Nope. She's not even making me budge on my position. Setting up a tier system and hoping for no abuse is naive at best. I don't claim to know European priorities, but here in America, better stream for pay would go to things like commercials and cutting rivals who couldn't keep up with payments off. It would become legalized extortion by the providers.
You want to really speed up the internet all around? Encourage better and quicker infrastructure with faster connection (Something that many companies in the US ALSO fight tooth and nail)

Hermit reacted to BoloOfEarth in The Flash
I forgot to mention, when my wife and daughter and I watched a recent episode of The Flash on Comcast's On Demand, they showed their message that the fast-forward was disabled. My daughter said, "Can we pause for a moment and appreciate the irony that we can't fast forward during an episode of The Flash?"

Last night my eldest (7) took all his remaining allowance and birthday money (~$40) and put it in an envelope to give to the church. He said, "The church needs it more than I do. It will help."
My wife and I were absolutely stunned. He's had his eyes on a big set of Legos for a while and was saving for that.

The sad thing about that headline for me is the word 'shocking' ... The Feds may find it so, I find myself depressingly unsurprised.

I concur with body camming cops as standard issue. Some of them may not like it, but it keeps the bad cops in check a bit more, and , frankly, it helps protect the good ones from false accusations.
And yes, they need third party review of incidents like they finally got in Wisconsin.
EDIT: I Got the state wrong at first

It was amazingly well done, frankly movie worthy (Or at least better than some superhero movies that have made it on screen)

Oh, no argument from me. This was inexcusable. A man died over cigarettes begging to be allowed to breathe until he could beg no more.
Heads should be rolling proverbially, and if reform doesn't earnestly start in the system, history dictates that head rolling may become quite literal.

Actually, one of the robots is trans-gender. It was booted with Windows 8, but self-identifies as Apple OS X.

Well, for an educated defense of the gamergate group
That's Christina Hoff Sommers, a democrat working for the AEI (With conservative backers) so I guess that makes her a centrist? She's written books like "Who stole feminism" and so on. She's got a PHD, has written for the Huffington post and other places so I don't think folks should dismiss her as a sockpuppet or anything straight off. Agree or disagree with her, she's worth a moment of listening to I think. Unfortunately, she falls into a trap of sounding too snarky, but it's a trap both sides of the debate have gone into imo.
Oh, if interested in her previous video about video games that's here

Let's see... from just one source (And I'm not sure how verified these quotes are)
“The secret of creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.” “Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity.” “If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?” “I don't know, I don't care, and it doesn't make any difference!” "If A is a success in life, then A equals x plus y plus z. Work is x; y is play; and z is keeping your mouth shut." "I never think of the future. It comes soon enough." "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe." “You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.” “I am a deeply religious nonbeliever - This is a somewhat new kind of religion” “Any man who reads too much and uses his own brain too little falls into lazy habits of thinking” "Gravitation is not responsible for people falling in love." "The hardest thing in the world to understand is the income tax." “The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education.” Yeah, the man got some good ones in

There's a reason Debt Collectors are hated almost universally even by those who aren't technically in debt. They're one of the many symptoms of the 'guilty until proven innocent' illness in our country, and no power on earth, not even logic or facts, seem to move many of them.
