Re: Musings on Random Musings
I have no real problem bailing others out of emergencies they've created... now and then. When it becomes a habit, and they begin to assume that I will always save them from themselves, that's when it begins to bother me.
Re: The cranky thread
I am so tired of reading email. I get over a hundred a day, not counting the spam, and I have to respond to at least half of them. It's affecting my pbem games because, oh god, another email I have to respond to.
Re: The cranky thread
The people who wrote the software library did it in such a way that Cancer has to write twice as much code to do the same thing. It is especially dumb because it's busywork code; the computer ought to be able to figure that out by itself.
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER
Either we're looking at a clueless teammate who's about to get drilled at point-blank by the prone defender he didn't see, or a clueless teammate watching his team get slaughtered by the flanker he didn't see.
Re: Genre-crossover nightmares
Actually I went and did some serious googling after I posted that. It seems BB's right hand either doesn't move or is attached to his head with a wire (I'll be looking for this next time I'm stuck watching Sesame Street). The muppeteer has a monitor in there so he sees what the audience would see. It all sounds very... difficult.
Re: Genre-crossover nightmares
You laugh, but I sit and watch and I try to figure out how they're controlling the muppets. It looks like most muppets take at least two people to control--two hands and a mouth. Some are obviously radio-controlled, like Elmo on a trike. And lots of the new shows are shot against a bluescreen to make it easier to hide the operators. But I still can't figure out how Big Bird's beak moves, or how the guy in the suit can see past all the feathers.
Re: A Thread for Random Musings
But not as much as the people I'm currently on a con call with. I can't believe I'm participating in a discussion over where the powerpoint titles will go.
Re: Musings on Random Musings
Yeah, cold weather really sucks. Last week I took my kid to the beach and we were only in the water for less than half an hour before he started to shiver. It didn't help that a cloud would occasionally cover up the sun.
Re: FH Gripes
And yet only Hero is capable of handling such a wide range of power levels so smoothly. 40 STR would be appropriate for a high-magic or mythic scale game.
Re: Genre-crossover nightmares
Is that really a crossover? I watch a lot of Sesame Street nowadays, and it seems to me that they already radiate madness.
