  1. Re: Naruto For Garaa's Desert coffin I was thinking of something like a "martial Grab it ranged attached to it and Limitation representing the need for sand." But that was just a thought. And for Someone like Sasuke maybe a VPP with Cosmic on it and large enough so he can place any power in there that he has the 'chakra' to use. Also slap on a few limitations to show that he has to observe the ability also that he must be using the sharingan to learn it and anything else that might be right. La Rose

    Naruto

    Hello My Hero Elite. I was really board last night and it started to puzzel me. How would you best buy/make the abilities showcased on Naruto? For certain characters like Sakura it is easy, just buy up equvilent stats and knowledges. But when you get to characters like Garaa with the control over sand and Neji with his biyakugan(and all the powers that he commands from it.) it gets much harder to think of the proper way to build them. So I am asking for you and your expertise to me out here. Thank you all. La Rose PS: I have managed to watch every episode made so far and both movies as and I am a real big fan of the show. (expecially of Rock Lee)
  3. Re: Battletech Mecha First Loves, Favourites, and just plain silly. I have to say this is a easy question for me. My first love for BattleTech and the one that will never be removed is the Black Knight. Now I always do my own load out for it. I personally LOVE close combat. I don't know why but something about close in fighting seems so much more "honorable" so me. Also being the Stiener style player I am. I never use JJ in opt for all the different weapons and armor I can Have. Lights: Puma but loaded out so he carries two clan ER PPC, flamers(so he can breathe fire), max armor and boost the speed to 5/9 I think it was. If you spce the wieght just right you have a mobile PPC boat that doesn't build heat if he shoots both PPC and runs. Meduim: Centurian. Just sounds and Looks cool. Heavy: BLACK KNIGHT Assult: Pillager out of 3055. Remove the JJ and in little better weaponry. It has the most armor possible and packs two guas rifles. Also It is one of the few A. Mechs thats design was made so it could run and fire all weaponry with no Heat effects. This is my Second Fav. SouGen.

  5. Re: WWYYCD: The Rally LA Rose Would probly have the same response. He is Mil. City's premier super hero and has much better things to do. Also being a forein national, he doesn't see much need to mess with the American's right to spout off at anything and everything(Hell look at Bill O'Reilly). Most of my other memorable characters wouldn't care or would more than likily than not just hide(being the outcast). La Rose

Re: VERY Abusive Powers 1" Teleportation possition shift(same place opposite direction) Area of effect 1hex MegaScale(10meters) personal immunity Reduced end(zero) affects desolidified persistant inherent Usable as an attack uncontroled(to always be teleporting around the Character) always on This is a way of always keeping people away from you. Anyone enters your buble the automatically get teleported where they are but in opposite direction and since they would maintain momentum they would be walking(flying) right back out. About the only way for someone to get to(or hurt) you, he would have to teleport in so you wouldnt enter untill you were next to them. Also increase the mass you effect if you want to keep weapons from hurting you. 1inch teleportation position shift 4x penetrating usable as an attack reduced end(zero) ranged line of sight(so you wont have ranged mod) Variable advantage (+1) so you can tack on megascaled if you need to get them even farther away, or even just exter layers of penatrating if you need. ***also buy up about ten CSL with this attack alone so you don't miss. This one is ment to get your enemy AWAY, or though him on the ground near an ally but so his face is on the ground and you can attack him with a much higher chance of hitting. Also just buy up your mass you effect and build it with a -1/2 lim only to effect non-living things so you can get rid of a weapon. Also teleportation as a Damage Shield. Needless to say I love Teleportation. La rose
  8. Re: WWYCD: Evil in Innocence hmm it would be a hard choice but if there was no other way to exercise him from it. And he was fully aware of himself. I would have to say "kill the baby." Now if he wasn't aware of himself I would raise the Child, afterall it wouldn't hurt to have a super child on my team that could help us. And if we could exercise him, Well...I would have so many new ways of killing the sorceror that he would only wish for death. (wow ok maybe the Rose just became the Black Rose ) La Rose
  9. Hello Steve, I was just rewriting a Chracter in HD3 and when i made his 'Hand killing attack' the way str added into it was differant than in HD2. It was written as being: 2d6HKA with Autofire(three shots +1/4) so 37 active points. And the Character has a 15 str. I know that advantages that ajust damage mean str adds into them differently but I was under the impression that Autofire(Since it doesn't Mod damage) didn't apply to that rule. Sorry if this is confusing or Redundent. Thank you Very Much La Rose.
  10. Re: KB in games without KB? WOW. That would some 18 end just to use the power. Hope your guys can spend that much. Also ussually you only put 'only to activate' on continus powers. So why is on a NA? Since your starting reference power(such as HA) isnt cont.?

Just simply build a Naked advantage so that so many dice of HA(use the campaign standard for attacks) applie the Advantage of 'Does KB' and the put on limitations Such as: Extra end cost, Only works with B. Weapons, ect. Since Naked advanges are cheep to make it shouldn't be to far out of anyones price range to get if they wish. It will end up being on the same line of thought as creating your own power but without any of the repercusions of opening the door when you start creating your own powers. ***added on after the fact*** To address that it is a 'Feat Just call it a Talent and say you have to be trained to reutilize your weapon to this effectiveness.
  12. Re: KB in games without KB? Umm you could just simple add the advantage "Does KB." Just talk to your GM about it. Since the advantage (+1/4) was already seen to adiqute by Steve for senerios where you don't typicaly use KB. So I think in this case it has the same beirring. And yes Double KB does sound redundant.

Re: WWYCD: Mirror Universe "La Rose" already has a public ID, and in another world that was opposite of his he would probly be a member of a wealthy French/Italian Mofia and was a Lead man for them, and as such he would probly go out of his way to show his face to everyone as a "you can't stop me" bravado. However If "The Rose" was caught in that situation he would problyy see what he couldn't due to secure things legitamatly, and if he couldn't, try and only Use his "family" as pawns and figure out as much about them while he was there so in that last moment before the leaves. Hand it all over to police. Maybe even try and kill his Cousin Darren while he was there.(I mean if he was evil anyway what would be the harm?
  14. Re: What I do not get about package deals.. I on adverage don't think one way or another on package deals. I mean they don't serve a purpose for Chracters that arn't adverage. And in most games the PC are anything but Adverage. As far as defining the normal member of a race yeah it does give the PC an numerical idea but I think it is better left to descriptive speach from the GM rather than Codified stats. Also I do really dislike that they are called "DEALS" when they don't offer any thing in return for taking them as apposed to righting your own concept. But hey that is just my opinoin. La Rose.
  15. Re: Do you have Active Point Limits? I feel for my games at least, AP are a good thing. This is for two reasons: people know what there boundries are and as such know about what I am going to throw at them. Secondly it makes sure that no one character dominate ANY part of the game Combat or otherwise. Now before I get any feed back on AP. I don't enforce it like a mother hen, but question why anything NEEDS to go any higher at the start of the game( I remove the AP, after it starts, as long as you show caution). Also Something that I am reminded of and remind people, "IF I*the GM* have to go out of my way to build something that can compete with you character, I WILL SPARE NO EXPENCE!" After all, for everyway you tweek your character I can tweek the NPC and then your character will be having as much fun as the other PC were when they got left behind. Also I watch powers that are under the Ap as well. In the Hero Games I was in with Dr. An. running. My character might not of been able to "take out" most villians he could single handedly fight with them and not lose and I wasn't even at Half the active points for the game. So I know first hand that even small powers can have a BIG impact. 1point to kill them all. EB with Charges(1 unrecoverable charge) expendable focus(Earth) That could potentially distroy Earth for only 5 active pts, and one real.

I wish I could contribute to your School the way you wanted but unfortuneatly I have No Characters that have a Secret ID that isn't umm,,, Punishable by death. And the other Character I have(and for which I take my name sake) is a VERY public Hero that is quite rich and well known. Now I can think of a few good reasons for "The Rose" to be involved in a school like this and even some for why he would "not let the public know" but the students he has contact with would recognize him in a Second. (well I guess that is what you get when you have a 28Com) So if you would like to have a more public hero that could assist even finacially let me know. Also He isn't retired persay. Just that Dr. Anomaly's game that he was started in hasn't run for sometime due to not have a Certain player around anymore. But he is still by far my most Fav character. La Rose
  17. Re: Idle thinkings on BattleTech Ok. Something you might find as a Good Idea then would be to build the Mechas as Atamatons. That way you could call them V. for practical purposes and still get some effects only linked to Vehicles and Aut, Like Doesn't take Stun. I know you said earlier that you wanted to use stun as a way of showing interal systems not working properly but I think if you just stick with DTS it would be better in the end. Also use the Hit location table and make sure to in your head at least "plot out ammo paths and weapon locations." I say this becuase even though the mech might not take stun he will have to "lose powers or abilities" due to the DTS attribute. So it would make sense that if he takes a giant PPC shot to the right arm that he lose use of a weapon or two there:ugly: . Also use the DCV to OCV concept that Austenandrews mentioned earlier. It is a real *Nifty* idea. Also build in a End reserve with multiple disades representing how much End has been used( or lost ) in one Segement and have it automatically cuase problems with Movement/targeting/ect, and that could represent Heat management. Also make sure that it has a sutable End reserve Recov, becuase most mechs that were Poperly designed could discharge most weapons without worry of heat and could vent out most there built up heat in two orders or so. Also make sure that all onboard equipment uses end only from the End Reserv that way if they use it all up(over heat) they can't draw from anything else.   18. Re: Advanced energy sources: Some thought and pretty big numbers. Just as another abundent point. WE can produce anti-mater right here on Earth, and have a habit of it too. Currently the way we produce it cost a lot, but we aren't producing it for the sake of it. By that I mean, when we refine oil into gas we end up with really low Octane count gas that isn't sutable for our cars but is ok for Jet engines. But if we change our desired ends to be just jet grade fuel, we could produce it at a MUCH lower cost. Same thing with most human stuff. Just because we have something doesn't mean it was made at its cheepest possible rate. A lot of the things we have are little more than By-products that people hated throwing away and found a use for. So if we rearanged the way we make Anti-mater so that IT is the DESIRED end it would envitable cost less. And at some one down the line it will reach Economic Equilibrium. PS if you don't know already I really love that phrase.   19. Re: Idle thinkings on BattleTech Well this is one where I am accually a bigger fan of a Non-hero game. I have come to really enjoy Battle Tech the role playing game and how it is set up. Even though it lacks some of the "options" that hero provides it still is a point based game and that is the real draw of it for me. Also since all at the rules are there JUST USE THEM. Of corse if you are insistant on trying to plot hero starts to mech warrior you are going to run into a lot of problems. I like Fred but I Love Giant Mecha more. PS.   20. Re: How would you play this out in Hero: Thor's Hamemer used for Fast Ball Special as far as a actually power right up. hmm. Maybe something like Run Usable as an attack and linked so that it could only work in conjunction with your move by/thru. And have it be that, *with GM approval,* the Velocity base stats, are what the opponent would of gained given the distance of the Run. But that is a poor write up and tweeks the rules a little much. But that is my own opinion for a Accually build on it.

What i mean is if we can sacrafice two pounds of lead or two pounds of gold for something we would give up lead. Just because we can only get out a theretical max doesn't pervent us from reaching "economic equilibrium." where the cost of what we put in is equal to the value we get out. And under proper production methods we could fesably get MORE in a financial sense. Also antimater does occur naturally in space if I rember correctly *and please do let me know if I am wrong. So asumibly we could turn Anti-mater into a viable fuel just the way we turned Fission. Becuase just like fission cant produce more energy than it has as maximum potential, we have found a way to Decrease the Cost of production so the % it does put off is Viable. la Rose.

But what I thought it would be fun to mention that NASA has put a commision together to explore the possible use of Anti-matter rockets as a form of fuel. IF it is possible and they find a way to market it as a viable sorce of power we could be looking at 100 percent efficency in transforming matter to energy. Now disregard the fact that it cost currently something like a couple hundred million to produce enough just to get a rocket to mars but we don't currently have a way of producing Anti-M. like a factory. We can produce it but it is more a by-product of something else. With any luck*crosses fingers* I could be powering my house with energy from Anti-Matter in my lifetime. Just as a though.
