  1. Re: Show me the Water Powers Drowning On Land 1/2d6 RKA, NND (Defense is being able to breath underwater or not needing to breathe), Continuous, Does Body
  2. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Your character's potential wife is a looker, congrats.
  3. Re: Star Hero Adventures This is great stuff, Eodin! I hope you finish it.
  4. Re: A general question? What about Shields? I mainly use Damage Reduction for shields. I've never really seen a spaceship shield which actually stopped damage, all they seem to do is lessen it.
  5. Re: Stargate Question I have the whole first season on DVD, The Storm and The Eye are the episodes where the Genii attack the Seige parts 1 and 2 are the last two episodes of season 1. The Seige part 3 is the first episode of season 2.
  6. Re: Seemingly Silly Things to Model Didn't somebody on these boars solve the age old question "How Much Wood Would A Woodchuck Chuck If A Woodchuck Would Chuck Wood?" by building a woodchuck with the hero system rules? If they did does anyone have a link? I couldn't find it when I went searching for it.
  7. Re: How do you build Drives? The Navigator's seat was part of an escape pod that automatically launched if too much damage was taken to the rest of the ship. And yes boarding parties. Navigators where recognized as protected persons in the rules of war in that game. Killing them by accident was okay but doing it purposely was a war crime.
  8. Re: Stargate Question Actualy the Marine Col. appears in the last part of the first season and is shipped off in the first few episodes of second season.
  9. Re: How do you build Drives? Here is how I handle FTL. This is from a game I was going to run on HC that didn't make it because of lack of interest. Lyle Drive When Lyle Pritcher invented the hyperdrive he turned the galaxy into a true interstellar community. It was now possible to send messages and ships hundreds of light years in a matter of days. It was now possible to travel from Earth to Iris (a distance of 931 light years) in three weeks! Hyperspace Hyperspace is very dangerous. It is constantly shifting and changing, making it impossible for a computer to navigate. To Be Immune to HHS is a 5pt Perk, to be a Trained Navigator is a 10pt perk, it also requires the following skills Systems Operation (Lyle Drive), Navigation (Lyle Space), TF:(A FTL Spaceship), SS:Mathematics. Hyperspace can only be navigated by a human. Unfortunately not everyone can stand the sight of hyperspace. For the vast majority of people even a small peek at hyperspace causes blinding headaches, intense vertigo, and horrible nausea. This has become know as Hyperspace Sensitivity Syndrome. All psionics sufer from HSS and it is not completely understood why, though it obviously has to do with their mental abilities. Only normal humans can navigate hyperspace and even then there are onlya few hundred thousand trained Navigators in the whole galaxy. They are more humans that do not suffer from HSS that are not Navigators due to any number of other variables. From slow reaction times, to a lack of mathmatical ability. Excessive discharge of energy in hyperspace has catastrophic results in hyperspace so powerful it actually leaks out into real space. Effectively this means that while you can pursue someone through hyperspace you can't attack them while in hyperspace or you'll both be destroyed. A side effect of the small amount of Navigator's (maybe 300k in a galaxy of 100billion+) meant that Navigator's are hardly ever killed purposely in a battle between ships, even pirates won't kill them. They kidnap them and force them to navigate for them, though.
  10. Re: Stargate Question I actually don't think its a Drain so much as a Transform. No body recovers from having 30+ years of their life stolen, do they?
  11. Re: Help from those with stronger Search-Fu Thats it! Thank you Lord Liaden of the gabillion links!
  12. Okay so you can;t use Mind Control to prevent a person from using their breakout rolls. Can a person voluntarily not try to breakout or are they forced to try? Can you use a Transform attack to change someone into a person who doesn't try to break free from mental attacks?
  13. A while back on the Star Hero board, at least I think, someone posted a link to a sight that was all about how one of Saturn's (I think it was Saturn) moons was supposedly artifical. I've been looking for that thread but I can't find it. Can anyone out there help me?
  14. Re: Stargate Question Hey how about a write up for the Wraith while you're at it?
  15. Re: Fading Suns I was under the impression that Olivia wasn't as old as Sunstroke. I think it was mainly because I didn't picture an older woman as a supermodel. If you have them I'd love to see write ups for the other characters.
  16. Re: Fading Suns I've been toying around with this sort of idea myself. I was thinking, however to have it be an band of former heroes, ones who have all retired for some reason or another. Sunstroke is a perfect example of what I was thinking of, heroes of a bygone age. I was thinking of letting them be 300pt characters with an additional 25pts that have to be spent either on Skills or Perks.
  17. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... In our FtF game my buddy Dave plays a character called Jacob. Jacob is the group's nominative leader, but Dave, when he's low on caffine, zones in and out, so he oftens misses things. This happend on Saturday. Jacob (IC): Okay here is the plan. You three are group A, you get into position on the roof across the street, wait for their signal, and stay out of sight. You two are group B, head in through the front entrance and distract them. We group C, go in through the side door and take the security room. Then we radio group B who takes the guards out. Thats group A's signal to attack. Everybody clear on what their doing? Hanse(OOC): Yeah, because we decided what to do three minutes ago.
  18. If I use mind control on Bob (Ego 10) and I give them command "Do not try to Break Free from Mental Powers" and I roll Ego+40, does he stop getting to make break out rolls?
  19. Re: [Totally fictional] A suicide note And?
  20. Re: CHAMPIONS UNIVERSE II - What Do You Want To See? I'm sure others have said it but I'd like to see a list of the heroes and villains who died in Dr. Destroyer's attack on Detroit. I'd also like a discription of each of them, what team (if any) they were in, powers, appearance.
  21. Re: X-Men "Elseworld" game Found it and in it he calls himself Doom. His armor is pretty much the same except its golden and his helmet looks like a knights helmet that doesn't cover his face. In this comic the thing that changes is that in college he listens to Reed Richards and gets his help fixing his machine. The machine lets him send his soul to hell where he encounters his mother's soul. She tells him how she didn't get to confess before being killed for witchcraft. She also tells him that he is the rightful heir to the throne of Latveria. Victor then leaves college and starts a search for the occult knowledge he'll need to rescue his mother's soul. He eventually finds it and frees her soul from hell. Then he returns to Latveria where he confronts Prince Rudolfo and takes his kingdom from him. Then he helps the people with his technical genius, giving them robats to work their fields and cutting laser, things like that. The people love him. Then on his wedding night Mephisto confronts him for taking his mother's soul from hell. Mephisto plays with Victor and Victor tries to fight him, but he is hopelessly overpowered. Mephisto tells him he must give him a soul to replace the one Doom stole. He gives Doom a choice, he can give him Valeria's (his wife) soul or he can give him Victor's own soul. Victor agonizers over it but chooses to give Mephisto Valeria's soul. Every year from then on Doom tries and fails to rescue his wife's soul
  22. Re: Untapped Universe? Signs wasn't the best movie, true. But it wasn't really about the aliens. It was about Grahmn's (Mel "Jew Hater" Gibson) lose of faith and his regaining it.
  23. Re: X-Men "Elseworld" game I have an old comic from Marvel's what if line where Doctor Doom is a good guy. I could get it out and see what he called himself then, if you'd like.
  24. Re: A teleport EC I've used this kind of EC a couple of different times myself. You also may want to think of Stretching witht the advantage "Does Not Cross Intervening Space". And you should also get Teleportation, usable as attack.
  25. Re: Untapped Universe? They are no dumber then any number of different aliens in a number of other movies. Highlight the below, but be warned of spoilers. I always assume that if an alien race invades Earth, but is horribly allergic to water, that Earth is the only planet that has the resources they need, inside of a distance that is mind boggling.
