  2. Re: Need a McGuffin Name Here's some stuff I pulled off the web years ago, for a game I was planning on running, but never got it started... Kudos to the original writer, though I have no idea who that is, I never planned on publishing this info or pass it on as my own ideas... This is all net stuff... The Quest for the Magnus Lexrota Jak
  3. Re: Pulp Hero Resources A couple supplements from DrivethruRPG.com: I doubt this supplement will have as much info in it as the Pulp Hero book, but sometimes you need all you can get. Timeline: Roaring 20s Welcome to Timeline: Roaring 20s, a sourcebook for Modern d20 games. This is a new type of sourcebook for us, depicting a time period rather than a particular genre. Many of our previous books in the Blood and… line are really genre books, providing the crunch needed for role-playing in the horror, military, martial arts or super hero genres. This book is much more cream than crunch, and is meant to work alongside our genre books. For example, a campaign featuring shadowy vigilantes fighting inscrutable Eastern villains could use Timeline: Roaring 20s, Blood and Fists, and (if the “flash†level is set high enough) Blood and Vigilance. Of course, it is equally possible to use this book with just the core rules to play in a wide range of genres. This Roaring Supplement includes: 3 New Occupations 5 New Advanced Classes (G-Man, Hitman, Intrepid Reporter, Mob Boss, and Mystery Man). New 20s Weapons and Vehicles. A 1920s timeline for gamemasters. THRILLING TALES: The Steel Legion An adventure for THRILLING TALES or any d20 Pulp Campaign Have fun! Jak
  4. Re: Friends, 1934 Aiya! I can't give you any more rep... I has to e'spread it around a little... Jak
  5. Re: Pulp Hero Resources Luftschiff (board game) Luftschiff is the original version of our Zeppelin combat game, limited to German airships in the Great War. This product has been completely replaced by Airships at War, and is thus only of interest to game historians or collectors. $16 from Sierra Madre Games also... Airships At War, 12th anniversary ed. (board game) Airships at War is a solitaire simulation of dirigible combat. Historical scenarios take place during the Great War, while hypothetical ones extend into the inter-war years. The player acts as the crew of a single Zeppelin on a mission over England, the North Sea, Russia, Italy, Africa or the Pacific. $24 at Sierra Madre Games. It has expansions as well. You might get some good counters and maps out of it. Jak
  6. Re: And Still More Pulpable minis I'd call that episode... "The Secret of the Were-Fox!" Ha! I kill me. Jak
  7. Re: Friends, 1934 No problem. Just let us know if you update them. Believe me... I just got through going through my girlfriend's son's Eagle Scout Project. Man... that was some stress, let me tell you... turned out to be much more than he bargained for... especially when you get the city council involved... and the park committee... Anyway, keep up the great work. Jak
  8. Re: And Still More Pulpable minis "What do you *MEAN*, 'Flash Gordon approaching...'?" I couldn't resist... Jak
  9. Re: Friends, 1934 Hey BDH, Are you updating the character sheets? I am thinking about running a one-shot and use them as well... I'll just have to encourage my mostly male group to play three females which might be disasterous, believe me. Jak
  10. Re: Friends, 1934 Joey: How u duin?
  11. Re: Friends, 1934 Sure, I think that's very period. Jak
  12. Re: Friends, 1934 I love it so far... Great subplots, SS! A couple of adventure ideas: They Came From Below! It's a nice spring evening in New York, and the friends are out on Chandler's new yacht. When suddenly, they hear and see commotion coming from one of the bridges. With closer inspection, the group finds out that giant insects seem to be exiting a tunnel from Inner-Earth, and rampaging New York. The Friends will have to figure out where the insects are coming from and distract the insects long enough to dynamite the tunnels closed. Myself / My Son Ross' ex wife (a deranged mad scientist) has devulged in a private letter to him that their son is actually a clone of him; one that she will use to discredit him and possibly even frame him for some hideous crime (she still hasn't gotten over their divorce). Soon, radio reports of bank robberies abound, and someone has recognized the perpetrator as none other than the famous paleontologist Ross Geller. Will Ross be able to find his alter self, and if he does, can he really kill him? More later, Jak
  13. Re: Friends, 1934 This... is... too... cool!!! You may have talked me into running a pulp one-shot with your characters... Now to come up with a Pulparized! Friends plot... Jak

    Pulparize It!

Re: Pulparize It! A couple quick pulparizations: Lassie: There's much more than spiders down the well or in the abandoned mine or swimming in the lake by Timmy's house. Lassie the Wonder Dog and Timmy the Kid Sleuth will put an end to the plots of Dennis the Menace and the Dispicable Mr. Wilson. Ha! I crossed shows! Back to the Future: Doc Brown's invention worked a little too well. The Future Car tore an awful hole in time and space. Now Marty and Doc have to work hard to fix the time distortions, and keep things from the future and the past from floating in and out of "the present". Oh my God! It's the Libians! I can't believe they found me. Run, Marty! Star Trek: The 7th Sea, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the United States Submarine Enterprise. It's never ending misssion, to explore fully this world of the undersea. To boldly go where no man has gone before. Mr. Spock, there's things down there, down in that deep blue sea. Things man wasn't meant to see. Men are going to build their new world down here. And we have to be ready for them. Jak

    Pulparize It!

Re: Pulparize It! Why not? I think he'd be there... even though he might get treated a lot like Tonto... "Hey, B.A., drive into town and warn the bad guys we're coming." "Won't that get him beat up?" "Yeah, but that's part of the plan." Jak

    Pulparize It!

Re: Pulparize It! Back to the Pulparizing (I like Rep! ) Baywatch: East Coast (Miami) and Baywatch: West Coast (Los Angeles) The players are members of an elite OSS or Reserve military unit that is undercover as life guards, keeping an eye on the country's coastline, vigilantly guarding Americans against anyone trying to invade or cause harm. And, of course, they're ready to help any tourists who just happen to be in trouble. "The word is that [Cuba/Japan] could attack any time now. Be ready!" [edit: add] Plot seeds (Miami): Voodoo Zombies, pirates from eras past, The Gulf Aligator Men... Plot seeds (LA): El Chupa Cabra, The Shark Men of Baha, Railroads and Goldmines, Pearl Harbor and Lifeguards (late period)... Jak
