  1. Re: The Avengers Project for Champions My goal is accessibility and familiarity. I've got scads of appropriate Heroclix, old MSH area maps, and have DMed Hero off and on for years. Plus who didn't watch Avengers Movie and get excited about Heroics again ? I welcome any critiques of the sheets I post, and any ideas for the game. Squirrel Girl is the only one posted so far. (Click on the word CONVEN) to see the sheet layout I have in mind. If someone has a better HDE file, please send it to me.
  2. Re: The Avengers Project for Champions I'm using some of Susano's excellent website for starters. He and others have done excellent work already, so I am (lazy) not going to rewrite what is well written. I'm using the simplest convention-ready, newbie-friendly export format I can find from hero designer for the character sheet. Other writeups I'm getting from GNBORH, and a few other places.
  3. A Fifth Edition Convention Game Where I want to gather up medium power builds of some of Marvel's Mightiest Heroes. Some of the obvious choices are there: Iron Man, Hulk, Dr.Pym, Thor. But some of my favorites are in the mix also: Hawkeye, Wonder Man, Mantis. Here's the site: Avengers The Supers are ten men and ten women. My goal is to have convention ready character sheets for all 20, and run the first session at Marscon. And encourage female players to try Hero. I'm hoping the recent good movies will give my plan a kickstart.
  4. Re: Classic Super Hero Teams Begging for any help available {I'm staring at Cassandra as I say this, but please, could anyone help} Has anyone got HDC files for the following people? All are Avengers or related Marvel supers: MS.MARVEL aka WARBIRD WONDER MAN VISION STAR FOX SCARLET WITCH MOCKINGBIRD METEORITE aka MOONSTONE please pop them off to Egyptoid @ Gmail . Com if its cool. Thanks a Lot.

  6. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... DEATH WATCH 40K The Ogryn, not having the needed Power Weapon Proficiency, still had to cut through an obstacle, and so picks up the antagonist with a power sword by his feet, and uses that whole set-up to solve the problem. Neither the sword nor the wielder survived the experience. === Our PC group ended up rescuing a bunch of VIPs cut off by the local civil war. Most are competent, but we are babysitting a young navigator guild girl 13 years of age. (npc) She does not have her powers yet. Earlier she had been quite hysterical about losing her ship and her parents. The Rogue Trader had proffered her a variety of pills to calm her down. She did not appreciate this, assuming they were like rohypnol or ketamine. Later when we got to a place of relative safety, I gave our group the lecture about "Everyone pulls their weight, Everyone earns their keep, Everyone fights, no one quits, no one loafs, everyone takes turns cleaning up camp or sitting watch, etc. etc." About every fifth word I looked pointedly at the girl; to give her the notion to be more like Princess Leia than Princess Aurora. Finally we noticed she had no weapon. So when we did some looting of a Wal-Mart equivalent later, I got her some pants, a cyan colored auto-gun and an autograph model Hannah Montana Mono-Filament sword. This she immediately stabbed into the Rogue Trader, who was only saved at the last second by his guards. === Previously the player named his Ogryn Hanover.
  7. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... >>>the ability to investigate, follow leads, and deduce probable scenarios. Just the kind of thing a D&D 4 player never has to do. Sweet. Totally repped.
  8. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... DEATH WATCH 40K RPG: On Delta Gamma, our DW heroes are trying to save an Imperial Capital from the combined ravages of Chaos and Tyranids. Due to the dire circumstances, we must cooperate with a Rogue Trader cadre, and also a crew of Eldar envoys. (a Rogue Trader Blusters on how he is saving the planet...) (then silently on the deathwatch comm link) "Men, Let the Rogue Trader think he's in charge, it benefits us all" "Sir, What is the plural of Apocalypse?" "Since the squad upgraded their chain-swords, I also had to upgrade my helmet with new face plate wipers" "No, no. Honor and Deeds are the true currency of the Eldar. Arrogant comments are merely how they make change"
  9. Re: Always knows a name Does knowing a name matter in your campaign ? Is it a spy game ? a true magic game ? Hard to build the power without context. Although your basic build above seems valid, but is not supernatural. Can someone be zeroed out ? (ie this character cannot know it) to me a KS would have to based on something somewhere being recorded, to be knowable.

  18. Re: Spinning Pulp Racism Into Something Productive Make each "race" useful for something. The PC group can't get things done without X's help : like Chinatown for any pharmaceutical related questions, the African-Americans know about mysticism and ghosts, the Italians can make the money move, or make people disappear, the Poles can shut down the waterfront if needed, the Jews can unload those jewels for you the Vietnamese in the garment district can make you those disguises you need etc etc

  21. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares I'm going to give you guys one more chance. I've been very disappointed with Gen-Cr-Nightmares lately. Cause I feel I've put up some pretty sick, gut wrenching stuff. And no rep, no LOLs, no groans, nothing. So here ya go, if this doesn't make you ill, I give up. ~ ~ ~ THUNDERBRATZ ~ ~ ~ A team of humanoid girls with a passion for fashion fight evil in the mall of their adopted home world.
  22. Re: Who you include in your Magical Harem of Fictional Characters? don't forget the Evil Overlord 101 list: One of my advisors will be an average five-year-old child. Any flaws in my plan that he is able to spot will be corrected before implementation. So one of the girls in the harem should be Shirley Temple, or Dora Explorer if you're younger.
  23. Re: Mindcontrol: the dumber, the easier I would buy 40 dice of armor-piercing (or AVLD) mind control. then the limitations pile on: basically one of those dice is usable per point of INT away from 41 of the target. at 41 or higher INT, they evade you automatically. and those last few dice should be dirt cheap, like -4 limitation or so.
