Tom Cowan reacted to RDU Neil in Storn's Art & Characters thread.
Storn gifted me with this poster that features the major PCs from my 30 year campaign. Always an honor to have a friend and fellow gamer who can draw great stuff for a campaign! This poster just scream George Perez-esque, and is getting framed for the Geek Cave.

Tom Cowan reacted to LoneWolf in Growth and Multiform
Each multiform is essentially a completely separate character. Build each completely from the ground up; they only have what each form pays for regardless of what the other forms have. If you want an ability that they all have each form has to pay for it. This includes skills, stats and any other aspect of the character. So all forms are normal sized unless they purchase an size related abilities.
Growth and shrinking are for characters that can change their size, not for those who are permanently larger or smaller. A character who is larger or smaller than normal is supposed to simply buy the stats appropriate for the size, and take a physical complication for his size.

Good god, don't these people know better?
Tomorrow morning, a lab tech will walk into the lab and find the little piece of amber cracked open... FROM WITHIN! The so called "fossil" is nowhere to be seen.
Soon afterwards, all contact with the lab will be lost. The same will happen with the first emergency responders on the scene, as only a garbled radio call will be recorded... "...ahh... so many... kkkkkk...aaaa.... all over us... kkkkk..."
Local news will show shakey camera shots of Myanmar soldiers setting up a road block, then the camera image will jerk skyward to the roar above, tracking two PAC JF-17 Thunder aircraft rocketing toward the lab location. Seconds later, the ground shakes violently from a massive payload drop.
The next day, all contact with Myanmar is lost to the outside world.
Seriously people... it all starts like this!

Tom Cowan reacted to archer in How to Build: Dancing weapons?
I’d do a dancing sword something like this:
PS: Tap Dancing
PS: Ballroom Dancing
PS: Latin Dancing
PS: Folk Dancing
Flight 3” (Only up to 6 feet high)
An embedded “Computer” enchantment so it knows when to start and stop, plus where it has room to dance (some dances like the tango and quick step require a lot of room).
If you want it to dance to musical accompaniment, some GM’s might make you buy normal hearing for it but I’d throw that in for free. YMMV
Come to think of it, you could buy it as a vehicle since many dances require that you pick up and move your partner.

He teams with a Callous Metal Brick, a demented gadgeteer who is looking for a place to belong (with deadly consequences), and a lion...

Tom Cowan reacted to Cassandra in Worst action movie clichés
The Battlestar Galactica Reboot may have been more "realistic" but lacked heart. The reason we remember the original show fondle is it had a cast we liked.

An interesting article on why opioid addiction is such a much bigger issue in America than anywhere else...
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-41701718
But my favorite quote (of the various reasons why)...
Some Americans, says Professor Keith Humphreys from Stanford University, believe that life is "fixable".
"I'm 51," he says. "If I go to an American doctor and say 'Hey - I ran the marathon I used to run when I was 30, now I'm all sore, fix me', my doctor will probably try to fix me.
"If you do that in France the doctor would say 'It's life, have a glass of wine - what do you want from me?'"
In 2016, a study compared how Japanese and American doctors prescribed opioids. It found that Japanese doctors treated acute pain with opioids in 47% of cases - compared to 97% in the US.
"There is obviously a willingness, and a habit, of giving opioid pain relief that is not shared elsewhere," says Professor Feinberg.
"Other countries deal with pain in much healthier ways."
