravity powers. I would treat the combat as neither side knows the other's strengths or weaknesses. Gravitar's TK might be enough to pin them all (I think Temblor has 50 STR?), but I didn't read much on them. I know at least one has desolidification + flight, and I think two or more (maybe just one) has Missile Deflection. Can MD be used to deflect the TK?

Re: Just Picked Up Champions Worldwide Sometimes, we get screwed over in a not-so-good way. While I like the updates to 5th Edition for the book. I'm not happy with a lot of the characters and teams that were deleted/modified/created. I could give you a long list of things I don't like and a very short list of things I do like, but that would probably sound like nasal whining.

Re: Freezing the Time I don't believe so. To begin with, 135 points breaks most campaign caps. Secondly, the AoE is extremely limited. I think of it more like playing a video game where you get to pause it. For example, Baulder's Gate. I can pause the game, but the computer opponent cannot. I can also give my 'team' commands (though for HERO, just me). Or treat it like another video game where you can pause it, but you have the "cheat code" to move your character. Also Bauder's Gate did have a Time Stop spell, which was wickedly awesome, except that the toughest demon to fight in the game was immune to it.

Nor have I done what you say you haven't, nor have I done the opposite. You just refuse to read what's posted when your interpretation fits your desire. I was actually mocking you, something else you failed to observe. (But here, I'll do it Chuck style: ) I never said Gravitar needs to ambush Eurostar. If you note, I said Gravitar would most likely win a fight that starts out in her favor; however, you do seem irrationally opposed to the concept of Eurostar ambushing Gravitar (a tried and true tactic of theirs). And since the scene of "Gravitar walks into a bar and finds Eurostar" isn't likely to happen, the meeting engagement would have to be rare. So, it falls back to who surprises whom. If Gravitar has surprise, she'll win; if Eurostar has surprise, they'll win.

Re: Opinion: EuroStar Hero Games really weakened Eurostar when converting them to 5E. Going down the list: Fiacho is SPD 5 instead of 6, DEX 23 instead of 33, no longer has Find Weakness and his OCV/DCV has gone from 15 to 13. Bora has been removed. She was a 30 DEX, 7 SPD w/ 40" of flight and 14 OCV/DCV. Durak is essentially the same, but slightly weakend. His PD dropped from 35 to 30, his Lack of Weakness dropped from 10 to 5, his STUN dropped from 80 to 75. And while his COM and EGO increased from 4 and 8 to 8 and 10 respectively, his PRE dropped from 30 to 25 (which is understandable considering he's weaker and on a weaker team, I guess). White Flame was 600 points with OCV/DCV of 13/9 and 105 pt MP; he's been replaced with a weaker 492 pt Feuermacher with OCV/DCV 10/7 and 62 pt MP. White Flame also had a 50 pt EC which Fm lacks. Le Sone is now Ultrasonique, but is toned down from 401 points to 384. His Dex has dropped from 26 to 23, his SPD from 6 to 5, his defenses from 20/3 PD 25/5 ED to 18/10 PD/ED. Even his Stun Dropped 40 to 35. While he gained 1 point of EGO, he lost 2 pts in COM and 10 points in INT! His OCV/DCV has gone from 12/9 to 10/8. Mentalla has had some slight improvements. EGO is now 25 instead of 23, PRE is 20 instead of 15 and SPD is 6 instead of 5. However, Her MP dropped from 100 to 87, her attacks from 16d6 to 14d6, she had 26/16 Defenses for both PD/ED, now she only has that for ED, PD is 24/16. She lost her Desolidification. The Whip who was 7 SPD, 33 DEX 14/12 OCV/DCV antagonist is now gone. Pantera is gone. While she's "replaced" by Scorpia, the differences are vast. Pantera was 7 SPD, 35 DEX with 4d6 HKAw w/Find Weakness on 14-, OCV 13/DCV 12 and 2 BODY Regeneration. Scorpia is 5 SPD, 24 DEX (28 w/Lightning Reflexes), with 2d6 HKA (though CKC states she's 1 1/2d6 w/STR; that has to be a typo) and no Find Weakness. Her redeeming quality is that she has 12 OCV/DCV +3 w/Throwing blades (only one of which is truly scary). Even with der Westgote, 5E Eurostar is not the threat 4E was. I used to think Eurostar had the best villains Europe had to offer, now it seems like they're taking what's left over. If Dinamo and Der Schwarze Tod could be added (and upgraded to be able to pull out multiple members), then they'd start being the threat they used to be.
