  1. Re: Calm the Storm Has anyone thought about buying a Megascale suppress against "stormy weather." It is naturally cumulative and you can just buy a range of dice to influence the spead at which you do it. Also Autofire (although this gets expensive quick) would also work to circumvent the time requirement. Just my 2 cents La Rose
  2. Re: The Littlest Fireman 1st.: The First power was built as a general catch all for being a ghost. So I took the three things I thought a general ghost might have and lumped them all together as a means of keeping them separate from the other individual specific power. The three things being: Desolid, Flight (ghostly walk), and a general detect life force (thanks for catching it lacking the what it detects ). The Megascale is a little off. It was suppose to be scalable from 1km to 20m. I know that scalable isn't suppose to be used in that manner, ie a cheep way of building Medium range movement, but since it is an NPC I thought I would fudge the rules. This was just to avoid building another Teleport that would get you from one near by house to another. IE if the house your in is put out but you have to get down the block to the next one, it would either require him to ghost walk down there or do some triganometry to Megascale Teleport from one point to another then back again but down the block. It was my lazy answer to another Teleport. Thanks again for the catch though. It has been corrected on my comp now. La Rose

Also does an attack coming from a desolid character need "affects Desolid" on it to hurt another desolid? Or is that just simply a GM call? La Rose As promised the revamped version is attached. In response to the idea of an aid to Ego. I opted for: 5) Inspirational Presence: +15 EGO, Usable Simultaneously (up to 2 people at once; +1/2), Area Of Effect (One Hex; +1/2), Affects Physical World (+2); Limited Power Power loses about half of its effectiveness (Only to resist Fear.; -1), Nonpersistent (-1/4). There isn't any doubt here about what the effect will be. It also only works to make them stable against the fear. It will also help the little fireman to resist the fearsome apparitions out there that would dissuade him from his purpose! I also gave him a little firemans axe. It only does 1d6 HKA but that should be enough. It also have a extra 2d6 to harm evil specters that would do such things. I don't know if that will be enough to really hurt / kill a specter but it should be enough to convince them to go away. Also with it being an accurate AOE attack it will hit. I thought of the power as being something that God (or what ever force is guiding the child) acting on behalf of the child. The SpF/X of it would be a shining light beaming down upon the area as if from coming from heaven itself. I wasn't sure about increasing his PD, seeing as how it is at only 1. But given the circumstances around him, I think that is where it should be. It isn't likely that a PD attack could ever effect him. I also gave him "life sight." I call it sight, but it operates more like his Fire sense in that it is just a targeting Mystic sense. Ie "I feel that someone is over here." Lastly I boosted his PRE to 13. I don't know how high you want his PRE to be, but I think given normal humans 13 is essentially twice as high as a average normal. And he as the boost to ego to compensate (total ego of 23 to resist fear, not to mention a total psyc lim). La Rose

It is only useful in a combat situation (that is only 1/2 the game) and then only useful to half the effect of the normal move in a combat situation (Half effect of normal build). That is two marks against it and I think that is worth 1/2. If I was GM I might be persuaded to make it 3/4 lim, depending on how drunk you got me . Moral of the story: Get your GM loaded with booze then get character approval! But if I didn't think it was something that could become unbalancing in my specific game, compared to the other PCs, I would allow a -3/4 lim. La Rose
  18. Re: How to open a door? For something that is really subtle, I have an idea. Have him procure a simi love (or just straight mind control) serum that makes the subject complacent to the agents will. Then use said serum on someone in the upper echelons of the bank who can open the vault. That person then opens the vault and even retrieves the item for you. Then have him use some kind of mind wipe serum that acts on all the memories of the last couple days. The manager knows he is missing time, but doesn't know what happens. What ever valuable item was stolen catches the attention of the PC group and it is then their goal to figure out what happened to him and find a way to retrieve the stolen property. It allows for a theft that is off camera, and an investigation that is on camera for the PCs. Like? Edit in: Benefit is that it doesn't require some long protracted fight to occur to get in, since you did request for a subtle way in. It only requires relatively low lever super tech, after all you are only effecting a normal to do this. This keeps costs down, potential other bad guys (hired supers) out of the loop. If the Agent is competent this will work, and even earn him praise in the ranks. Just my immediate thought, La Rose.

I wasn't going for someone who has been everywhere and as such could conjure up knowledge on most any place. Rather, someone who has been to a fair amount and also has various cultural knowledge to suit them as well. This gets expensive when you start talking about buying 12 such knowledges (city, area, and Cult). That is why I asked if the general herodum would allow it. As a house rule we allowed you to boost up the enhancer with GM permission if you bought an 'appropriate' amount of skills through it. Or If it was view that the skills were not going to have a great impact. (Edited in) I ask because it will save 9pts on skills. I don't really know how useful the skills will be. I will be asking how far reaching (in a terrestrial sense) the game is when I submit the character for approval. Until then, this is mostly academic in discussion. But if the use of such Knowledges aren't going to be significantly game effecting, then I would prefer to take the point break on the. Without the point break from Expert (just the normal traveler) it is costing 27pts (all at 13 due to int). (edited in) Thanks everyone La Rose
  20. I was curious about if you would allow this. If someone buys twelve knowledges that Traveler can work on. Would you allow them to pay 6pts for an expert level that takes 2 points off instead of standard 1? Just curious about what most of you would allow. La Rose
  21. Re: Review this character Without repeating anything mentioned above I will just make a suggestion with regards to the Mind Scan. Being that the MP only has ultra slots, it would be impossible for him to use the Mind Scan and another power at the same time. It would be a little (one point) cheaper to tack on "Neither Character nor Target Can Attack Through Link." This would allow him to locate others, but not attack / be attacked through it. Also, as a general rule of thumb but not a stead fast rule, I don't allow one mental power to have an additional class of minds without all them taking it. But again that isn't an absolute law, but a good rule of thumb. La Rose.
  22. Re: Water Tunnel Is he the only person that can pass through the tunnel, or is it static so that everyone can? If he is the only one I would it is just the special effect of flying, only usable under water. If he can have other people accompany him, I would say that it is most likely either Tunneling with limited medium and some GM hand waving or (and much more expensive) Flight, area of effect, usable simultaneously, and Life support. With the special effect of having a tunnel form for you over a specified area and you (and anyone standing in the path) being carried through it. Edit: Yes, environmental movement would be good.
