  1. Purchase Desolidification of course. Have you even read the rules book? ^^ La Rose.
  2. Why be dubious of it. And if it is built the way I suggest, it is a fair chunk of points and hardly unbalancing. If a character could show me rationale for having penetrating on Charm, I would listen. Just because it is odd doesn't mean it can't be done. That said the mechanical effects of pen don't really mesh up with charm. That is the hard sell. DcV and AoE mesh up well. And lock picking at range sounds perfectly usuable. Perhaps it is a TK user thief who can sense through their TK. Makes perfect sense to put on Range. I might just allow them to use their skill through their pre established detect and TK powers, though. Adding the advantage seems unneeded for the desired effect, but who knows. There is no good way, however, to replicate the same basic effect of DCV withought using DCV, on whole and in particular to the above case. La Rose.
  3. Let me further elaborate. Your PC wants a DCV of 13 vs attacks that are targeted or AoE. He buys 10levels of DcV at 50 points base. He then applies AoE One Hex (1/2) and selective (1/4). Active and real cost then comes to 87 points. He will always have a 13 DcV (personal base of three / hex base of three PLUS ten). The character is now hard to hit regardless of type of attack but his hex is still easy to destroy as he is applying the DcV only to himself. Double check my math and adders as I am doing this quickly from my phone. If the character wants his personal DCV to be higher, then he can buy up his normal DCV. If he wants his AoE defense to be greater than his personal, he can either sell back his base three DcV or apply an 'only vs AoE' lim on his DcV power. Maybe at a -1/2 lim rate depending on your GM. La Rose.
  4. If yout goal is to avoid some effects of AoE attacks, you could buy some levels of DcV with AoE one hex and selective. This will boost your hex up and you could say the spfx is just you dodging even AoE attacks with the same flare as you do normal ones. La Rose.
  5. Great show. Stupid, stupid, horrible, awful episode. Most of the final moment bits were terrible. La Rose.
  6. I do not know the books mentioned here myself so I can't comment in detail as to why they did what they did but I'll offer up a little bit. There are tons of examples of civilizations never developing something or only doing it at the most basic level because they didn't see the need for it or couldn't. Let us look at China for example. They have two keen examples of this: black powder and glass. In the case of the former, they developed the compound and expanded on it a bit but never took it to what we consider its natural progression. It wasn't until the Europeans got their hands on it that it really revelutionized warfare. The Chinese, for a myriad of reasons never saw the need to create the massive cannons and such the europeans did. That also held them back in developing the same kind of portable cannons (muskets). And isn't like they didn't have time. Gun powder existed in China for a very long time before being introduced to the west. In the latter case, the Chinese knew of glass and made some uses of it but never, to my knowledge, expanded on it to create lenses, telescopes, or researched the heavens quite the same way. And some of their chemical knowledge was hampered by not exploring more with various bases and acids because they didn't see that much interest in it. All that is to say that if these aliens had no need to fuse things, then they might just have never thought to do the extensive reseach. Afterall, if you have all the energy you need and don't need to kill massive numbers of people, why waste time trying to recreate the explosive and highly radioactive innards of a star? Also, there could be tons of other anti-tech social issues. Maybe they had a fukushima event and proceeded to ban all nuclear development. Maybe they think fusion is God's domain and not to be messed with. Civs that made contact later probably never got to the tech level that would inspire them to develop nuclear power before having their civ lifted into opulence via other techs that the older group had. La Rose.
  7. Nope. I am not a fan of either archer. Might even have to vote against who ever picks theirs since it is too obvious a choice. La Rose.
  8. Yeah, we have that. It IS the police. That is why we don't have the FBI or National guard doing normal police work. Besides, no standard City, County, or State department has the funds to run two separate but consecutive forces. Be nice if we had such funding, though. La Rose.
  9. You could link the clairsentience power and overall skill together as one power and then slap on a collective side effects limitation to cover the personality trait change. One benefit of this is that if the victims personality wasn't that far off but they had some other kind of lim, ot is easy and reasonable to change the type of side effect to match the situation. But that is coming from someone with no knowledge of the show. La Rose.
  10. I was just going over this thread for something different when I came back across these posts. Does this mean I was the only manager to field every member of my team in both solo and tag-team settings? Surely at least one more person fielded their whole lineup in solo and combo situations, right? La Rose.
  11. That means Psy and I should be within a couple points of eachother now. La Rose.
  12. Wow. That is actually good news. Some eight or so years ago it was closer to a quarter. Maybe over a quarter. La Rose.
  13. I was just trying to add the clarity of weapon proficiency. Having unarmed as the freebie and then adding rapiers for fencing. La Rose.
  14. https://news.vice.com/article/judge-acquits-cleveland-cop-who-stood-on-hood-and-fired-15-rounds-through-windshield-at-unarmed-couple?utm_source=vicenewsfb It would that jumping on the hood of a car that you and your fellow cops have riddled with bullets and then proceed to unload fiften more rounds gang style is a justfiable action if you have a badge. La Rose.
  15. Wait, are all the teams picking people now? La Rose
  16. I don't see why we need their (the four player's) consent. We can just say who will fight who at our leisure. Why muddy things up with "choice" and "integrity"? Day one should be: Thor v Miss Martian. And Aquaman v Powergirl. So it has been declared and so shall it be! ^-^ La Rose.
  17. I do not have my book with me now but isn't that what weapon proficiencies solve. I think you get ome automatic proficiency when you buy a Martial arts package that is usable with that set. Then you can expand that by getting morr weapon proficiencies. They would let you cross apply a single mechanic to multiple styles. La Rose.
  18. No, no they don't. But it was still an interesting little bit. La Rose.
  19. So, Twitter has a policy not allowing hate speech. People flagged for hate speech will have their posts reviewed and action taken against them if they are deemed to have engaged in hate speech. But yeah, twitter is doing nothing to stop them. To me this is a bunch of stupid people who are quickly being parted with their money for being stupid. All the better I'd say. La Rose.
  20. Okay, I found the scene that I am talking about when I talked about Iris earlier. It was part of Episode 18. I thought she yelled at him but it was just the classic "100% or nothing" statement. Okay, upon further thought, I actually do not like the character. Not "meh" but actually actively dislike her. The more I reflect on Hermit's comments about her being a bit spoiled, the more I find myself in agreement. The one way relationship with Eddie. The man always tried to be upfront and honest with her and she never put real trust in him. She even thought he was actually cheating on her when her only reason was that he wasn't talking as much as before. When confronted with what she even claimed to be a good reason from her best friend, she still demanded more from poor Eddie. Eddie most certainly deserves far better than Iris. Then there is how she seems to think and treat Barry as hers. The most obvious example was when she sabotaged Barry's perfectly good and healthy relationship. When Barry asked her to drop the website issue and the Flash did too, she kept going. Because, by good god absolutely 'no one is going to tell ME what to do'. That alone is a good reason to keep her out of the loop - she isn't exactly earning trust when she stubbornly ignores the warnings and requests of her father, best friend, and savior. In the alternate timeline she was all too eager to dump a perfectly good man to chase after Barry just because he was the flash. Shallow much? So, I actually really do not like that character. Maybe Season II will change that but I feel about her much the same as I feel about Fish Mooney now. But at least Fish is out of the picture. La Rose.
  21. So I know that in the comics Barry and Iris are a thing. But I in no way want that from this show. And I don't say that out of some dislike for Iris - I just don't like the relationship of Iris and Barry. She should be with an Eddie or someone. Barry should be with someone who isn't Iris. And under NO circumstances should Iris become the confidant of Barry and replace her father. I would much rather see that character killed off than lose the Barry-Joe conversations. La Rose.
  22. I notice there are a number of posts following this and I haven't gotten to reading those yet, but I wanted to touch on this real quick. I think you, FrankL and I are all talking about a different scene. As I recall there are two scenes where Iris flips. The first, the one I think FrankL and I are talking about is when Barry talks with her about how tough Eddie's job is and how he is most certainly not cheating on her (which seemed to be what she was thinking). Rather than accept the 'perfectly reasonable' explanation that sometimes cops deal with stuff that leave them with serious emotional baggage, she just lays into Eddie. That was rude. There is a later scene where she learns that everyone has lied to her and she gets upset and response with that anger: that was not rude. La Rose.
  23. That was a good point. And the way you presented it was quite clear and well made. As to the content, though, I am less inclined to take it to be true that otherwise 'innocent' men and women are the victims of violent crime at the same rate given the stats I have seen. But given what you have said, it will cue me into looking even more closely to see if any of the studies have breakdowns of 'innocence'. Lastly, I do not quite understand the intent of your last sentence. My natural reading of it is less than favorable so I figure that before I assume anything, it would be best to ask you to clarify. So, what do you mean "... not so much for Susie"? La Rose.
