Tjack reacted to Cancer in Funny Pics II: The Revenge
The concept of horny gators meeting up with Spring Break students is highly amusing, actually.

I believe that you are a good man and if we met in the real world we would be friends. But music of all kinds is such a major importance in my life I don’t think we’ll ever agree on this subject.
While Bob Dylan’s voice is awful he remains one of my favorite poets, and the Beatles music is a constant companion and solace to me in good times and bad.

Us and them
And after all we're only ordinary men
Me and you
God only knows it's not what we would choose to do
"Forward!" he cried from the rear
And the front rank died
And the general sat
And the lines on the map
Moved from side to side
Black and blue
And who knows which is which and who is who
Up and down
And in the end it's only round 'n round
"Haven't you heard it's a battle of words?"
The poster bearer cried
"Listen son", said the man with the gun
"There's room for you inside."
"I mean, they're not gonna kill ya
So if you give 'em a quick short, sharp, shock
They won't do it again. Dig it?
I mean he get off lightly, 'cause I would've given him a thrashing
I only hit him once! It was only a difference of opinion, but really
I mean good manners don't cost nothing do they, eh?"
Down and out
It can't be helped that there's a lot of it about
With, without
And who'll deny it's what the fighting's all about?
Out of the way
It's a busy day
I've got things on my mind
For the want of the price
Of tea and a slice
The old man died

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
Fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your hometown
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way
Tired of lying in the sunshine, staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long, and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say
Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
And when I come home cold and tired
It's good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells

It is fearful at times to me how fast this group can collectively get the answer to the most obscure of questions.
Good on you tdkguy!

Hearing the tale of the Glassie made me long for the days spent on the Far Venture.
She was part of a Star Wars campaign I was Co-GM for. She was a YT-1300 and I was her Engineer. (A Dwaarf from the Gaigax system) Over the course of time we hade some “special modifications” done for her. The most noticeable were the landing skids and thruster installed on the roof...Those went in after the third time we crash landed upside down. But my favorite was the torpedo tube installed at the rear of the ship. We called it the “Take that with ya”, since we saved it for ships locking a tractor beam on us as we hauled a$$ out of yet another bad situation. Normal torpedo speeds times the velocity added by the beam made it too quick for anybody to react to.
For roleplay I included a list of protocols that automatically went into effect during a “red alert” situation. All lighting and life support was cut by 1/3 to save power. All airtight doors closed but did not lock in case of hull breach. And I stated that drawing extra power to the engines, weapons and shields caused the motion dampeners to go a little out of synch so the inside of the ship rocked like standing up on a moving bus. (Safe enough to walk, if you keep one hand on a grip of some kind but a little chancy if you’re doing repairs or emergency surgery)
No matter what we went up against, she always pulled us through....The Far Venture! May The Force always be with her!

That post may have sounded like “poor pitiful me” but I’m alive when experts thought I’d be well into my next reincarnation by now. John Wayne only had one lung, and just like my hero the Duke I’m gonna tell Death to F-off until I’m good and ready. If all else fails I’m gonna grow gills and breathe like a fish.
This is only about how much these tests suck and how someday I’ll have my swift and righteous revenge on those who conspire against me. Mine enemies should start quaking in their boots and wetting themselves now and avoid the rush.

The number I drew in the pool to guess Tjack’s % of lung capacity was “>0%”. I think I got the wildcard.

I'll be optimistic and say 47.99%.
If it's any comfort when my wife was around 47 years old, she did such testing and was told that she had the lungs of someone who was in her late 80's. She's never smoked or done anything which would have deliberately been destructive of her lungs.
Anyway, she's still alive. Hasn't been able to work in years but she has hobbies which keep her busy. For example, she's learned to paint.

Tjack got a reaction from Logan D. Hurricanes in I hate this day.
While today isn’t too bad, tomorrow is going to suck rocks. I have to go in for my bi-annual lung capacity tests. This is where a sadist in a smock walks me around an indoor track monitoring my blood oxygen levels until I want to pass out. Then they take you into a room with a little booth and a face mask and see how you do at different levels of air.
The last one showed me at at only 48% lung capacity and it’s expected this one will show it’s even lower now. Does anyone want to start a pool to guess the new number?
I may have to make plans to return to my home world. This one bites.

She is Rebecca DeSpellor, who causes mischief as the spellcasting Darkrune. She won't tell how she can cast her magic. Or how a mere 17 year old goth girl with a short attention span could learn to do what many mystics say should take 100 years to learn. Rumors about dark packs with underworld beings, homicidal slashers, wild parties, drugs, and a cute bunny rabbit have been waved about as her origin.
She has no time or reason to do what she does. She cast spells to do things cause she is either bored, or have to defend herself from people who have powers and want her to remain bored.
