Science is more than a body of knowledge; it is a way of thinking. I have a foreboding of an America in my children's or grandchildren's time – when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the key manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what's true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness... The dumbing down of America is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media, the 30 second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance.

Really not much has changed about disadvantages except the number of complications you need to take.   Every of matching complications you do not take reduces the points you get.  The standard superhero is 400 points and needs 75 points in matching complications.   So, if you only take 50 points of complications for your standard superhero you get 375 points to build the character.  If you take more than the required amount you don’t get any extra points.    All they really did is change it from adding points for disadvantages, to subtracting points for not having complications.  The end result is identical.  What they did was recognize that almost all starting characters took the maximum allowed disadvantages.

Complications under 6th edition are not worth more points than the disadvantages of the earlier editions.  A Psychological complication/disadvantage that occurs very frequently with a total commitment is worth 25 points in both systems.   They actually cut the number of points of complications you need to take in 6th edition but left the point values basically the same.

They did actually increase the value starting characters get.  In 5th edition the standard superhero was 350 points, in 6th edition it is 400.   The extra 50 points was likely to cover the increased cost of the figured stats.

so wrong, one of the cats would be moving on to the 'my side' of the bed. because cats would read 'my side' as their side and 'cat side' as theirs too.

I got the results back on those two standardized tests I had to take last month. I passed both of them comfortably. I just have a couple of assignments to wrap up from my methods course, and then I can apply for the additional endorsements I will need for the next school year.

There is an awful smell in the kitchen and we can't find it. We looked under the stove, under the fridge, we've treated the drains... nothing. I fear an animal has died in the walls.

A focus can be considered inaccessible if it is difficult to take away.  For example, you could have could be carrying so many weapons that they have to practically do a strip search to find them all.  If you have to spend more than at least a turn out of combat to take away all the weapons that is considered an inaccessible focus.     What it really comes down to is how much effort it takes to take away the power.

Use a VPP that is limited to multiforms.   A 50-point VPP with no skill roll costs 100 points.  That would allow you to have up to 250 point multiform.  That assumes the transformation happens out of combat.  Depending on how the power works you can probably put a few limitations to reduce the control cost.  If you can only change into things you killed, that should be worth at least a -1 limitation.  That reduces the cost of the 50-point VPP to 75 points.

It is expensive, but not as bad as it seems.  Multiform is relatively inexpensive and that is the only thing you really need in the VPP.

Skills cannot be put into a VPP, but multiform can be.
