  1. I havn't seen Lady In The Water yet but from his other movies, The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Signs, and the Village, does anybody else see potential for a campaign set in the world of M. Night Shamalayn? You've got, Psychic powers, Low Level Powers, Aliens, what is basically a cult, and I'm assuming Lady In The Water has monsters.
  2. Re: When you think "Superhero".... The first think of Captain America and then I think of the two brothers from the Boondock Saints.
  3. Re: Elves Well at least Cosmos Emertius has company on Alpha Centauri.
  4. Re: Else Earth Naming Game... Empire The Combine Aristocracy Inc.
  5. Re: The Champion Protocols (ie how to take down your character) Gregory Cauldron: Your best bet would be to use his sense of honor against him. Lure him into a trap by claming his family is doing something at the place you want him to be. He'll immediately leave to stop them, and he won't tell his teammates since its a family matter.
  6. Re: WWYCD: The Nebula Affair Gregory Cauldron: Gregory would ask her to send him to Duress as he would see it as a point of honor to rescue the villian she just sent there. And if the only way he can get her to send him there is if he tries to attack her then thats what he'll do. Jack O' Daggers: Jack would readily let her tag along as he went after villians, he's a vigilante and thinks that criminals need to suffer so he'd have no problem with what she's doing.
  7. Re: No idea how to model this... Duplication buy it so you can have 3 forms and apply the advantage that allows them to differ in how their points are spent.
  8. Re: Elves My take on the whole Elven aging has been that its a cultural thing. They are physically and mentally adult when they are 18-20 but to the rest of the Elven world they are just children. Which isn't an unreasonable view from a being that is 4,000+ years old. To a human an 20 year old elf is an adult, albeit a young one, to the elves he's just a little kid who will grow up in century or two.
  9. I don't have any of the Fantasy Hero books, so if this idea is in them I'm not aware of it. In any Fantasy Hero games I've played or run I've always found magic too expensive. So I've come up with a system that reduces the cost while still making costly to have powerful magic. It works like this, for every type of magic you wish to use (Fire, Earth, High Magic, Sorcery, etc.) you have to buy a perk which costs 5pts. The perk grants you the ability to have 5 Active Points for those types of spells. The next time you buy it you get an additional 5 AC and so on. Spells themselves cost 1pt no matter how many AC they have. Of course all the differents types of magic have different limitations that are mandatory. For instance High Magic requires a Focus and Incantations, Sorcery requires Incantations and Eye Contact. So what do you think?
  10. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... "Does the nun have rPD?" "No." "F**K!"
  11. Re: Link to Disadvanage Database? http://www.globalguardians.com/masterlists/masterlistindex.php Would this happen to be the site you mean?
  12. Re: "Thing ring, do your thing!" I remember it on Cartoon Network on Saturdays. They would show a bunch of old cartoons in the morning. Captain Caveman, the Original Space Ghost, the Original Birdman, The Wonder Twins. All that stuff.
  13. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... GM(Me): So you go to the police station to see if the results from your test are in. You notice that the other Cops are treating you differently. Damian Mathhews: I check for explosives. From a Western Game. GM: The raider is riding closer to you, and fast, what do you do? John Valkiery: Can I get a clean shot off on him? GM: Yeah he'd be easy to hit from this angle. John Valkiery: Good. I shoot the horse.
  14. Re: mr. MONK gets statted up I would remove Acrobatics and Climbing from his sheet. I'd also reduce his STR to 10 maybe 8 as he was unable to beat Sharona at arm wrestling early on in the series. He also definetly needs +2 or maybe even a +3 to his PER rolls. I agree that he needs at least another inch, maybe two of running.
  15. Re: Monster Slayers Archtypes Normal Characteristic Maxima. Its in the Disadvantages section under the Age disadvantage.
  16. The thread about Elves got me wondering how do you all handle the other common races for a fantasy game? You know what are Dwarfs like in your campaign, what are the Humans like? How about Halflings?
  17. Re: Elves Thanks for posting that, Lucius. I always like to see how different handle the same or similar races in their own games. I'm going to post a thread about that. Could someone rep Lucius for me?
  18. Re: Elves If you don't mind I would like to see it.
  19. Re: Elves Yeah those moderators sound like as$hats.
  20. Re: Elves Any chance we can see What Elves Know?
  21. If I buy Extra Limbs and buy "Affects Physical World" for them can I them to manipulate and attack things at my normal STR while I'm desolid?
  22. Re: Normals w/Abilities vs Supers [Offshoot of CSL vs MA] I really don't care what your special effect is, mutant, robot, alien, highly trained normal, you are all superheroes and as such aren't bound by the same rules as Joe Shmoe on the streets. Your concept says you are normal and you have 33 DEX? Fine. If the player wants NCM they can have it, if they don't then they don't have to take it. I've had players do both, some have taken it and some haven't. Niether way caused any problems. I would never force someone to take a disadvantage because of their origin. Hell on our current team we have a member who is 100% made of water. They don't have a vulnerability vs. Electricty and we are all fine with it. Frankly if you want realism you are playing the wrong genre. I think Office Worker HERO comes out in 08, why don't you wait until then to play?
  23. Re: Elves The only fantasy world I have doesn't have a name. Its the standard fantasy world with one major difference. The only race is human. Everyone is a human, all the good guys, all the bad guys, everyone is a human. There are still all sorts of monster but you won't find Minotaurs, Centaurs, or god forbid Driders. *shudders*
  24. Re: The Professions of Arms I'd actually say base it on INT. Dumb gladiator's probably would last that long.
  25. Re: Creation Myth I hope everyone reps Dr. A for this. He certainly deserves it!
